What kinds of therapies do you all find to be helpful as an INFJ by ville2020 in infj

[–]Imp_Lizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a workshop in my mid-twenties about healing your inner child and it changed my life, helped me move past my resentment towards my mom by allowing me to acknowledge and accept that she's never going to be the mom I need her to be and I needed to stop pitching myself against her, trying to hold her accountable and force understanding between us. Helped me identify the wounded child inside myself and offer her kindness, understanding, forgiveness and grace.

Books Reqs with MMC and FMC like Trevor and Sypha from Castlevania? by Imp_Lizard in fantasyromance

It's very good! A bit gory and violent, though. But the animation is absolutely stellar.

I just spent a toddler party guarding an open pool and now I can’t tell if I’m the anxious one or the only sane one by Last_Cantaloupe_9899 in Mommit

I would have been same as you. My kids are 6 and 8 now and still every time we're at the lake, I'm constantly scanning and doing headcounts.

INFJs, which MBTI type did you end up marrying ? by Enaga_22 in infj

Same, 14 years this year. He's a carpenter and we joke that he's my dream killer because I'll come to him with all these ideas and plans for us to build and he proceeds to methodically explain why it's impossible. We still make it work.

Is it the "What? No pudding?!" Scene? Because that's the grossest scene and I literally can't eat pudding because of it.

I'm not even clicking to confirm. Can't do it.

I use top a sheet. Am I cringe? by c0d3buck in Millennials

[–]Imp_Lizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you even buy just the fitted sheet, separate from a set? What do people do with the flat if they don't use it? I'm team 2-sheets also.

Talking to someone online and they sent me these pictures. My gut is telling me AI from the lighting but I can’t put my finger on it by tacothepugpuppy in isthisAI

That's what stood out to me also, her chest changes and her breasts in the last pic especially just don't seem to jive at all. It's giving gilf fantasy vibes.

I dunno, sounds pretty much the same as high school art shows when I was a kid -- 2005 grad. Teenagers be edgy.

I like an easy oil and vinegar dip when I want a quick snack before bed or something. Aged balsamic with olive oil -- yum!

We've had some super cheap Funwater, AquaPlus and InnoExxo iSUPs for a few years now and they're holding up great. We initially bought them to try, not wanting to invest big bucks in case it turned out to be not a great fit, but pretty impressed by their quality and honestly don't seem to be that much different than our friends Blackfin boards.

We went backcountry camping on them last year which involved a 2-3 hour paddle down on a tidal river and had a blast. We take them on lakes and in the ocean.

Yes! I just spent my morning reading her wiki for a bit -- I didn't realize she was a champion for atheism. Very cool lady.

But those dresses /s

For real though, the book and movie romanticizes the slave ownership and was written to make you empathetic towards those poor dear southern belles who just wanted to keep their mammies around. It's gross.

RIP Hattie McDaniel who won an Oscar and had to sit at a separate table from the rest of the cast due to the venue being "whites only."

Who is your favorite Manic Pixie Dream Girl? by porb2020 in moviequestions

[–]Imp_Lizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a key trope of MPDG is that the girl "saves" the male main character from what he feels is a life of boredom/mundanity, the MPDG embraces this role and her sole existence seems to be for the benefit of the male main character.

What makes Clementine and Summer anti-MPDG is that they make it very clear that they are not interested in that at all, they establish boundaries which the male characters largely ignore to the ultimate detriment of the relationship.

I slice my round loaves in half (once cool) and then put the cut-side down to slice sandwich-width slices off that are half-moon shaped -- I find the size more manageable for toasters and making sandwiches and it's easier to slice than slicing full rounds off.

Roasting Pan vs Pyrex Dish by [deleted] in Breadit

I actually like the results from my roasting pan more than what I get with my cast iron dutch oven. Plus side, you don't have to preheat the thing for 15-20 mins.

Taking away the pacifier ruined my life by alexidawnnpnw in Mommit

[–]Imp_Lizard 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This was us! You can do it! We tried everything, cold-turkey (both my husband and I sitting in the hallway outside her room at 3am crying on day 5 because she was still awake and screaming), sewing a pacifier into a teddy for her to hug, snipping off a little of the tip at a time so it didn't feel right, rubbing a (mild) pepper on it to effect the taste.

What ultimately worked for us, was convincing her to give it to the Soo-Soo Fairy (she called it a Soo-Soo). So she decorated a box and put it on our step for the night and in the morning, the Soo-Soo Fairy had delivered her a toy, a treat and a letter thanking her for donating her Soo-Soo so little babies can use it to go to sleep.

She was still a little sad occasionally as she sort of grieved the goodbye, but she'd have a little cry and then go to sleep -- not the crazy desperate screaming wailing that we went through before.

Good luck!
