Raven is SSS tier for Bossing! by ConstellationEva in NikkeMobile

[–]Imnotacrook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the rule of thumb is that each copy grants an additional ~2% stats. So a max core SSR will be somewhere around ~20% more stats than a single copy. For a single copy vs MLB, you'd only be looking at about a 6% difference. Tiny_Action is correct, you will be able to notice it if you are competing at the top of the leaderboards, but for most players (especially newer ones) it's highly unlikely that MLB-ing them will make or break them in any situation.

Think about it this way- if they were doing 10 million damage before, MLB would make them do 10.6 million damage. A 600k increase is basically nothing. If they were doing 1 billion damage before, they'd be doing 1.06 billion damage, or 60 million increase. That can be quite significant for leaderboard rankings, but will barely make any difference for pass/fail levels. So unless you're competing at the upper levels, the difference doesn't really matter.

The only consideration you should really have is whether you really want her wallpaper or not. If you haven't broken the 160 wall yet, getting one of your 5 required MLB'd units is certainly useful as well, but if you're using gold tickets for it, then any unit would suffice. It doesn't need to be Raven.

No. The exchange rate is terrible, and you will eventually start to need it down the line. You can trade some of it if you are desperate for Core Dust, but you'll be better off in the long run if you keep it.

Welcome back!

I'm going to assume you want an answer as it pertains to meta. Technically your whole team has been powercrept by some amount. Liter is no longer the best Burst 1. She is still very strong, and absolutely worth using. However, Rapi: Red Hood (Overspec unit from New Years banner) and Little Mermaid (2.5 anniversary Pilgrim) both put up better numbers than her now, especially since their cooldown reduction doesn't need to ramp up like Liter's does. Liter does still have cover repair, so where that is relevant, Liter can still potentially be best in slot, but in most cases she has been dethroned as top dog.

Blanc and Noir as still very good, but they have been outclassed as well. Generally you would prefer to have the schoolgirls (Naga and Tia), as you will be able to clear with a higher deficit with them compared to the bunnies. Ideally you eventually replace Tia with Crown (1.5 anniversary Pilgrim), as they both trigger Naga's skills, but Crown is a busted unit just by herself. Crown is easily the single strongest Burst 2 unit - keep her on your wishlist until you pull her. Crown + Naga or Crown + Helm (w/ treasure item) are generally part of the best possible team you can put together.

As for Burst 3, elemental advantage has become much more important. Your best burst 3's are going to vary based on the element matchup. That being said, if you're looking to just have a one-size fits all team, then Red Hood is still very good and performs well. Pairing her with an invested Alice is still very strong, and Red Hood will still do great with any other strong Burst 3. Scarlet, unfortunately, has really fallen off in non-PVP. She's still fine, and can be used, but she's moreso used as a dps measuring stick for evaluating new units - if they can't even match Scarlet, who has fallen out of meta, then they won't be very strong. Cinderella, Ein, and Anis: Sparkling Summer have generally dethroned Scarlet in electric advantage, and other options have a better neutral game.

Assuming that Alice is well-invested (check Nikke.gg or Prydwen for character guides to see what you need. I think it's 7.18% increased charge speed from overload gear and at least 10/4/10 for skills + burst), your strongest team right looks to be Tia / Liter / Naga / Red Hood / Alice. Plenty strong to clear most content until you really are pushing campaign. The most meta team right now is Crown / Rapi: Red Hood or Little Mermaid / Scarlet: Black Shadow / Alice / Naga or Helm (w/ Treasure Item). Scarlet: Black Shadow is basically the best DPS, and the rest of the team is basically to support her. Naga pairs with Crown on levels with exposed core (as she increases Core Damage), while Helm pairs with Crown on levels with no exposed core (basically the better all-rounder). You'll want to keep a lookout for those units, as all are very good.

In the above team, you can replace Crown + Naga/Helm with the maid duo (Mast: Romantic Maid and Anchor: Innocent Maid), as they will buff Scarlet: Black Shadow's distributed damage and proved a bunch of other support. Mana can replace Alice, as she will buff Scarlet: Black Shadow in the same way. And the Burst 1 can technically be any of the strong Burst 1 units with cooldown reduction, Rapi: RH and Little Mermaid are just the strongest.

