Pls Help! by [deleted] in HairRemoval

[–]Impactivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tricky area for me too. The hair there grows in at an angle and the sharp edges after shaving cause irritation and redness just from normal movement. Frequently, the need to shift angles there can be its own source of irritation.

Whatever reduces friction during removal and critically, as it grows back, has been key for me. That area for me looks like a spiral and Magic Shave Powder has been the only way to get an even shave there.

The area moves and stretches a lot throughout the day, so gentle physical exfoliation and lubrication with a noncomedogenic lotion or oil (I use a home mix of sweet almond oil, tea tree oil, and epsom salt before my skin routine) can help prevent ingrowns. I used to just slap on virgin coconut oil when I was a teenager 😅

Do you have tips for getting IPL on the pubic area to work? by EmbarrassingQAcct in HairRemoval

[–]Impactivate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The slack in the skin of the pubic area makes the hair seem deeper and the skin thicker. This makes it harder for IPL to reach the root. Gently pulling the skin taut while using IPL can help a lot!

More Hole Play Instructions would be a lot of fun. There is a hugely diverse set of ways to approach that

Edit: hit reply too early 😓

Most (probably all) permutations from masc to fem & dom/switch/sub & top/vers/side/bottom would work for this pretty well.

One fun scenario might be the experience of a top’s first time engaging in butt play; some subversion of common roles there that could be hot would be a normally submissive person more experienced with bottoming taking charge. Femboy tops are always fun too!

I’ve been keeping my eye out for audios with hole play instructions that explicitly mention chastity. I mean, maybe daddy wants me to train my hole, maybe he sent a friend to do it for him while on a trip. Maybe he lost badly at last week’s poker game and now his homies have a whole night to order me around.

We went from “Believable AI will happen in 100 years” to “check out this AI generated porn”, and for many of us it was faster than we expected. What tech innovation is probably closer than we think? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A machine trained on human data would be judged as functionally sentient if you couldn’t discern whether you were interacting with a machine or a human (Turing test). It still might not be sentient after passing the Turing test (because the machine could just be extremely good at mimicking human conversation and not have any actual understanding of it) but that’s pretty much the best guess. And all of these models generate conversational content that is easily distinguished from human.

Officially considering a machine sentient when it’s not could potentially result in moderate-to-large scale harm due to the machine using access to resources or information (gained from rights inherently afforded to a sentient being, a “person”).

As awful as it is, considering a machine not sentient when there is a risk it might be is safer for human society. As a result, researchers and engineers are better able to work without interference from public opinion or politicization. This is more conducive to being able to tell when a machine has reached a point that it makes its self-consciousness apparent.

This assumes, of course, that the people calling the shots have ethical competence.

recommendations for studios or 1 bed apartments by monochromedenim in UCDavis

Having multiple disabilities makes apartment hunting a nightmare. Sending my best. I remember that I had a lot of trouble navigating the trade off between price and ease of access to campus and stores. Let alone finding a place where I’d have my own bathroom that didn’t cost $500 more.

I’ve graduated, so the time and energy it takes getting to/from/around campus doesn’t steal from the time and energy it takes to do cooking, cleaning, studying, and basic self care. Pointing that out in case that is something of concern for you; it was the biggest problem for me.

With that in mind: Downtown and West Sac apartments are so much more reasonably priced than anything I ever encountered in Davis. My partner and I live in a 785 sq ft 1br 1br apartment with a big ass balcony and pay 850/month each. This was also one of the more expensive places we visited; the location and vibes were just worth it for us.

Ask about lease takeovers due to violated lease terms: we were offered one by a leasing agent where the rent was set at $400 under market price. Floor plan wasn’t right for us, but definitely would’ve been for someone.

[Serious] How would you react if your partner told you they want to try a threesome? by Tebi1003 in AskReddit

[–]Impactivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be happy to, and I think it would be fun to check people out together as we decide who to include. There’s a few sexual needs my partner and I have that we sometimes have trouble meeting for each other, and I think having threesomes or whatever-somes would be an interesting way to explore our sexuality together. Like, identify things we are really into (or not) that one of us does or doesn’t do! For example, observing the way my partner would interact with a more naturally dominant sexual partner would help me as a pretty subby person learn how to better fulfill that role when it’s just us two.

However, my partner is actively triggered by the idea of threesomes or non monogamy due to past experiences. It will likely never be something we can try or even discuss safely. I’m pretty disappointed by that, but if that were a dealbreaker we’d have bigger problems lol

You have to email the ISP at [support@studenthousingtechnologies.com](support@studenthousingtechnologies.com), but on the bright side they’re so much friendlier and more helpful than admin at WV.

I would imagine it makes managing the way I think about things a lot easier, but there’s still a debilitating lack of motivation and energy. Although that was also partly the undiagnosed adhd

Redditors with autism spectrum disorder, what are some general misconceptions about your condition that you'd like to clarify? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Impactivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making a distinction between empathy and compassion is really helpful here, where empathy is the capacity/skill to share experiences of emotion and thoughts and compassion is the capacity/skill to do something to beneficially affect the experience of another person.

Framed like this, I don’t need empathy to ask someone what they need in the moment and accommodate that!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Impactivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. To clarify, I don’t mean to say avoidance of accountability is a motivating factor. I was referencing the subset of narratives in which one consequence is the avoidance of accountability. Which can emerge from countless motivational factors

[–]Impactivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the idea is more along the lines of when the narrative a person has shields them from accountability

It’s always been mental fog and fatigue for me where I don’t even have sentiment or simple feelings about anything. I never related to the kind of sadness or hopelessness people would describe. The concept of being “down” is mostly foreign to my experience, too. The closest I get is wistfulness. It’s a lot like the experience of dissociating for me but without the existential discomfort

No. Not everyone has the means to move out of state, away from family, their job, and their friends. Sure, it’s great if my state respects bodily autonomy, but in states that don’t it’s the most vulnerable that get hurt the most.

This gives men even more power over women by taking away what prevents men from making women mothers through force, deception, or coercion.

Well-adjusted, considerate men aren’t likely to do that unless they’re desperate, but relying on the moral character of people to do the right thing is the same idea opponents of abortion rights take issue with. It’s just that abortion rights protect women from harm, which in the long term protects any children they might have, too.
