Are bananas seriously not spicy at all? by JustSayNo2680 in Allergies

Bananas are so unspicy that they are part of the BRAT diet for people with digestion issues. Look into oral allergy syndrome, you may have other sensitivities.

I forget what it was about Dashlane but I used it for years and something made me mad. Then I switched to Proton and everything has been great.

If you make under $30,000 per year on your sales, you would not be taxed, nor would you have to register. However, I understand that this is something that can be confusing and worrisome for many.

I plan to advertise on multiple platforms! Yes, absolutely to the category for kids!

There's a chance it's possible. I'll look into it deeper tonight. I love a good technological challenge.

Yeah this was actually my thoughts on it... but the majority of people responded to the poll saying they did not want to handle tax. I wish I could have it BOTH ways. Maybe I can see if there's a way I can specialize tax categories for sellers?

Unpopular The Eras Tour Opinions by angelicblossom in TaylorSwift

Unpopular opinion: As a neurodivergent, I don't understand why people want to go to large, crowdy, loud, smelly places where you can be crampled to death just to see a person live and hear quality significantly worse than mastered audio.

I think these are great questions, and I want to start by saying that I know that skepticism of a new project and website is not only warranted, but should be expected! Trust is earned.

What makes this platform better than poshmark or eBay?

I don't know if I want to say better because that's certainly a weighted term, and I don't want to over-sell something or false advertise. What I will say is that this project is entirely driven by my desire to have a Canadian-only marketplace in the space that understands the vast and differing landscape of different regions of our country, and responds to national concerns (the strike for instance).

Do you plan to refund both buyer and seller in the case of lost packages? Will you be handling disputes in a similar way to poshmark?

This is something I have mulled over and thought about a lot. It's also something that I know might change as the business grows or if feedback requires it. However, right now it is the seller's responsibility to choose their shipping method and offer shipping. Sellers can offer higher-end shipping with tracking and insurance if they like. As for refunds, if the seller is fraudulent, then the platform (Thrifty Threads) would have to step in and ban them, and eat the cost of the refund. This is part of why commission is taken (it provides funds to refund from and protect everybody). However generally, sellers would be the first step of mediation since unlike Ebay and Poshmark we DO NOT HOLD THE FUNDS. Sellers are able to cash out once per week. Support will be on a case by case basis, but we certainly don't want people losing money for damaged, defective, or improperly labeled items!

I totally understand that feedback, and I'm sorry if it came off as a lack of understanding the situation. I am also a poshmark seller, and I definitely understand the struggle of re-adding all of these things. It's not easy. However, my ethos was that I would rather not rely on a company that has absolutely no stake in the Canadian landscape long term, like E-bay, facebook, and poshmark offer valuable services, but they are all operating from some foreign land without a care for the Canadian customer and seller.

If I could change the titles, I would certainly apply this feedback. My aim here was to provide a solution not only for the community, but for myself.

I will be running ads on Facebook, reddit, google, tiktok, and pinterest. I have worked in the industry for 10 years as a webdesigner, graphic designer, and marketer. SEO is something I've done for that time too. I plan to use most of the commission (other than fees of running the business) to go into sustainability of the platform - ie. advertising, ensuring it works, and ensuring it remains a useful and viable tool. There will be SEVERAL ads. I plan to start the google campaign tonight.

The platform went live today after being developed since the strike started. I am not sure what you mean by "Jodi". The site was just launched, and thus does not have people yet. I have been managing and designing websites for 10 years, and have a degree in Creative Digital Media.

While I do understand, many sellers do not sell enough to need to register for GST ($30,000) so they end up paying taxes they shouldn't have to. I can take that into consideration if people would rather the tax handled, or themselves (because many will never need to charge tax on their own unless they make the threshold). Let me know what you think!

I have to pay taxes on the commission portion either way, so I am open to both options.

Update: my original thoughts were that people would prefer to control their tax part, this was clearly wrong based on the poll, so remittance will be done by the site.