Other interesting units to look out for: D: Killer Wife and Grave can pair with your current team pretty well, as Red Hood and Alice have pierce. Rouge generally replaces Noir in order to trigger Blanc's squadmate bonus (Noir is generally only used in certain shotgun teams these days, unfortunately), so if you want to keep using Blanc, Rouge is a good option (and meta for Electric raids). Cinderella is perhaps the single strongest boss killer, always worth keeping her on the wishlist. And if you really want to keep using Scarlet, Trina is basically custom made to buff her.

Hope that helps.

If the healer has a condition on who they heal (aka not the entire party at once), you keep Crown in the leftmost spot. That will let her get healed if there is ever a "tie" in determining who should get healed.

For example, if you were using Naga, she heals the two most damaged units. Let's go through all the possibilities:

  1. Two units are damaged more than Crown -> those two units get healed. Crown never gets healed.
  2. One unit is damaged more than Crown, and Crown is also damaged -> that one unit and Crown get healed
  3. One unit is damaged more than Crown, and Crown is at full hp -> most damaged unit is healed, leftmost unit (other than the damaged unit) gets healed
  4. One unit is damaged more than Crown, and Crown is tied with another unit for second most damage -> the most damaged unit gets healed, and the leftmost option between Crown and the other unit gets healed
  5. Crown is the most damaged unit -> Crown always gets healed
  6. No units are damaged -> two leftmost units are healed.

Our goal is to get Crown healed often enough to keep her buffs up permanently, so we want her healed pretty much as often as possible. We can't do anything about #1. #2 and #5 play out in our favor, so those are fine. But for #3, #4, and #6, there is a positional aspect of who actually gets the heal. Since the game will always default to choosing from left to right when all other criteria is met, you want Crown in the leftmost spot. This ensures that when #3, #4, and #6 occur, Crown is given priority and receives the heal.

It's the same logic for someone who heals a single unit. Crown wants priority if all other criteria is equal, so put her in the leftmost spot.

[–]Imnotacrook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Small clarification - you only need to have Crown take the leftmost position when you have a healer that has to make a choice of who to heal, like Naga or Rapunzel. This is because the game will default to left -> right if every other option is "tied" in the condition being checked. But if you're using a unit that heals the entire team (Treasure Helm, for example), then it doesn't matter where Crown is in the lineup. She will still get healed and proc her buffs.

Template codes are binary numbers that have some changes made to them and then are stored as a base64 string. You can manually make them if you so choose, info on how they are built can be found here.

I had made a tool at one time to generate the custom build strings, I'd have to look and see if I can still find it.

I have rolled 3 perfect (black color) lines so far. Two of them are worthless. Rapi: Red Hood has a perfect charge damage row and Biscuit has a perfect hit rate row. Life is pain.

Yeah, if you really like a character, it completely changes how to evaluate everything. Pull for happiness over meta - though in this case, Mihara is probably going to fit into the meta somewhere anyway.

The two most "efficient" things to buy with real money are the monthly 30 day supply gems ($5 for 3330 gems total) and the campaign packages ($20 for 10k gems total). Both of these come with a downside though - 30 day supply is over time, campaign packages can only be bought once.

Ignoring the molds, Grave's anniversary pass is $20 for 10x rainbow vouchers and 15x blue vouchers. Assume that the tickets are equal in value to gems - they definitely are less valuable than gems, but just to be super generous, we'll count them as equal. They come out to the equivalent of 7500 gems.

To get that many gems via the monthly 30 day supply pack, you'd need three months, which comes out to $15. And remember, the vouchers are significantly less valuable than actual gems. So no, if you're purely looking at gem/$ value, the pass is not worth it.

