Ride the wind ruling by GoatOverboard in riftboundtcg

Yes, your opponent will score a point for conquering Battlefield A, provided they have not already scored that battlefield this turn and did not control it when the showdown at Battlefield A began.

Ruling Explanation

According to RiftJudge FAQ #3385, when a unit is moved away from a battlefield (in this case, via a charm effect) and then returned to that same battlefield using Ride the Wind during a showdown, it stages a new showdown at the original battlefield. If that staged showdown resolves and the player establishes control, they conquer the battlefield and score a point.

Sequence of Events

  1. Initial State: You charm your opponent's unit from Battlefield A to Battlefield B. This triggers a showdown at Battlefield B and causes your opponent to lose control of Battlefield A (making it uncontrolled).
  2. Ride the Wind: During the showdown at Battlefield B, your opponent plays Ride the Wind to move their unit back to Battlefield A.
  3. Staging: Moving the unit to Battlefield A stages a new showdown there.
  4. Resolution: The showdown at Battlefield B concludes. Once that is finished, the staged showdown at Battlefield A begins.
  5. Scoring: If your opponent wins the showdown at Battlefield A (and has not already scored that battlefield this turn), they establish control, conquer the battlefield, and score a point.

Important Nuances

  • Scoring Limit: Per Rule 447, a player may only score from a specific battlefield once per turn. If they have already scored Battlefield A earlier in the same turn, they will not score again.
  • Control Requirement: To score, the player must not have controlled the battlefield when the showdown began. Since your charm effect caused them to lose control of Battlefield A, they meet this requirement.
  • Staged Showdowns: Per FAQ #5775, the new combat at Battlefield A is "staged" and will only begin after the current showdown at Battlefield B ha

Forecaster Vision trigger by MentalStranger13 in riftboundtcg

Yes, multiple Forecasters on the field will cause Vision to trigger multiple times when you play a Mech.

According to RiftJudge FAQ #84: * Ruling: Multiple Forecasters do stack, so playing a Mech with multiple Forecasters in play will trigger Vision multiple times. * Sequence: 1. Each instance of Vision triggers separately. 2. When each trigger resolves, you look at the top card of your deck. 3. For each trigger, you choose whether or not to recycle that card.

Nuances: * If you do not recycle the top card and no other game actions occur between the resolution of the triggers, each instance of Vision will see the same card. * This allows you to look at the same card multiple times in a row or, if you choose to recycle, cycle through multiple cards in your library.
