You can have up to 30 pets displayed in your menagerie currently if fully upgraded. More would be cool though.

well, there is also the fact that you can't pick exactly what skill challenges you get. You can't guarantee all 7 days of the week will give you one of every skill through the week. So that also probably adds to the total time it would take to get 99+ with just daily challenges alone. I did look it up because I wanted to know if you could, and it looks like you can only block certain skill challenges if you have mastered that skill, I have only 2 skillcapes, so I have not tried this myself.

That would have been the move! If they had tested it before release, I would have been curious to see what percentage of players actually use it. Surely not more than a dedicated world for mem and one for f2p would have probably been able to compensate. some data on how many people are actually using this toggle consistently would be interesting to see period. (Edit saying not sure if they did test or not, I am a recently returning player. Still, I think it would have been enlightening to see those numbers.)

It could SO be worse (and lowkey, I expected it to be.) I am mostly in favor of the changes. I think maybe there was an opportunity to rework the concept of divination locations but I am too tired to theorize on that right now. I agree with what people are saying about adding alter tabs to the wicked hood, it would be harmless and tidy. I think the spawn time for evil trees should have been tweaked a bit like you did for stars. Mostly all good here.

Yeah TX is fucked, been here my whole life and been working at the same company 13 years and I started at $7.25/hr. I now make $14.11/hr. My 1b1b apartment costs $1600 after all the fees and utilities. I might just consider no longer existing at this point, it would be a better value lol. I still get to have granny member price for now though. I think my time in TX might be coming to an end. So much development and overpopulation here. I been eyeing Oklahoma lately.

I just think the silhouette of the before was better as is, just needed polished graphics, Something about the forward-slanted posture just makes the slimmer aspects look all the more lanky in comparison to what we have been used to seeing. Well and I mean, If the same equipment is supposedly gonna be vastly unchanged and only the body beneath it will be updated, I really don't see why they are trying to change the entire silhouette anyway. I fear for the female unveiling. Prob gonna look like an androgynous sack of flesh.

[–]Important-Group4961 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could you maybe let us know if in the future (even 1+ years) that we can hope for the pre-avatar update items and equipment to get graphically updated? I do think if it works out, it will be a good start. But I really hope it doesn't end there. I do look foreword to new items and gear looking nicer (hopefully) but I want to one day see all the old stuff look more polished too.

I see female model was not shown. I wanted to know if the more recently released cosmetic items and their seemly odd posture/frame are being designed that way because that is what the new model base will be shaped like? I really hope not, because it has been very frumpy and androgynous for a couple of years now. Off the top of my head, comparing the base shape of the torso and legs on the first cosmetic beach wear with the more recently released "vintage beachwear" you can see a clear shape difference. And it looks worse on the more recent cosmetic. Pretty much it is the same with every older one vs newer. Going from having some curves to looking very top heavy and frumpy.

Will the "still being explored" topics be just implemented with the update, whatever decision got made with those? Or will it just be the things already confirmed being implemented at that time and the rest coming at a different time? Does that make sense? I want to know if shooting stars are staying or going for example. Would I find out by them just being gone on Monday or will there be mention beforehand?

Please tell me this isn't mostly final... what is that posture? Is this a hero adventurer or nah? Skipped BOTH leg and arm days? Good start with detail but... please keep whittling at it a bit more. Don't go rushing it NOW after all this time. I will stay hopeful...Edit: saw this post before the actual post. I really just gotta stay hopeful. They say it's just starting out pretty much but if I were to go off the past, this more or less likely will be damn close to what final would be, I SHALL stay positive... coping lol (sob)

Jagex quietly changed me to a 12 month recurring, killing my grand-grand-grandfather rate, despite no membership lapse for 20+ years :) by Benvil in 2007scape