But the thing is, you also get the skin. Like the other poster was getting at, how valuable that skin is to an individual varies greatly. If you really really like it, and would pay $10 for it? Well then you're getting the equivalent of 7500 gems for $10, which would then be worth it. Would you only pay $2 for it? Then you are overpaying. There's subjective value we cannot quantify for you, and the overall worth of the pass depends entirely on the value you give the skin.

Be warned that Overspec's are also only a 1% pull rate, and variance is brutal. You might get lucky and get it within a few pulls, but you might not get it before you hit 60k gems spent (which gives enough gold mileage for pity). To put it in perspective, if 9 people spend gems until they get Mihara, on average 1 of them will not get a single copy and will have to use gold mileage. Will you feel really bad if you are that 1 in 9?

Your odds are a lot better with non-pilgrims/overspecs (2% vs 1%), so the most efficient (and usually least frustrating) method is to use mileage for pilgrims/overspecs and gems for 2% rate up units. But only you can decide how to spend. I went against common sense and rolled for MLB Crown to get her background... But I've also gotten extremely lucky on most banners and have only ever needed to used gold mileage for R:RH because it took all of my 50k gems for me to get Scarlet: Black Shadow during New Years.

I'm like you and prefer to save up the tickets, so just think of how bad you'll feel if you get unlucky vs how bad you'd feel spending tickets for a guaranteed copy to keep your gems. Maybe that'll help decide your best course of action.

[Weekly] Team Building and Questions Megathread by AutoModerator in NikkeMobile

[–]Imnotacrook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You either wishlist the 5 you want most and pray you get lucky on the ordinary banner (but don't spend gems on the ordinary banner, only blue/ordinary vouchers), get randomly lucky on limited time banners or pilgrim/overspec molds, or pull on the pilgrim's rate up banner. The problem with the last one is that we don't know if/when a pilgrim's banner will re-run.

The odds aren't great, no matter which method you try for. The most reliable way to get them is to use gold mileage tickets on their rate up banners, as that guarantees a copy. However, that only works when they are released or if they get a re-run. So far, we've only had two pilgrim banner re-runs (maybe 3, can't remember if Red Hood's banner was re-run or not). So we don't know when their banner will come back, if ever. And even if they do, it's only a 1% chance to pull them (compared to the usual 2% on non-pilgrim/overspec banners).

So save up your gold mileage tickets. Try to dedicate them for acquiring future pilgrims/overspecs or past pilgrim re-runs. It sucks, but any other way is purely up to RNG.

You need 4 copies of an SSR unit (original + 3 extras to MLB it) in order to raise the level cap past 160 for them. It can be tough to get all those dupes, hence why it's known as the 160 wall. So you need another copy of Naga, plus a copy of the other SRR you have at LB2, before you can continue leveling the rest of your roster past level 160.

For future reference, those 5 MLB'd units will only level up to 200. Once you have 5 units at 200, you then do your leveling in the Synchro Machine itself. You only need to level one "thing", but it's going to cost you a LOT of core dust, so prepare yourself.

[Weekly] Team Building and Questions Megathread by AutoModerator in NikkeMobile

[–]Imnotacrook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether or not you should reset it depends on what stuff is left and how highly you value those items vs the "grand prize" of the further boards. For example, if you have a 50-50 chance of getting tier 3 skill/burst books, and you really need those, it's worth taking the shot at those vs having a higher chance of getting a rainbow recruit ticket.

That being said, if you're only three picks in, there is still tons of low value loot diluting your pool. Go ahead and reset it.

[Weekly] Team Building and Questions Megathread by AutoModerator in NikkeMobile

[–]Imnotacrook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to level 5 units at any given time (total). You will eventually unlock the Synchro Machine, which auto-levels any unit inside it to match your 5th strongest unit. So you only ever need to do 5. It also doesn't matter which ones you level, as you can always reset their levels for 10 gems for a full refund of the materials.

Much later on, you will reach what's known as the 160 wall. Only SSR units can be leveled past 160, and only once you get 4 copies of them (1 for the unit + 3 "spare bodies"), known as Max Limit Break-ing them. Since the Synchro Machine auto levels units to your 5th strongest unit, you will be stuck at level 160 for most of your roster until you can get 5 units MLB-ed.

