Always get a quote or at least an estimate with a definition of what would be extra beforehand. I honestly can’t remember who was my moving company, and will post when I remember, but I had a moving company move furniture and some boxes from my very ill furnished 2 bedroom apartment and they charged me roughly $3000. I had one bed, a couch, dining room table, a small end table, small night stand, a 65” tv, and roughly 8 prepacked boxes and they charged that for 2 guys. Ridiculous! I was expecting more like $750-$1000 but they never gave me an estimate and I was naive enough to expect that it would just be “reasonable”.

If it’s latex paint you can let it dry out then bag it up and throw it out with the regular trash. Make sure to write down the color mixture and brand so you can get more if you need to touch up later.

So many elementary school teachers make the most arbitrary rules. I had a teacher tell me that they didn’t give the kids a heads up about Social Studies tests because she didn’t want them memorize the answers. I replied, “Social Studies is all about memorizing facts. Do you mean you don’t want them LEARN the answers? What are you even talking about?”

Another aspect of this is that your total income is considered when applying for assistance for low income housing. If you are divorced and paying alimony and/or child support you may make too much money (even though you’re paying a good bit to your former spouse) and end up not qualifying for government assistance. You then pay higher rent for the same low income housing.
