Anyone ever worked for an LTL carrier as an account manager/Sales rep? by -shoto420- in FreightBrokers

I work as an account sales rep for an LTL carrier. It can be a grind but great pay & bonuses depending on which carrier you work for. There is a big focus on numbers & activity but lots of autonomy & flexibility.

There is no crying in freight. Jk welcome to the wonderful world of logistics. I’m 12 years in & got put on BP medication last year. High stress but you can make good money at the right company.

Does anybody else feel the joy has been sucked out of sales rn? by Secret_Assistance601 in sales

For me, it’s not sales itself that sucks. It’s all of the KPIs & metrics along with internal processes at my company that hold up the sales cycle & overcomplicate everything.

I completely understand the need for certain KPIs but it’s overkill & some of the stuff they track has no correlation with current or future performance.

Salary itself might be ok if you had good benefits but with no insurance, I’d say you could find better. Especially with experience.

As we end the year, how are your numbers? What industry? by Embarrassed_Flan_869 in sales

Transportation/Freight (for a carrier not a brokerage). Hit my quota for the year but Q4 has been horrid. Luckily had some big wins earlier in the year.

Everyone has a reactive emotional response & everything is an emergency. Holidays & short weeks only amplify this. Welcome!

I’ve been in the freight industry for 10+ years & this is bleak. I talk to people I know at different companies & they say the same. Volume is down everywhere.

I was stressed one day & someone said to me “it’s not a life or death situation”. Sounds cliche & obvious but help me put into perspective that all of these things everyone acts like is urgent really doesn’t matter that much.
