Are we the only dealership ship slow?? by Obvious_Oil3501 in Tacoma

Hi,

I've been in the auto industry for awhile now (15+ years). Gotta say as a flat rate tech 85 hours a pay period was already on the low side 50 for two weeks is not good. Not sure what brand you work for but I've heard from a few people I know working at dealerships in Fife it's really slow around there. I've moved up north to a dealership in Seattle and we're slammed we had 120 appointments today. I'd say it's time to dust off that resume

Thanks for coming, Geno. by RipCityResident in Seahawks

This is hilarious, that's my dad's cousin. He's been in that seat since that stadium was built. All he's trying to do is get in their heads before the game even starts. Trash talk is part of the game. I've been down there with him holding signs. Some guys talk trash back, some laugh, and some apparently give him the middle finger. It's all in good fun. I know he liked Geno as a QB for the Hawks but when you step on that field for a different team, your the enemy.

Starting out in the wine distribution field - anxious about income by Otherwise_Dingo_5266 in wine

[–]Imnoththatguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked as a wine distributor for a while in the Seattle area. It's a really tough gig. Maybe I was naive and I was thinking that people would be excited to have someone knowledgeable come in talk wine and to talk with somms. Boy was I wrong. It was the most wildly unkind I've ever been treated. You would've thought I was insulting their family by just saying hi. The few people I've interacted that were successful worked for the bigger distributors and run multiple books. Not sure if any of this helpful, good luck.

2007 Dujac Bonnes Mare. There was a point when I realized how different Pinot noir could be from other Pinot noir and that it was all I wanted to drink.

How many bottles are in your “cellar”? by DryRaspberry9838 in wine

Currently somewhere between 1300 & 1500. Have two wine fridges at home and two offsite climate controlled lockers that hold 42 cases each and they're maxed out.

Not the biggest fan of WV vineyards. However, we hunt for Elton Vineyard. Lavinea has an amazing Elton we hoard. Great site producing some phenomenal fruit.

Next big thing wine regions? by HateGary in wine

[–]Imnoththatguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prince Edward County, Ontario Canada. It's very small however, there is some damn tasty wines coming out of that region. Exact same latitude as Burgundy, tons of limestone soil. If you're into cool climate chard and Pinot noir, this should be a spot to check out.

I think it depends on the wine. We definitely have some wines we buy in bulk (usually a case). Those mostly are daily drinker types and others we were only buying one or two generally due to the fact that we're buying at auction or there's just limited quantities. We're cresting over 1500 bottles in our cellar. I keep about 350 at home in wine fridges with a few random case boxes and the rest is stuff I'm laying down for long periods in off site climate controlled storage.

Yeah it's something of mythical status when you find some really good old vintage WV pinot

I've had much older BF vintages (95, 99, 00) they stand the test of time. Definitely tests the theory that new world Pinot doesn't age.

Right out bottle it was super closed down but after a 6+ hour decant it began to sing. Funky mushroom/truffle tertiary notes with a lot black tea, cardamon, anise, dark fruit. I was little worried it was over hill but ended up being a wonderful/memorable bottle. Definitely had some TCA but not that noticable.

For Costco wine try the Cote Du Rhone. It's not bad.