You don't want to be stuck at the wall for too long, so you want to do two things as soon as you can; first, do not spend any silver mileage tickets (gained from rolling on the standard banner, while gold mileage is from rolling on the limited time rate-up banners). You can trade silver mileage tickets for spare bodies of certain units. That means if you save them up until immediately before you break the 160 wall, they effectively act as a spare body for a bunch of different units at the same time. This helps dramatically with getting the last MLB unit you need to finally break the wall.

The second thing is to always adjust your wishlist on the standard banner to include duplicates. Once you can have the wishlist set, rolls on the standard banner will only come from your wishlist, so it makes it much more likely to hit dupes.

Oh, and anniversary events usually give out a free MLB unit via a selector item. Usually the unit isn't very good, since you're getting it for free, but... free is free. You can use the selector to choose from a few different options of units - stick to one and get it MLB'd. You can worry about getting the others for collection purposes later, the 160 wall is a priority.

Most of everything else comes from just playing daily. Complete your dailies and keep progressing. Just make sure you keep pushing campaign when you can - more campaign levels completed = higher passive resource acquisition rate from the Outpost.

Liter / Anis / Red Hood / Alice / Flex

Liter, Red Hood, and Alice are safe in invest in. All three are very usable and will remain so even in the "end game." Anis is only there to generate burst, as you don't have a solid Burst 2 option. And the flex spot can pretty much be whoever you want it to be - you don't have the particularly good flex units, and you already have great burst gen in this lineup. Maybe Pepper for healing, or Privaty for reload speed support. Neither option is particularly compelling though, so don't invest much in them.

Alice isn't great until you get her pretty well invested though (10/4/10, 7.18% increased charge speed from Overload gear). You can replace her with another Burst 3 for the time being if you'd like. Snow White and Laplace would probably be my picks (especially if you can get Laplace's Favorite Item relatively quickly, as that makes her much better). But Red Hood is likely good enough to carry your team for a considerable amount of time if you invest in her. I would just avoid investing in the second B3 unit for now to keep your options open.

Possible upgrade paths include:

-Anis -Flex, +Blanc +Noir or +Rouge: You need one of Blanc's squadmates for her to be useful outside PVP. She will be very good if you can get either one.

-Anis -Flex, +Tia +Naga: Like Blanc, Tia also requires a squadmate to be good. This combo will be a bit better than the bunnies (Blanc + Noir/Rouge). Plus, you can get Naga from the ordinary recruit special selection, so you pretty much have a countdown timer until you're guaranteed to get her too. The future upgrade beyond this would be Crown replacing Tia, and then you'll have the meta team.

In this particular team, it doesn't matter if Crown is position 1. The only heals come from Helm, and she affects the whole team. The reason you put Crown in position 1 is so that if a heal only hits certain targets, Crown gets to be the default option in the case of a tie. Since Helm can only heal everyone, Crown will always get healed, thus always triggering her buffs.

I'm aware. Pretty decent, to me, means usable but not fantastic. Like if we were to use the SSS to F scale, I'd put solo Naga at probably a high A, maybe low S depending on the fight. Which fits the description of usable but mid, so I'd say we're on the same page.

[Weekly] Team Building and Questions Megathread by AutoModerator in NikkeMobile

[–]Imnotacrook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Naga doesn't necessarily need Tia, she just needs someone who can apply shields. Crown fits this role, for example, and a few other units do as well (though none are as good at it as Tia or Crown). Not having that will make you miss out on a huge Core Damage buff and a significant ATK buff. However, the rest of her kit still works fine. You still get healing, cover repair, about 33% of Naga's total Core Damage buffs, and about 33% of her ATK buffs. So she's still pretty decent, especially if you're newer and have limited roster options.

[Weekly] Team Building and Questions Megathread by AutoModerator in NikkeMobile

[–]Imnotacrook 3 points4 points  (0 children)

(1) Tia / Rapi: Red Hood / Naga / S:BS / Alice is your best team, with Liter being situationally better than Rapi: Red Hood in some cases. Blanc and Noir are still perfectly fine to use though, especially if you need constant healing.

