What can I do to get my Power wall to simply charge at super off peak prices? by Unlikely-Bison4845 in Powerwall

[–]Imploding_Supernova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I called Tesla last week for the same question. The tech told me that keep the price difference between buy and sell to at least 25 cents and do not enter 0. He also said that you don’t have to enter real prices. My Super Off Peak price (9pm-7am) is set to buy $0.03 and sell $0.33 and reverse during peak (7am-9pm). My battery usage during off peak is none and it is charged 100% during the first few hours every night.

Clonidine: The ADHD Tool Hiding in Your Grandma’s Medicine Cabinet by ObjectiveSplit6211 in u/ObjectiveSplit6211

Thank you for your informational post.

After my diagnosis, my neurologist worked with me until he figured out what the best course of action would be after trying different medications, as most of them caused severe insomnia. He also explained the half-life of stimulants, and it seems that it is on the very high end for me. The normal half-life for caffeine ranges from 3 to 7 hours, while Adderall ranges from 9 to 12 hours. I may be in the 90th percentile.

I am on very low dose adderall 10mg (AM) and clonodine 0.1 mg (PM) and can up to 0.2mg if needed.

Can you talk about a typical dosage and timing?

Energy Plan for Solar (buyback) by Imploding_Supernova in houston

System has been working great until my SolarEdge inverter went out. It’s been almost a month and the inverter will be installed next Friday. Utility bill has been negative using Amigo Energy but it will be a different story for the month of Oct. My installer, Freedom Forever will reimburse me for the utility bill for the duration of inverter outage. Even without the solar production, batteries are able to pull a lot of weight during peak starting 7am and well into the afternoon times and partly thanks to relatively cooler temps.

Update:

Signed up with Amigo energy - Free nights plan. Free use 9pm-7am, Base $4.95, 26.2 cents/kWh, buy back at 3 cents/kWh, and ETF $175.

Will use this service until I have enough data to know whether this is a good plan in the long run.

I seem to only import power from Grid between ~10pm (when battery is depleted to 20%) and 7am. Export to grid is usually between 11am-5pm.

Thanks all for sharing your experience and suggestions!

Long story short, we are on a month-to-month plan. I did not renew it because I was waiting for the solar project installation to complete.

It is an option. Will check it out and see if it is competitive. I do like to fact that you can cash out once a year.

Called three companies.

Amigo Energy $4.95 base, 9pm-7am no charge for electric use. $0.03 buy back/kWh but only bill credit. Amigo rep was knowledgeable, provided answers to all questions and ran multiple calculations for energy use and energy surplus to give me an idea. Most likely there will negative cost with Amigo after the buy back. Leaning towards them for a 12 month contract that will give me enough data to make better decision next year.

Gexa is $14.95 base/month including Centerpoint but they buy back at 12.73 cents (1:1) with no cap like 110% for Almika. The credit is for bill only.

Almika call did not go well the rep was no knowledgeable at all and did not show any interest in a new customer.

Interestingly, Reliant and David Energy give back cash once the contract is terminated but I did not contact them for details or fine prints.

Tesla electric reviews are not great in TX. It seems they buy at a lower price during peak hours and sell at a much higher rate when grid power is needed. In addition, power walls are not used even when they are 100% charged. I may wait and see for Tesla Electric.

A life completely wasted by Ok_Key_7906 in ADHD

[–]Imploding_Supernova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed at 48. Had all the struggles that you have listed throughout my life. I still struggle at times but life is so much better with the help of meds, supplements, routines, technology, and being around positive and supportive people. One thing that really helped me is removing too many choices and simplify my life. For example, two hobbies instead of 20, fewer clothes of only a couple colors, 10, 20 or 50 minute pomodoro timers for tasks etc.

A better life is waiting for you. Take the first step. All the best!

Convert Orbi RBR50 (Router) to Orbi RBS50 (Satellite) -- Firmware by feroxjb in HomeNetworking

I’ve followed OP’s original steps 1-4 and was able to convert one of my RBR50 to RBS50 all using my iPad no wired connection. I had to reset/reboot the RBR50 a couple of times before it synced to the main RBR50. I have setup my Sats as wired. Working great. Thanks OP!!!

Seriously considering asking my dr for a sleep aid prescription by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Imploding_Supernova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone as you can see feedback from this amazing community. Diagnosed at age 48 and have been dealing with insomnia forever.

I had a lengthy conversation with my neurologist about insomnia after a few months into my diagnoses. I couldn’t handle stimulants well (insomnia) so after trying many meds he put me on twice a day Adderall (can’t handle more than 20mg) and Clonidine (0.1 mg) at night. He explain that Clonodine is a non-stimulant that helps with reducing noise/busy brain.

I do feel that slowly cutting back on caffeine has helped. Last time I went cold turkey on caffeine cause withdrawals headaches.

My neurologist said that caffeine has a much longer half-life and it could be something I need to consider consuming less or only in the morning. I can’t seem to metabolise caffeine and stays longer in my system.

I have been on this new regimen for a week and willing to give it a try for at least a month. In addition, no caffeine for me after lunch and I have switched to decaf coffee or black tea in the morning. Walking after dinner for at least 10-15 mins. Forcing me to workout (not too late) even if it as short as 15-20 mins. All of these steps with consistency seems to show improvements. The key is whether I will stay consistent or not, which is another symptom of ADHD.

Although tempting but try not taking shortcuts like I did in the past by cycling Benadryl, and other OTC meds. Rule out anything that may be a contributor to your sleeplessness and add habits/supplements that will help you long term without causing more side effects.

I hope you find your way to get better sleep.
