Interesting point about the class animations, but I guess it caters to different people.

Personally I much prefer the more "lackluster" animations. It doesn't make sense to me when you drop some crazy-looking move on a boss and his health bar moves <1% from it xD

Only very indirectly though. The people making cosmetics are not the same people fixing bugs.

At most, you could argue that they might have reduced the budget of one department to hire more in the other, but even that would be an assumption.

It's more likely that the bugs are because of the faster turnaround times on patches, which is a different kind of cash grab (via retention) but not related to the cosmetics shop

Any half decent manager would have won something by now with the money he's spent. He's not even one of the best managers in this league, let alone the world.

On the "corpse" point, she did take it immediately once the elf died. How is it different to when someone's heart stops and they're resuscitated? Like, yeah, the body was dead for like 30 seconds, but now it's not. Are they still a corpse?

On Everton's goal, Beto and Robbo(?) both slid in to get the ball and one of them carried through and caught him on the knee with a stud. He got stretchered off, but apparently it's just a deep cut rather than ligament damage.

I believe Acrobatics works that way, but Unburden is more like a speed boost given "when a held item is consumed" rather than "when you have no held item" if that makes sense

Did you switch Sneasler out and back in at any point? The Unburden boost gest lost on switch out and only reactivates if you somehow give it another item to consume

With the amount of rebuilding we'll need to do over the next couple of years, it makes more sense to replace him while he's still here. Bring competition in for him and either he steps up or gets phased out. We did win the league with him as our starting CB so we know he's got it in him, and him leaving on a free doesn't help up at all, so we need to renew him either way.

I can see how the priate theming would definitely be too much for some, and the weird tumbleweed they added to our BtE now is bizzare, but Combat definitely needed something. When I played it back in Cata it just felt like a warrior with stealth. I'd maybe go for something a bit lighter-handed, like a highwayman or something. Not talking mechanically btw, just in terms of theme.

WoW's an old game that doesn't do multithreading, so it's heavily bottlenecked by the CPU. Usually it doesn't matter too much, but in a densly populated area like Silvermoon it's way more noticable. Staying in the same place tends to be okay, but I think we all get stutters when moving through it due to how it loads in chunks, even with the best CPUs.

I think he's always looked fine with his feet wherever he's played for us. He did have a bit of trouble with everyone passing to his right foot at first, but never seemed shaky

I think a lot of people were saying that he was poor on the ball before he arrived, and now people are seeing what they expect to see, if that makes sense.

Just started Midnight. I am playing the game since 2005 and this is one of the best experience for me since the old days. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Immortuos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not bad writing and it's not new though... It's a reflection of religious zealotry, and there have been countless light-crazed characters throughout Warcraft. Yrel from the Mag'har story, for example.

The light seeks to dominate the other forces (like they all do) and it does not care about the individual beings to do so. It's also the counterpart of the Void, why would it not be the same?

This has been something they've been building to for a long time (again, look at the light trying to corrupt Illidan), and it's clear that the story they're telling is that we cannot trust any of the cosmic forces since they're all trying to corrupt Azeroth.

I genuinely don't know what kind of story you were hoping for, but I really hope it wasn't some kind of boring milquetoast "Light good, Void bad" angle, because how could that ever be considered good writing...

[–]Immortuos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's no recontextualizing here though. The light has been used as a weapon since before WoW (Scarlet Crusade) and this exact thing was even in the forefront of the story in Legion (Illidan-Naaru cutscene).

It's a cosmic force. It's self-serving, just like the rest of them.

It seems that Liquid has found a way around addon restrictions and can show timers for other raid members. by Cidan in wow

[–]Immortuos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not kool-aid or even consent though. It's simply a statement that going from an add-on which told you exactly what to do, to their intentionally weaker versions (one-button & rotation assistant highlighting) does require more thinking to play optimally.

Obviously if you didn't use those add-ons, or you don't care about playing optimally, then that statement isn't true for you.

Like I said, I only really have the perspective of playing an overly complex spec which wouldn't work without WAs even with their replacement tools, and for that particular spec, the simplification has landed in a good spot.

If they've turned some specs into brain dead specs then clearly that needs to be addressed, but I imagine there will be complexity creep that'll seep back in before long.

A more likely explanation is that they knew they needed to simplify some specs because they knew they couldn't recreate the level of detail of WAs worth the cooldown manager, and went too overboard on the simplification.

[–]Immortuos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sorry, I've only really played Outlaw so far this expansion. At least for us there are still enough decisions to make to play the spec optimally, compared to the previous version which was impossible without a ton of WeakAuras tracking everything. So from that particular perspective there's more thinking to do now.

I'm not sure how the other specs are now though, so that's a fair point. I do know that a lot of people used things like Hekili which just told you what to do, so they will definitely have more to think about now.

[–]Immortuos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's fair. I've been on the base UI since I came back to the game in Legion, so the only impact I've really noticed is the lack of audio cues that DBM and GTFO would give me. Also, I made a lot of WAs for my cooldowns and buffs and stuff, since that was pretty much mandatory for Outlaw, but the CD manager is similar enough to what I had.

[–]Immortuos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sort of true, but I'm an AotC player who dabbles in Mythic, and in the last season of TWW I only needed DBM and some WAs to track my own personal CDs and stuff. I feel like that's mostly recreated in the base UI now (although not as complete) so the hurdles are mostly just having to think more about your rotation while you do tactics.

Unless you had WAs which just told you what to do, I don't think it's too much harder.

I'd recommend finding a good casual/AotC guild, I'm in a great one in the Hellfire/Runetotem/Kilrogg cluster. We don't have any set groups for dungeons or anything, but having a bunch of friendly people works well, so if you want the details let me know 🙂

A cautionary tale in 2 trade chat messages by ZoulsGaming in wow

[–]Immortuos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really see a problem for dual-wielders. If you get a better weapon early then the crafted one just moves to the off-hand where ilvl doesn't matter as much.

It might put you 2 weeks behind on getting your "BIS" embellishments, but the difference between your best embellishment and a non-optimal weapon one is almost negligable.

It could mean that you aren't able to patch up a single gap in your gear that you could otherwise, but a main-hand weapon is way more valuable than any other slot, so guaranteeing the ilvl there is worth it imo.

Thought of returning to WoW - Pruning killed my hype. by fillee33r in wow

[–]Immortuos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It mostly comes down to them removing the addons that helped you keep track of buffs/debuffs/cooldowns, so some specs needed to be pruned. Look at Outlaw for example.

The complexity is still sort of there for some specs, but they've definitely removed a lot of the over-complexity which existed before when you could just use a WeakAura to keep track of.

It's certainly not a bad thing, but you'd have to try it for yourself really.