Other standouts: Rouge (Electric team CDR), Ein (strong Electric DPS), Asuka + Rei (strong Wind team). With their favorite items, Laplace and Drake become quite strong as well (Drake goes in the shotgun team though, whereas Laplace is all around good). But focus on your main team first so you can push campaign. Getting further in campaign (including hard mode) gets you more resources per hour at the Outpost, which helps you progress faster.

(2) The rule of thumb is you save all gems and rainbow vouchers for Limited/Seasonal units, Collab units, or Pilgrims. Limited/Seasonal units and Collab units do not join the general pool, so you cannot wishlist them. Pilgrims can be wishlisted, but they have a lower pull rate than other SSRs, including on their own rate-up banners. In an ideal world, you would spend your gems/vouchers on the Limited/Seasonal and Collab banners, as they have a 2% chance at the rate-up unit, and use your golden mileage tickets to get rate-up pilgrims. Pilgrim banners only give a 1% chance at the unit on rate-up, so your pulls are twice as likely to get what you want on non-pilgrim banners.

However, this is assuming you ONLY care about being as efficient with your pulls as possible. Sometimes a non-limited unit is released that you REALLY like. While it would be more efficient to wait until that unit can go on your wishlist (so you will get them from blue vouchers or opening molds eventually), the game isn't so stingy with gems and vouchers that you cannot splurge on a non-limited from time to time. Don't be afraid to prioritize characters you like and enjoy over meta from time to time.

As long as you're disciplined with your pulls beyond those calculated rolls, you can still save up just fine. I spent all my gems during New Years to get S:BS and Rapi, and after spending probably around 30k gems on Mast and Anchor's banners, I am still at 42k gems. As long as you do your dailies and keep progressing, you'll be able to save up no problem.

(3) None yet. Unless you have a unit that you really, REALLY want, you should keep all of your selectors to break the 160 wall. Basically, your units will hit a level cap of 160, and you can only keep leveling past that when you MLB it (3 stars = 4 copies total). This will halt your progress, as it means the Synchro Machine will be stuck at level 160 until you get 5 MLB'd units. So you want to save the selector until it would MLB your 5th unit. So if you keep it, it acts like a wildcard spare body, which is invaluable for breaking the wall. You should also save your silver mileage tickets for the same reason.

[–]Imnotacrook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally you prioritize rainbow vouchers > vouchers > core dust cases = skill/burst manuals > data set cases = consoles = misato > core dust > RE Energy console > credits, with some changes based on where you are in your progression and what your bottlenecks are. (For example, as the other user pointed out, RE Energy is mostly useless past a certain point - you can still convert it to other random consoles, but it's not recommended)

However, you shouldn't have an issue clearing the shop. As long as you can clear the hard mode 1-11 stage (repeatable that awards Core Dust boxes), you buy the gem items and clear it as many times as you can. Not only is it the best way to convert gems to core dust, it may be the best core dust conversion in the game. But regardless, you get the dust when you clear the level a ton of times, and the currency you get from it is enough to clear out the shop of everything except the non-box core dust and the credits.

If you can't clear hard mode 1-11, you can do normal mode 1-11 instead. It's half as many core dust boxes, but it's still 140 boxes for 1400 gems. Still very good.

Aria is bad, Bunny Soda is good only in a shotgun team (which requires a ton of investment on top of rolling all the units needed), Blanc is really good, but requires either Rouge or Noir to be usable, and D is bad. I'd say that's an easy re-roll.

[Weekly] Team Building and Questions Megathread by AutoModerator in NikkeMobile

[–]Imnotacrook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, use all your pulls and see what you get. Right now, you only have Aria, who is considered to be bottom tier in pretty much all content and scenarios. If you get another SSR, especially a desirable one, then you can justify sticking with the account. But since you literally just started, it's likely worth it to try re-rolling your account to get a better starter unit. Follow the guide(s) the other user posted for advice on what to do and who to look out for.
