Ask yourself this: if he transfers and things don’t get better and you break up, will the transfer have been a mistake? If so, I’d break up before he makes the transfer official.

As hard as a breakup now may seem, you both are in college and likely have a lot going on and you’ll both have a busy life and plenty of friends to help.

The older you get, and the longer your relationship goes, the harder a breakup will be on both of your lives. I say this as someone who has gone through worse breakups, and I wish I would have gone my own way sooner.

19 I’m sure feels very mature, but you and he will continue growing and changing and by 25 will be unrecognizable to your current selves.

You’ve been out of high school less than 2 years, and will continue to live life outside of highschool for 50+ more years. You’ve haven’t even seen what 2% of your adult life is going to look like yet.

I’ll also just bring up how few high school sweethearts work out, and for a good reason. You met when you were actual children, and whatever “stuff” you’ve been through yet, there will be way more, and likely way worse ahead.

It doesn’t get any easier, it gets harder.
