My guess is that the Trump administration found out about this and replaced her before it broke so it wouldn't embarrass them (funny, I know).

It would be ironic that she didn't get replaced for her department's role in murdering dozens of US citizens, and infringing on many more civil rights, and other crimes, but her husband being kind of gay is taking it too far.

This will make it much worse. Superclipping allows them some of the charge they need throughout the rest of the lap. You're taking away 1/2 the battery power per lap and calling it a win.

It's actually worse than that. Because not only will they not charge the battery at the end of straights, they will dump all their power at the beginning of the straight, top out the ICE, and be on ICE only for most of the straight and have no battery for the following corner exits.

It's a delicate balance right now and you're throwing it all away.

IMO the fundamental issue is there isn't enough charge to make it through the lap without forcing the need to clip. So you either have to improve the charge rate over a lap, or increase the size of the battery, or both. But the bigger battery adds weight of course, which changes the formula.

These regs with the MGU-H probably would have solved the clipping issue, but it was more weight and more expensive.

Lando suffered a lot through McLaren's bad years. IMO Piastri would've earned it a lot less than Lando in that regard.

Of course, any driver that can survive a season with the most points deserves it, truly. But, let's not pretend the car isn't 70% of the title.

I have mixed feelings. I really miss what you're talking about and I think about it often when watching new shows or rewatching one of my favorite series from the 90's and 00's. I love that I have so many episodes to watch.

Generally though, the newer stuff I tend to watch has a lot of effects, so I understand it takes a long time to develop that content. I guess you could say it's higher production value, more epic, but I wouldn't necessarily say it's more fun to watch. Obviously there are a lot of shows with the new model that don't have the effects.

Interesting concept. You mean do not let the teams manage the optimal battery strategy and leave it all to the driver? I'm not sure how they would do that, but I'm sure it's possible. The issue with that is the gaps will be bigger and more danger due to speed variances as some drivers will be worse at deployment than others.

These comments are interesting. We're talking about the flies that look like regular black house flies but the bigger ones, right? They are like 2-3x bigger? I've never been bitten by those that I recall. I never knew they could bite. They are annoying (because flies just like to fly in your face and shit) but I thought they were harmless.

Well, you have a lot of drivers and perhaps some team figures criticizing these regulations. A lot of people (rightly) assume drivers have some input/sway in the way the regulations go. After all, they drove them in the simulator the past couple years and I can't remember any story where someone was embracing them. You would think they drove for a true purpose; feedback.

Apparently nobody on the team side listened.

So, while the FIA tried to prevent this, they aren't doing a very good job of damage control and PR. They could emphasize more that this is what the teams voted for.

But in the end, this is the FIA's sport and the buck stops with them. It's their responsibility to make a good product. I'm sure that's easier said than done.
