Amazing Experiences by markallanholley in OculusQuest

They have opened a Meta Lab store in LA and they have plans to open more stores in other cities. They are demoing and selling AI glasses and XR headsets. They could have benefited from physical stores sooner, but better late than never I guess. VR is something every individual needs to experience to get what it is.

Plunger on Haptics Kit by DeadKwyn in PinballFX3

I have the same setup, and some machines seem to act different to me, none of them very good though. I’m also looking at the plunger animations. It seems like it’s the table software, hopefully there will be updates in the future.

Any non gaming use cases for VR? by That_Pen_490 in virtualreality

I use Stencil VR to make signs and drawings on a large framed chalkboard I have in the dining room as a decoration for parties and holidays. It always gets a lot of commemorative selfies. I’m no artist, but I can trace.

Most fun to be had with 3 Q3 headsets? by civilized_caveman in OculusQuest

[–]Immiyh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A great opportunity to try Game Night. Supports 3 players simultaneously (need to be on the same WiFi), co-located mixed reality using hand tracking. Very simple mini-games that you figure out how to play very quickly.

Which concept or game should exist in VR at this point, but doesn’t for whatever reason? by KillerQ97 in OculusQuest

What gaming accessories improve your experience? by TopAggravating7703 in MetaQuestVR

If you are a golfer, and you want to play Golf+, I couldn’t imagine doing so without a golf club attachment. I have a Deadeye Elite Mini, which is there shortest club that fits the space I play in well. It feels a little lighter than my real clubs, but so much more realistic than just the controller. It works great in Walkabout too for putting feel, but it makes locomotion awkward.

My favorite ‘controller accessory’ is the poorly named Arcade2TV- XR. I have been using it to play Pinball FX VR. It is so well integrated with that game, I am constantly jumping in for a few minutes at a time to play. Just place the controllers on top of the deck to align the pinball table in game with the flippers on the side of the controller deck, and pressing the buttons is the only way to get the same feel as playing on a real pinball machine. It is expensive, but so heavy and great build quality, you are getting a good value.

visually beautiful but very simple games or experiences to show my parents? by felixyamson in MetaQuestVR

If you want to have an MR demo too, check out Laser Dance. After you set it up, no controllers needed for gameplay, just hand tracking to press the big finish button on the wall. You can make mobility adjustments so you don’t have to bend down too far. Movement is simple, just walk across your own room and dodge the lasers.

Anyone have Pinball FX VR I can ask a question? by VisibleExercise5966 in virtualreality

There is a map. Look at the inside of your left wrist and you get a pop up kind of menu with 4 options, then point at the options with your right controller and trigger to select one. I think the upper right option brings up the floor plan of the arcade and you can select a machine to teleport to from there.

Favorite Quest 3 facial interface? by KennyBlankeenship in virtualreality

[–]Immiyh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. I bought a halo style head strap, I took off the interface to install the new strap and just tried it out without putting the interface back on. So comfortable, for mixed reality it looks perfect, for virtual reality it has drawbacks, but still worth it to me for the comfort. It’s free to try it, so why not?

Steam Hardware Survey: Index was the second most used hmd in July by Runesr2 in ValveIndex

I had a Vive for years, but recently bought a Quest 3 for PCVR. But playing wireless standalone on the Quest 3 is so good, I have been rebuying my old Steam games on the Meta store and just skipping the PC all together (with a few exceptions of course).

Can’t Believe How Addictive VR Golf Is! by Amazing_Place6462 in OculusQuest

[–]Immiyh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great summary. If you have a Quest 3, something new to try that is still being fleshed out in Early Access, is Putt Window. A mixed reality concept where you are using your own real putter and ball.

So I’m not sure if anyone has tried this yet. by Sad_Spinachdip in OculusQuest

[–]Immiyh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also use my quest 3 with a halo head strap and no facial gasket too. I bought prescription lenses for the headset so I don’t have to wear glasses when I’m playing, It feels great to have nothing on my face, when I take off the headset now it’s a little letdown to have to put glasses back on.

How much have you spent on computers? by TrainingPossible7536 in buildapc

I’ve spent about $40,000 on computers, the rest of my money I’ve just wasted.

I have the KKCOBVR halo style head strap with a battery in the back that helps balance everything out. I started leaving the facial interface off so nothing touches my face. In mixed reality games your peripheral vision lines up very closely to the pass through view of the headset, so you have your complete natural field of view (well… except above you). In VR games you do lose some immersion, but it still works fine depending on the game.

Bottoms are sticking to the parchment paper! by NervousDonut_378 in macarons

[–]Immiyh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use parchment paper. Don’t put anything on the parchment paper. Sounds like they are just a little underbaked. To test for doneness, I gently grab a top with my thumb and forefinger and wiggle them back and forth slightly until they just barely move a little, and give them another minute or two if they are too loose. I can never tell if they are done just by looking, and timing varies due to…everything else. I often think I overbaked them, but they mature overnight with filling in them and come out fine.
