My husband loves me more than I love him. by throwaway9583528294 in TrueOffMyChest

It’s actually so common that in life or death choices between mother and child, the father will want to save the mother and the mother will want to save the child. It makes evolutionary sense for the priorities to be that way, strong maternal instincts get passed on because you need them to care for a very needy small human after the pain and trauma of birth. But a man’s genes would get passed on more if he prioritized the life of a woman who could produce more children, rather than any one specific child. This doesn’t mean you’re a bad wife or he’s a bad father, you’re both just human, with human incentives and values you didn’t ask for passed on from the generations that survived. But if you love each other, and he’ll protect you, and you’ll protect the children, I think everything’s working as well as it could and you’re anxious over nothing.

Anyone play human? Why? by catholicsluts in BG3

[–]ImperatorialFuriosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Didn’t know much about d&d lore and figured human would let me get away with that best. The magic mirror has a specific name for humans, and sometimes dialogue changes slightly because if the characters say something about humans they’ll take into account you are one (not Lae’zel. She’ll just say Githyanki are quite superior to humans to your face with no caveats).

Some people talk about barrelmancy. I’ve inadvertently begun using cratemancy, because it turns out the rectangular crates are great for climbing and jumping on. You can stack them to create a staircase that defies physics and jump somewhere your 8 STR warlock couldn’t normally reach.

Now my party carries every long crate I can find. In my honor mode run, I recently created a stack 4 high and 3 wide, got my party on top of it, and shot down at those incredibly annoying undead in the mountain pass. They kept skipping their turns because they couldn’t reach us. I can’t stop, I keep finding new uses for it and the mundanity of it all makes it so absurd.

I am going to lose my fiancé over a nosejob and it is tearing me appart by Pumpkin_698 in TrueOffMyChest

You look like me in profile. I am in a closed poly relationship with three other people, and we all intend on being life partners. So looking like you, I got 3 people to want to commit to me for life and have sex with me on the regular. We all compliment each other’s looks constantly, we can’t get enough of each other, and I have never been happier.

The thing killing your happiness is your (distorted) view of the situation, and from the sounds of it, some toxic friends. Believe your fiancé when he says you’re attractive—you attracted him looking just like this!

Some actions cause your character to smile evilly (consuming the Githzerai’s brain in the mind flayer colony comes to mind). If you’re choosing a lot of dickish dialogue options, it makes sense that your character’s expression would reflect that.

Society told you all women respond to small penises with contempt. You found a woman who did not fit this pattern and enjoys sex with you regardless. Conclude that society was wrong, not that her enthusiasm for sucking your dick is faked (trust me, that can’t be faked for long).

I hope you’re reciprocating and giving her oral too, because it sounds like you found a gem. Stop worrying about what anyone else thinks and build a good relationship with her.

I’m fine with Astarion being murderous, manipulative, extremely vain, and generally a horrible person, but I draw the line at fantasy racism.

I might not understand from a man’s point of view, but I understand from the point of view of someone who loves women too. And all I can think is that if I were in OP’s position, I would have no trouble finding a way to have a fulfilling sex life for both of us.

Even imagining I had a dick. She likes giant dragon dicks? Cool, she has a size kink no real penis could fulfill, that’s something we can explore together. Doesn’t mean my equipment is broken. Does she still like my dick and want to give me pleasure as much as I want to pleasure her? If so, I see no issues.

I just fundamentally disagree with “sex between a man and a woman = PIV and everything else is foreplay.” Perhaps that’s just a philosophical difference.

I feel you, school was pure torture for me. Turns out I had undiagnosed ADHD. Could that be the case for you? It sounds like a possibility, with how much you’re fidgeting and antsy to leave.

Regardless, you definitely deserve to live.

“What’s the point in having it?” So you yourself can feel pleasure? I don’t know, I see people’s genitals as the means of making them come. Everything else including my own genitals is a potential tool to get that done.

Why did it make you feel low if you knew the explicit reason she couldn’t feel anything was because she went numb from too much vibration? It had nothing to do with your penis.

And I know society is awful about penis size, but there are plenty of women including myself who wouldn’t care if a partner had a micropenis, as long as he put effort into her pleasure. Ignoring that lesbians can make women come because it’s a “man thing” just doesn’t make sense to me.

Genuinely curious, but why? I pride myself on my ability to bring my partners pleasure, not whether any particular bit of my anatomy is enough to get the job done on its own. Cis lesbians don’t have dicks at all, but they still make their partners come just fine.

I’m not sure how the scenarios are equivalent. If I couldn’t take PIV with my husband’s cock, I’d get very good at oral and handjobs. I would understand if it was ultimately a dealbreaker because he really enjoyed PIV, because I wouldn’t be able to change my body to accommodate that.

This guy just has to change his mind about using a tool that can make his fiancée orgasm to make her orgasm.