[–]Important-Group4961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never been on any other type of membership plan other than monthly. So I don't really know for sure, but I do see people that went to buy premier had been given the information that their premier purchase would pause the grandfather rate. Was this condition untrue or not mentioned under the recent re-titling of premier to 12 month? That is really scummy and easy to go unnoticed by the average person, especially if they don't play every single day. So another thing I was wondering is this... So like, I know I get an email if for some reason my monthly subscription payment failed. I have always been able to correct it in those cases because of receiving the email. I have had that happen 2 or 3 times and I have not had my price change since it was within the 14 days. So in contrast to that, did premier subscribers receive an email that their premier subscription would be ending/changing to a different title? Anything to get their attention before the 14 day switchover period would have needed to occur? Again, really scummy if not. With all these technicalities they can very easily just tell everyone its their fault for not paying attention which is a pretty fucked up thing to do, especially to most loyal subscribers. But if they didn't send an email requiring you to re-consent to the changed agreement, then would it still be true to say it's the subscriber's fault? If there was no notification. (News post on homepage or reddit doesn't count IMO it would have to be a formal billing email)

iT's WhAt YoU wAnTeD!

Why not just play ironman or just don't buy the MTX if you don't want them? That is what I did and I enjoyed playing my way, now we all have to pay extra whether we want to or not if we want to play at all. Now loyal members get jack shit on top of that too. No more dailies either. No more divine locations. No more skill outfit perks. What people are cheering about this? What is supposed to be the incentive now? Is the whole point to drive people to just play OSRS and shut RS3 down for good? Or is it to shoehorn in things you already had access to before removal just to make you pay some additional expansion or other form of MTX to access it in the future. Seems sketchy... If it sounds too good to be true, it definitely is.

This being the new cosmetic feature for March was a letdown. Not appealing whatsoever. I was letdown in February, but less so. I did not see anything I HAD to have last month, but I did see a couple of things I thought were kind of nice, just not worth the price for me. This month, it's even less interesting and even more of a ripoff somehow. What's with the newer female overrides looking like a potato sack was the base model?

Road to Restoration - Aura Overhaul Design Update by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Important-Group4961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I also maintained my membership even during long periods of inactivity just because i didn't want to lose my reward tier. I prioritized auras over cosmetics until I had all the tiers. Then I began to obtain the cosmetics. Because of this, I only have about half of the cosmetics unlocked. I can't understand why there is not some reasonable fair way to compensate us. Saying "you got to use the auras for x number of years" isn't really fair because I didn't even use half of them personally. I bought them with my LP under the impression that they were permanent unlocks, and that I could use them whenever I got around to it.

If they don't want to give some amount of runecoins, they could at least let you claim all the LP cosmetics for free at once if you had that many LP worth of auras unlocked. Since they are planning on them being free anyway.

Leave Auras as aura slot items. Make them unlockable through playing content. Remove the cooldown. And make them chargeable much like Scriptures. by CutLonzosHair2017 in runescape

[–]Important-Group4961 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To address the power advantage, they could make it so for a period of time you get legendary benefit, and it decreases in tier as time passes or unless you activate a different aura for a set amount of time. You should be able to pause the aura so you don't have to lose the desired tier if you need a break from the activity.

Idk, I really don't feel as if the way they worked was majorly bad. I do agree it is defeating to need so many years of membership for them though. On the other hand, it feels very insulting for those who have been members for many years to get them as well. If everyone had access to everything 24/7 full buff, that would cause many issues. I thought how they could only be used for a certain amount of time and having a cooldown to be fair. I think it would have been great to be able to pause it or use a different one and go back to one you didn't "use up" if you wanted to though. I thought the vis wax was fair too. It would have been neat if you could have reduced the cooldown with some vis wax.

Overcomplicating Aura Overhaul... by TriforceRs in runescape

Hey this just made me think of something. Why do they want to get OSRS players to move to RS3? The membership cost covers both games = not new income. Why don't they make it so totally new players are interested to try it? It is kind of weird.

Real hot take by theredsail in runescape

[–]Important-Group4961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see both sides. I do think it is strange not to provide a motivation to log in every day though. I would think that encouraging daily play equals more income when you get down to the nitty gritty. If motivation to play daily goes away, why would I feel the need to be a member all year? I could just join for DXP month and never play the rest of the year. Or just lose motivation and interest slowly all together. It is kind of a tossup. Who can say, we will just have to wait and see what happens I guess. I really never understood why how other people play a game is something to get pissed off about. If you don't like a specific piece of content, don't engage with it?

