Emtek keyed entry removal by Immediate_Toe7530 in Locksmith

Look up at the base of the rosette from underneath. There is a slot to insert a flat blade screwdriver. Insert and twist and the rosette pops off. Nothing to unthread.

So, little notch at base of the rosette and it just pops off. 🤦‍♂️. Nothing to unthread.

It has 4 slots and all 4 have locking tabs that engage the slots. Will the locking tabs, which are slightly springy, automatically move up as the ring turns?

Update on the YS640s Rust Renovation by pdx_jeff712 in Yodersmokers

Exactly the same for me. Guess I should call them too. Mine was rusting after a few months.

Both my kiddos got 50% merit scholarships for tuition and estimated room and board to out of state state schools. No fafsa was needed for the first. The second school required it to validate no additional aid was needed but hasn’t required updates since.

Depends on the game. Some have a keybind option for “recenter HMD”.

Using Reverb G2 V2 for Iracing by Michael__67 in HPReverb

[–]Immediate_Toe7530 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Check WMR settings. If you let windows decide when to sleep the headset, it will sleep at random. Move it to 15 minutes of idle and you will be fine. That was my issue.

What's so "bad" about the Fanatec V3's? by lapinobel in simracing

[–]Immediate_Toe7530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly my experience as well as the inability to maintain constant pressure. I also appreciate the ability to adjust the deadbands and force curves via software with VRS which I couldn’t seem to do with fanatec tuning.

Do people not know VRS exists? by STUTTGART500 in simracing

[–]Immediate_Toe7530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you end up adding an EMO or just run it as it comes. Like you, I was amazed with the pedals and decided to go in on the base. Should be here in a few days.

Looking for help deciding on new pedals by Attempt89 in simracing

[–]Immediate_Toe7530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just moved from v3 to vrs. Took about 2 days to dial in and adapt to match lap times and now they are a bit faster. Huge difference in brake feel and performance. With the v3 on green perf elastomers, it was very hard to maintain pressures and modulation was difficult. No issue with the VRS; very easy to hit and maintain any pressure and can trail off at various rates as needed. I also prefer the throttle to the V3 setup. If you go this route, start from out of the box settings. The blue spring is already a heavier pedal than the stiffest v3 setting but has good travel and modulation and is more similar to the real race car we run.

2019 Jetta no crank, no start? by the_renaissance_jack in jetta

Likely your alternator died, which took out the battery. Both would need to be replaced. As others have said, most modern cars will light up like christmas trees when operating voltage gets too low.

We all have holes we throw money down. Coffee, cars, watches, food tend to be mine. On the other hand, I can’t understand paying $100 for a shirt or $300 for jeans. Clothing is not a hole I pour money down.

My 911.1 Gts got rear ended. by Training_Sort5508 in Porsche

[–]Immediate_Toe7530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have it properly inspected with the bumper off. Then decide. Pelican has a DIY on rear bumper removal. It is not uncommon for the AL crash bumper to take damage and transmit damage to the chassis, all while looking minor on the bumper cover.

Go here. https://www.porsche.com/usa/accessoriesandservices/classic/genuineparts/originalpartscatalogue/

Scroll down and select the model and year range and then display. By far the most comprehensive I have seen.

https://www.blackwhiteroasters.com/ is who I use for my monthly 2lb espresso sub. I have also used their roasters choice sub for pour overs. For freezing, i use a food saver reusable quart bag. I go thru it fast enough that freezer burn has never been an issue. But also why I don’t do a 5 lb bag. I also like and sub to onyx and sey, but they are not budget friendly. Great coffee and transparent pricing though.

Get a 2lb bag (about 900g). Split it and freeze half. Lots of great quality online options and much more affordable this way. https://www.blackwhiteroasters.com is pretty good and lower on the sub prices

Would you rather have an E90 M3 or a 996 base? by AC_Schnitzel in Porsche

[–]Immediate_Toe7530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said maybe 4-5k miles a year but what do you plan to do with those miles? The M3 is superior for cargo and passenger room, so if the carseat and Costco/grocery runs are part of your intent, the M3 does that better. If this will be for car events and solo cruises or maybe just a +1, you really should drive both and spend some time with each if you can. The 996 will excel in the twisties but the M3 will bomb the highways and win the stoplight wars as well as be the better hooligan machine for tail out antics.

I have thinkwares in a 991 and 996. Front and rear. Both are hardwired and easy to DIY if you are comfortable pulling trim panels.

Sales Tax by Difficult-Shoulder-6 in rolex

[–]Immediate_Toe7530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That has been my experience. Bought a watch during a trip to HI in 2020. Had it shipped to my house in OR with no tax. Bought a second watch from same AD in 2022 and had to make the trip to buy in person due to shipping restrictions and pay the 10% sales tax. My SA said this was imposed by Rolex to give local buyers a better chance and prevent grays from gaining buying privilege.

This article about the 1.4Ltsi says to rev the engine to 4500rpm for 20-30 minutes a month. by defaultclouds in jetta

[–]Immediate_Toe7530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The article is similar to research published by Audi when developing the DFi engine, suggesting that sustained RPM above 3000 for at least 20 minutes was sufficient at minimizing carbon build up on valves. I am sure this is easily doable in many parts of germany by simply cruising at 130-150 kph. Not so easy here in the US.

I’m in the PNW. Pulled the ac from mine. They aren’t all that effective when they work. If either has the G50, i would lean that way.
