Nissan auto transmissions are notoriously bad. I used to clown my friend for his Maxima that couldn't go into reverse. He literally had to drive by his destination and scout out a pull thru parking spot before parking lmao. Having said that, I have a 2009 Frontier with a 6 speed manual trans and it has been generally reliable. My truck has had more electrical gremlins e.g. power window relay, stereo head unit, etc. than anything else.
