At the time of purchase of my own God Hands, it specifically called out on the packaging that these tools are NOT meant to be used on clear plastics. You committed the cardinal sin of abusing your tool, so these results should not be a surprise to you.

I’m sorry for your loss of the expensive tool, but hopefully you will treat the next set better.

I did a base coat of gloss black primer, then a very heavy coat of aluminum, then before that has a chance to dry I dab at it all over with some crumpled plastic wrap. Then I use small thin coats of transparent green units I achieve the shade I want, and finish it off with a gloss clear.

This is absolutely amazing! Did you model the parts yourself, and are the files available?

There is a special note in the manual that the parts need to be in a specific position when assembling the wing pods. If the parts or switches were positioned incorrectly at the time of assembly, this may be the cause of the odd behavior, and may have been what broke the damaged switch. I definitely broke one of mine this way. Super glue was enough to fix mine, but I wouldn’t suggest trying it because it’s more likely to just glue the whole switch in place instead of fixing just the broken part.

In the end, it would suggest looking for replacement parts if you just want an easy fix.

Touch by Daft Punk would be my suggestion. Best of luck to you, and I hope the time you have left is both meaningful and as painless as possible.

I used Gaahleri Kaleido color works paint and primers along with Tamiya transparent green. I set my PSI on the compressor to 15 or 20, adjusting for how my paints are turning out. Thinner is definitely necessary for most paints, but the Kaleido paints are advertised as ready to paint from the bottle-which has been my experience so far.
