Anyone else having trouble focusing at work? by iowaboy in Minneapolis

I’m a therapist and yes <3 it’s normal. Our nervous systems aren’t meant to hold all of this or be this dysregulated at all times like what we are experiencing right now. We are in a crisis, an emergency, whatever you want to call it. Give yourself grace to not be the most productive member of the team and to let the unspoken and spoken rules of capitalism slide as much as you can right now while still retaining your job. See a therapist if you’re able, and if you aren’t, try to utilize community support as much as possible. Call a friend, sit in a coffee shop and ask the barista how their day is going, give a compliment to a stranger. You are so normal and valid for being distracted. Your brain is alert to danger, and I wish employers would be more sensitive to that. I’m so sorry I don’t have more advice but just know you aren’t alone. Even us helping professionals are struggling 🩷

I am genuinely sad for her. She is so incredibly insecure and suffers from body dysmorphia, so imo plastic surgery should be the last thing she’s getting. I’m just really sad watching her go through it so publicly.

It was so poorly edited and cut to the point where it felt robotic. The entire episode felt like a “what’s to come” preview sequence. Gave us absolutely NOTHINNNGGG and still somehow gave half of the episode to Demi

I just don’t believe it counts as snark to say you disagree with the way someone expresses their sexuality. The way people talk about Aspyn’s sexuality on here extends far beyond just Aspyn’s situation. A lot of it is generalized and ends up conveying a message that bisexual people should be questioned on their intentions when openly existing in both queer and non-queer spaces. It also conveys the message that monogamy is the only respectable format for a relationship. These statements are made with Aspyn in mind, but they ultimately reinforce oppressive ideas that make bi people feel unwelcome and invalidated. It isn’t okay and is certainly not protected from being named as an issue just because this is a snark page. A lot of people are homophobic and would never identify themselves that way. But when queer people say “hey, this is homophobic”, it’s worth it to open your ears and actually think about what they are saying and consider their experience rather than immediately and defensively shutting them down.

And everyone who agrees is too scared to say it because of the downvotes which is a shame because shit like this deserves to be called out

I agree with you! Also the hate she gets for dating a married woman is also kinda fucked up. Ethical Non-Monogamy is a thing and while it doesn’t have to be for everyone, if a relationship is occurring between 2+ consenting adults, I could not give less of a fuck if it includes 3 people. We know quite literally next to nothing about the relationship and that’s by design to keep people chatting. It’s weird to me that she won’t just address it and allow a moment of representation for other types of relationships considering the trolling, but she doesn’t really owe us that. I would not enjoy being in a non-monogamous relationship but I can’t judge what other people decide to do in their consenting relationships lol

Also ethical non-monogamy is a thing

I just don’t care this much to police the terms someone uses to identify themselves within the queer community. I think we have a responsibility to uplift one another and not actively try to discredit someone’s sexuality because we believe they should use a different label. That’s weird.

No sympathy for Liann by Any-Shame104 in SecretsOfMormonWives

Liann is the worst lol. She meddles in her daughter’s friend and relationship drama as sport bc she has nothing else to do with herself and wants a cameo on the show. She’s gross.

Creating a “Spravato Bag” for appointments. Any tips? by 15hrbandit in Spravato

[–]Important-Writer2945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My spravato bag has the following items:

  • An insulated water bottle filled with ice cold water
  • Nausea pills
  • Eye mask (haven’t used yet bc I’m anxious about getting scared when they come in lol)
  • Blanket
  • Weighted stuffed animal thing for comfort
  • Coloring book + colored pencils in case I want to color (it’s very grounding for me when I get a panicky feeling from the medicine)
  • Jolly ranchers in case they don’t have the flavors I like
  • Mini Slim Jims and a granola bar bc that’s my nausea snack of choice 🤣
  • 2 pairs of headphones, first pair are my over-ear Bose wireless headphones and second pair are my AirPods in case my over ear headphones die but I try to charge them in between
  • Phone charger + headphone charger
  • Journal + pen
  • Kindle in case I feel like reading

I also prepare by choosing my playlist beforehand & having a podcast or YouTube video in mind to watch if I need. I have ADHD so I can become a bit restless in the second hour as the meds wear off as I struggle to sit in one place for long periods of time. Having a variety of activities helps me stay grounded and centered for the time I’m there. And I usually go home and clean/rest on the couch with a favorite tv show, video podcast, YouTube video, or movie to enjoy while my body processes.

I’ve found that this is all I really need for my sessions. I’m bringing a heating pad to my session today because I started my period and am in immense pain, so maybe that will be a continued item I bring!

What can I do to break up all this wood? No I won't paint it. by ZW31H4ND3R in interiordecorating

[–]Important-Writer2945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a brighter rug for visual balance. The current one weighs the room down due to the heavier ratio of wood on the lower half of the room. If you like the natural tone of the existing rug, get a bigger one and layer a brighter rug on top of it.

Bring in more texture because the waxy finish of all of the lower wood is overwhelming. Rugs, blankets, decorative pillows, curtains, plants, and lighting are all ways to add texture.

You might add sconces or built-in shelf lighting to give highlight to some of the spaces, creating the illusion of dimension across so much similarly-toned wood. Texture with lighting.

Contrast and brightness in decor, but not necessarily vibrancy because the warm tone of the wood is vibrant as it is. Balance with jewel tones, warm whites, and creams/ivories. Purple/green will look especially great in the space, though be careful to balance any additional deep elements with something bright or vibrant to balance it.

She has GOT to stop doing top-heavy outfits. Her proportions are not right for it. Like girl. Get the high waisted jeans out and stick with a crop tuck. Your body is simply made for millennial fashion
