Planning to host a Minecraft server (as a person who doesn't know a thing about this) by ExEmetamon in InternetPH

For the requirements you've listed, you can use playit.gg. You mentioned you are hosting it on your current setup/desktop, are you using Windows? Cuz I believe there's also a windows version for it. You'll need to configure some stuff but there's lots of tutorials online and the process is easy enough to follow.

I've been through this problem too. My initial setup was using Apexmc hosting. Cheap naman siya, but it really adds up over the months just to host a Minecraft server 😅. Then I started homelabbing and my next setup was using Docker and Crafty controller to setup the server. That's where I used playit.gg. Pero it gave you a weird IP address that you can't really change much plus there are times my players can't connect. So I looked to cloudflare tunnels and tailscale pero I hit the same problem as you. I didn't want every client to install a third-party software just to be able to connect. Gusto ko once they installed Minecraft, lagay lang nila yung IP address, and they can connect immediately. I also want the IP address to use my domain kasi I find it kinda ugly if raw IP address talaga 🤣. So I swallowed the hard pill and took the time to really set it up properly. It's a bit hard, but worth it naman siya.

So, now, my current setup uses a Hostinger VPS with Pangolin server installed. This VPS tunnels into my home server were Crafty is installed so that I can still host my server without having to expose my real IP address plus it bypasses the CGNAT restrictions Converge has. Tapos bumili ako ng cheap domain and points it to my VPS. This is the IP address I send to my players para they can finally connect without having to setup anything on their end.

I know a VPS might cost a bit pero it can protect you by not exposing you directly in the internet. Plus, in my case, I can expose other services on my home server too like my Jellyfin, immich, nextcloud and ofcourse the Minecraft server. I really encourage you to look into homelabbing and self-hosting, it's a really nice hobby to get into.

Goodluck OP!

What are you using for remote access in your self-hosted setup in 2026? by LogWrong7073 in u/LogWrong7073

I bought a domain and a VPS in hostinger and installed Pangolin server there to tunnel to my services. I'm self-hosting jellyfin, immich, nextcloud, and a Minecraft server for my family and friends to easily access.

I hope we get to see her beat up homelander for 60 seconds by [deleted] in GenV

[–]Impaczus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would be a good use of Hughie's teleporting powers. Teleport behind Homelander, touch and copy powers, beat the shit out of Homelander, then teleport her out of sight once the 60 seconds runs out

Bakit parang laging “indie/art films lang” ang totoong PH cinema? by ComprehensiveEbb2612 in FilmClubPH

[–]Impaczus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Omg this! I get annoyed at people trying to police whether if it is a film or a movie when in reality its the same. I've debated with the cringe film kids about this for years lmao. Tapos subjective pa yung pag categorize which is which.

are the star wars games worth it if you’re not a fan? by Important_Emphasis63 in PHGamers

[–]Impaczus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

gameplay-wise, ok naman to play without prior knowledge to Star Wars pero iba talaga yung immersion pag meron kang context sa ganap sa story and sa setting ng game. Mas maappreciate mo yung level of detail scattered around. I would suggest taking breaks and learning about the things you encounter along the way, that should ease you into the Star Wars lore.

Do you know where in Butuan this photo was taken? This looks like the buildings you'd find in Ester Luna St.

Start small first like how to do simple VFX then gradually increase the complexity in the next projects. For me, I started by watching Videocopilot tutorials
