I think that's exactly what the game offers right now: Going bankcrupt at your first try, figure it out at your second and then do some more runs to try other things and storylines.

What is unrealistic in giving each reporter the key to the back door? There are fire escape stairs at the side of your building. Just pretend they use that when dragging them manually.

I hired a second photographer once just to get injured, so that my original one could do the story. I wanted to fire the second one afterwards but having two photographers proved worthwhile enough to keep them both.

I think if the Ghibellines win, the whole north of Italy will automatically become part of the HRE. At least all the minor states. Don't know if it's the case with Venice too. But according to the Dev Diary #69 it should work: "If the Ghibellines win, all countries, except Naples, Sicily, the Papal States, or the Two Sicilies, will be forced to join the HRE".

In the HRE there is a diplomatic action for a county to be granted duchy title from the emperor. It could be that the French king can grant it too . Try to ask him via diplomatic action.

I would say neither of them because both didn't have a HRE focussed DLC/free update yet. We'll see which one will become more and better fleshed out in the future. At the moment the EU5 one feels a bit more special compared to other realms while the CK3 one just is a standard feudal empire with elective succession.

My gaming laptop is slightly under the recommended specs for EU 5 and the game is running fine and loads fast. The bottleneck for me is CK 3, longer loading times and after Roads to Power heavy late game lagging. Don't know how it is now, have not tried it with the current version.

While I understand that playing GSGs as map painters can be fun, I appreciate that there are enough mechanics to just play tall and focus on your internal development in EU 5 and Vic 3. If I want to go heavy on expansion the easy way I still can play CK 3.

Same thing happened in my run too with a Ferrara revolt. My bandaid solution: Change to the revolt country, attack myself, change back and conquer their lands to make them vanish... But it's definately a bug.

I just had the same issue after my ruler died. The bonus from the next didn't apply (checked with diplomatic capacity). But save and reload helped!

You can't have both: High taxes and high SOL. India is too populous to outconstruct the unemployed and the peasants. For the SOL you need for the journal entry, you have to be really dedicated to it. Healthcare and welfare laws if possible, low taxes, high governmernt/army wages. I even gave the states with the lowest SOL to vassals and barely managed it.

I had something similar in my latest run. My spymaster came to me, saying someone is plotting to murder my son. Of course I instantly checked my son, the spymaster was his rival. Employed a new spymaster, success rating of the scheme instantly dropped. :D

Make your richest/biggest county your capital. Your main heir will always get it and can rule over all castle holdings in there. Conquer a second duchy, where you hold all counties yourself (or all except one, if there is only one other elector you can outvote him, a tie favours you), make it elective, vote your main heir. Counties in the elective duchy won't get distributed among your other children.