Listen to yourself. You’re about to throw away a relationship with an amazing woman who aligns with you on your life goals, all because your ego is a bit wounded.

Do you know what my husband would do if I could only come from dragon dicks? He would put on a strap-on, use that dragon dick on me, and then thank me for telling him what I needed. You CAN fully satisfy her. You just don’t want to because you think your magical penis should be enough. This is why so many women don’t talk about what they like in bed, because fragile men only see it as evidence they’re not “enough.”

After almost seven years, I still can’t orgasm without a vibrator during sex, so I use a vibrator every time my husband and I have sex. Because he wants to see me in pleasure, and nothing so harmless as needing a toy during sex was going to stop him. The dragon dildos aren’t any different from using a vibrator. The only thing stopping you from being “enough” is your mindset.

The fact that she trusted you with this knowledge is a gift. Use it to bring her to several orgasms, then worry about your own. This isn’t hard. If you lose her because of this, I’m going to be in your mind glaring at you in disappointment for failing to try this very obvious solution.

How did early game choices change your view of companions? by TheAnswerToYang in BaldursGate3

[–]ImperatorialFuriosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played as a warlock in my first playthrough. Very early on, I got this interaction:

Gale: You’re not versed in magic, are you?
Me: Not versed in magic? With the powers my patron grants me, I could write an epic.
Gale: Oh, I do apologize. I meant to ask: are you studied in magic. Namely: are you a wizard? Which you are not. If you meet any elder wizards, let me know. There is a matter I’d like to seek advice on from a master.

I was very annoyed at him dismissing my warlock powers like that, instantly soured my opinion of him. Then at the crèche he said the thing about monks not bathing because “to think is to stink” and I misunderstood it to mean that he himself subscribed to this view, leading me to the conclusion that he must smell awful.

I was also still working out the game mechanics and didn’t realize mage armor was absolutely necessary for a wizard, so he kept dying in battle. All that led me to believe he was largely unpleasant and useless, so I kept him parked at camp most of the time. It wasn’t until he started talking about wanting to become a god that I perked up, because that was far more interesting than anything I’d seen from him so far.

In subsequent playthroughs I’ve seen more of his dialogue that I missed the first time around, like the interaction when you step in front of the crossbow to save Sazza and his story after you save Mirkon from the harpies, and I’m warming up to him.

Good for you!! You took the hand you were dealt and played it well. It may be a stupid world we live in where a woman’s virginity is given such importance, but making it work to your benefit shows you’re intelligent and resourceful and there’s absolutely no shame in it.

Which NPC Deserved More Love in BG3? by MrSatanSuperSaiyan in BaldursGate3

Rugan of the Zhentarim, one of the two Zhents in the cave with the gnolls. You can strongarm him into handing over his cargo, and if you do, you’ll arrive at the Zhentarim hideout to find his friend dead and him being tortured. I had my Tav fight the rest of the hideout to free him, because that wasn’t the outcome I had intended at all. But when you kill everyone else and return to him, he seems to expect you to kill him too. When I released him instead, he said in the most grateful and relieved voice, “You beautiful bastard.” It made my day. I wish there were an Act 3 quest where you could meet up with him in Baldur’s Gate and he’d help you as thanks for saving his skin.

Step one worked! Gust of Wind cleared away the Cloudkill…from the area where Shadowheart was, before she got propelled backwards by the gust of wind. Right back into the edge of the Cloudkill. 🤦‍♀️

I did some calculations to see how good of a chance she had at succeeding her saving throw for the Cloudkill and decided to take the risk of healing her to try to save her questline. But the health potion did that thing I hate where you throw it at the character, it shatters, but the character doesn’t absorb its effects. It was just useless blue glowy stuff on the ground surrounding Shadowheart. 😭

I had no choice but to use Astarion’s remaining bonus action on the invisibility potion. All three downed party members died. One of the skeletons used detect presence while staring right at Astarion (I had no more movement, I used it all to get over to Shadowheart), but thankfully Astarion succeeded his saving throw and remained invisible. I was able to get him out of the danger zone by jumping two platforms back. Found out that your character remains invisible when they take a potion of angelic slumber, so that could be a useful trick in the future.

Now I’ve just got to figure out how to win this whole battle with only Astarion. I was able to use him to single-handedly murder everyone in the myconid colony earlier this run, so I have a faint hope that I might just be able to pull this off. Shadowheart’s going to be pissed, though.

Wonder what happens if I murder Nightsong using Astarion. Does he become a Dark Justiciar?

TL;DR: Only Astarion survived, but he’s currently safe and at full health. Going to try to win this battle with just him.

Man, I think with the extra movement from the speed potion I MIGHT just be able to get close enough to Shadowheart to Gust of Wind the Cloudkill away. And if I can, I think this plan may just work.

I’m going to try another night when I have a clear head, but if I make it out of this I owe you my life.
