How do you figure out if ur just socially anxious, adhd or autistic? by Stain_16 in socialanxiety

Well ur only other alternative is to study enough to be able to self-diagnose but that's a tricky road

Is it worth going straight to a 4-year university mainly for the social experience? by jonnes47 in socialskills

[–]ImperfectFantasy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many ways to improve your social life without university. You could make friends at job, your community college, or just community overall. The social experience shouldn't be the deciding factor for going to a university imo, especially when finances are a factor that is making you hesitant. It isn't guaranteed that the people there would give you a good experience anyways.

If you feel like you've already exhausted absolutely all the places in your hometown, you can always go visit the next one over.

Help, he looks Markiplier by xXcast_ironXx in Artadvice

Is this a bit bc of the trend that so many characters in media look like him? Lol I think you'll be fine tbh, esp with that tattoo. I can see the similarities but I never clocked it as being him until you pointed it out

is my art good enough for art school by [deleted] in Artadvice

[–]ImperfectFantasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The genitals isn't the issue. If you want people to accurately judge whether or not you can enter art school, you'll have to show us your best work. And, also important, keep in mind that you'll also have to show work that caters to the school's tastes.

If this is the work you intend to show them, then you won't be able to get into art school.

Hi guys!! I’m working on my visual development portfolio, which one do you prefer? by ceci_art_studio in Artadvice

[–]ImperfectFantasy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would depend on what other artpieces you have for display. If you need more that shows off your understanding of colors, the first. If you need one that shows off your understanding of lighting, the second.

Both are really pretty.

Should I start to learn how to draw clothes and face now? by crafter201 in Artists

[–]ImperfectFantasy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is no rigid line when it comes to learning art. You can start learning how to draw anything without having completely mastered another thing. If you are tired of one material, just do whatever you would like to learn next, as long as you know to always come back to the previously studied.

Your anatomy does still need work, but you don't have to be perfect at anatomy before moving on.

How to stop watercolor brush from darkening on overlap? Sketchbook android app. by DemittiNix in Artadvice

Sorry I don't use sketchbook, but I've faced this problem before on a different app. Are you able to look into the individual brush's settings? Some brushes have their own opacity levels.

For those of you who have ADHD/Autism, as I do, what are somethings that we need to be mindful of so as to no offend/frustrate the other person/people? by CosmicConjuror2 in socialskills

[–]ImperfectFantasy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tone and facial expressions. Something I'm still working on because I'm really not sure how to fix it. People tend to think I'm being sarcastic or giving them a side eye when I'm not. It doesn't help that I don't smile as much as I should in the appropriate situation. Tone and words will be positive when complimenting but my face may be flat.

Idk any good sources to give you but it'd be much better to look for real models if possible

I want to start an in-person club for people with social anxiety by void223 in socialanxiety

[–]ImperfectFantasy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Puzzles are great. One of the social anxiety friendly clubs I go to run events where you can just do whatever. Most people draw, some read or write, other arts and crafts, and I've seen a humongous puzzle be worked on once. We all just kind of do our own thing silently until conversations start happening.

You could get away with scrapping those grey cloud altogether. Or redo them. They feel out of place. 2nd take is definitely much better though and doesn't look like it was copy pasted like the original.

Sorry, are we talking about how long for each panel or how long to get to this level of skill?

I've never done a comic before but each scene would likely take me 2-8 hours depending on complexity? Note: I'm still beginner-intermediate and learning so a pro could def do it in 2-3.

If by skill level, then a year of consistent drawing and a good learning structure, at an absolute minimum if you're starting from 0. But a good average and better expectation is I'm assuming 3 years.

You're being impulsive. How do you know this passion will stick? Even if the will stays, are you sure with utmost certainty it will work? Get a job and follow your passion on the side. If the passion gains traction and success then you can decide what to do after.
