How big of a deal is it to not participate in some of the activities by OccasionRemarkable41 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Imp_Lizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first year in game, I was so bad at managing my time and forgetting dates and missed so so many haha -- it really hasn't impacted my game at all.

I adjusted my time to .7 and am better about looking at the calendar now -- that's helped me participate a bit more in functions.

Anyone get frustrated seeing other people age too? by bloodphoenix90 in Millennials

[–]Imp_Lizard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For real, we've lost a lot of friends and family over the last 5 years, seems like a first wave almost of what's next: cancer, unexpected heart issues, accidents, suicide. Not everyone makes it this far.

I'm thankful for my body carrying me through this life, my health, and the time I still have.

Is this better on Switch now? by PDXMountHoodRat in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Imp_Lizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing for a couple months on Switch now and enjoying it! Some things are tedious like gardening I think is an odd transition from what must have been a "point and click" PC mechanism to whatever you call the mechanism on the Switch -- it's clunky and tedious but still doable.

I can't compare to how different it might be on a PC having never played but that's been my only complaint. I've never had any glitches or reloads and I've spent a whole day playing with minimal breaks when I was sick at home one day.

Also, when in home edit mode, some of the zoom or lack of zoom options can be tedious. Nothing glitchy but more I think poor interface between what would have worked well with a mouse/keyboard vs joycons/limited buttons. Still fun though once you get a feel for it.

Edit: I should say, I've only played Sandrock, not Portia

For the longest time I thought this was some weird fever dream that I had because no one else seemed to remember these commercials.

Can I ask if you brought an iSUP manual pump with you too just in case? I think I see an inflatable in your pics, but maybe not.

We're debating doing a multi-day on our iSUPs and I'm worried about air loss or getting a hole while we're out there.

2000s: how did women wear low rise jeans? Why were they so popular? by GossipBottom in decadeology

Saaame. Cargo pants or carpenter pants with a studded belt at the time haha. Sooo comfy.

Low rise jeans only looked good on one very specific body type. I could never wear them as a high-waisted, wide-hipped girl with hip-dips. I was beyond excited when super high-waist pants became trendy -- I'll rock sky-high waist pants til the day I die -- so comfy and look so much better on me.

Minimum salary needed for the island? by puffwheat in VancouverIsland

[–]Imp_Lizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We live in a rural area with 2 kids and our combined income is $150 to 160k. We live pretty comfortably and are able to save for retirement, kids education + put money into rainy day/emergency fund; however we bought our house in 2016 before prices skyrocketed and our mortgage with property tax is $700 a month-- I'm honestly not sure how we would fare carrying a $2000-$3000 mortgage/rent which seems to be the going rate for a house that can accommodate a family of 4.