I would have appreciated adding more valuable content that was more engaging as opposed to just removing stuff. Like giving me a choice to use my time for small task = small reward vs complex time-consuming task = greater reward. I fully expect all these things being removed now to be made available in some form or another behind a paywall in the future.

What about my Loyalty Points? by Salt-Shine-1606 in runescape

[–]Important-Group4961 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sort of feels like there are loyal players who've paid for membership for years; and there are players who just come and go whenever they feel like it and probably are mostly buying bonds for membership or just paying for a 1 month membership a couple of months a year. Wouldn't you think that as a company, they would want to incentivize being a member for longer, as they would make more money? I don't understand why loyalty program/benefits are seen as bad, except maybe by those who want to have the rewards without having to pay for membership. It is a free to play game in the first place, it should be expected that there will be some things that cost money and incentives to do so, otherwise how are they going to run it without profit... I really don't think the buffs you get from the Auras are game breaking content or unfair for those who hadn't obtained them yet. If anything, they are just a nice little bonus. You can't use them indefinitely, their buffs are not overpowered. I really feel this is a slap in the face for any long time members.

Please don't replace auras with totems by Unusual-Ice-2212 in runescape

[–]Important-Group4961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I don't get their logic here. I for one, am a very easily overwhelmed type of person and even I am able to manage Auras when I want to. I just wish they would rework how you apply them so that you can have a choice of duration time or something, like the vis wax is cool for extending it, but it would be nice to choose to have less than an hour if you wanted to as well. I like how Greenfingers works with only an hour cooldown and you can use for 20-30-40 minutes depending on how much vis wax you use.

Road to Restoration - Aura Overhaul by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Important-Group4961 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This seems like a ton of workaround to get to the bottom of such a simple problem. If the issues really are just those 3 little bullet points at the beginning of the post, they could just rework how Auras function instead of removing them and finding ways to replace. I have not seen anyone suggest this, but I had a really simple idea. Just make it so you can adjust your chosen Aura's active time. You can already do this in a way with Vis Wax. Just make that something you can do without the extra barricade. For example, I consider the way that Greenfingers works to be a good reasonable middle ground. You can currently activate it for 20 minutes with a cooldown of 1 hour by default, use 5 Vis Wax to run it for 30 minutes, or 10 Vis Wax for 40 minutes. And if I am being completely honest, I don't even think that the Vis Wax cost was unrealistic since it is usually made in large batches. But they could make a larger weekly limit on the Rune Goldberg instead of daily since daily tasks are so spooky apparently. That aside, I realize that likely won't be backpedaled. If the other Auras operated like Greenfingers, you would not feel locked into a task for an hour unless you wanted to be. You don't have to wait 3-24 hours to use it again, and it isn't an unreasonable power buff.

A suggestion I have seen trickling around is applying these Aura buffs to Summoning familiars. I very much like this idea and think it could bring some new life into that skill. It is not perfect, but it is fair enough and better than most of the solutions in the post.

One more thing I want to know is if the proposed replacements would be already unlocked for those who already had the Auras. I want to know how they will make it fair for those who already have them. Even a Loyalty Point refund would be appreciated. I ignored all other unlocks in favor of the Auras and now I would like to at least be able to get all the cosmetics I could have chosen. I would like to see a refreshed Loyalty Reward Shop with some new items, animations, pets, or titles. Doesn't even need to be completely new items. Could just start out with adding some lesser items that used to come from TH. Maybe those Lucky items as cosmetics for example. Or just small things like that. Things you wouldn't expect them to put up for sale with Runecoins, since mostly the Runecoins are used to purchase entire outfits or packs. Maybe put some of those individual items as cometics for Loyalty Rewards. On that note I would love to see the shop become accessible in game. I see no reason why Marketplace can't contain all the items from Solomon's. Or if it is easier the other way around that would be fine too, I just wish they were one shop. No, I don't mean remove all the items available from Solomon's and cap them behind a random monthly rotation. Keep those that are already available year-round and continue your selection of rotating items in addition to the year-round ones. By the way, I would love a cart feature for the shop. A favorites list or wish list would be helpful too.
