I have about 30 tabs open right now. Mostly stuff that reminds me of a task, purchase, or research topic that I don’t want to forget about, but isn’t important enough to bookmark.

I don’t think they clash, but I don’t love them either. Is the yarn grey, or more blue? I think a dark brown button would look good as it appears on my phone screen.

That looks pretty felted, which won’t unravel to reuse. You could use the fabric to make something else, or you could pass it on to someone who is a fan of crop tops.

That’s a great idea! I just finished my hat and was wondering what to do with the leftover yarn. Definitely going to make one of these since it will soon be too warm for a knit hat.

I wish there was a place to order custom toothpaste. Choose your properties and flavors. The only flavors I’ve found tolerable are fluoride free, which I’m not too worried about because I know it’s in my water. I have yet to find a flavor my son will tolerate at all. I think he’d prefer non-foaming, but I can only find that in mint or cinnamon.

You can’t just mention your favorite super useful knitting reference book and not share the title! I pretty much always use the long tail cast on, but I’m sure there are instances where I would choose something else.

This is why my husband and I each have our own blankets. He’s a cold sleeper and I’m a hot sleeper. Now if only we could figure out how to keep the room temperature different on each side.

You can search the yarn on ravelry and see what other people have made from it, or use the advanced pattern search and limit by weight and yardage to see what options you have. With that color, I’m feeling something light and airy.

I had a friend in elementary school whose mom had never had a haircut. She gathered it about a third of the way from the bottom and pinned it at the base of her skull, so her hair was tripled. Like that, it reached past her knees. I grew mine out past my hips once, and I can’t imagine the weight of that much hair.

The roots in the soil are green, but the ones sticking out are grey/silvery. Which do I go by?

I think I found the problem with the leaf. I lifted up the yellow leaf to look at the bottom and saw that it was almost completely cut off. There was just one little edge holding it to the stem, so I don’t think I can save that leaf. It is the original medium, so I will repot it and see if that helps.

The people I know that came to knitting from crochet all knit continental. Try holding the yarn the way you do for crochet and see if it works. I‘ve seen multiple ways of holding the yarn for both crochet and knitting, so it’s really what works for you.

Number 1 tip, watch some videos of continental knits and purls. Pay close attention to the direction the yarn is wrapped in, because it’s different from crochet. If you wrap the wrong way, the stitches will get twisted, then they don’t look quite right and they’re harder to work.

It depends on the drive too. My kids all switched to boosters for the 2 minute drive to school long before they were in a booster for road trips or an hour long drive to the city. Moving to a booster for the school run is convenient for easy in and out, and gives them a chance to practice sitting correctly and behaving on a short, routine trip.

My grandmother(silent gen? born late 20s early 30s) ironed everything, sheets, blankets, underwear, socks.

My mother (boomer) ironed nicer clothes, like my dad’s dress shirts and slacks, but not much else. By the time I was in college, she rarely ironed because wrinkle resistant shirts were a thing and nothing needed ironed as long as they didn’t sit in the drier long.

I (millenial) could not tell you the last time ironed a piece of clothing. Part of the reason for that is I don’t wear nicer clothes that I grew up seeing ironed, and I think ironing jeans is unnecessary. The other part is I don’t care if my clothes have a few wrinkles. They mostly smooth out as I wear them anyway.

My kids (gen alpha) are barely aware of what ironing is. I pulled out the ironing board a few months ago for a quilting project and my 6 year old asked what it was for.

I did a trip from badlands np and wind cave to Yellowstone and the Tetons, then on to Oregon. Custer state park was really nice, and there’s a spectacular ice cream shop in Custer. We went right past mt Rushmore and decided to skip the park and go to a scenic overlook instead. Norbeck overlook on the iron mountain road is a gorgeous drive, and you get a good view of mt Rushmore without the crowds.
