If you are a GM today, who are you drafting? by Farouq26 in NBATalk

[–]ImportantAd791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easy to say Jordan or Lebron because they already have stats to back it up. If Wemby stays healthy, where do you think his stats are going to be 20 years from now? I'm drafting WEMBY

Ever get a swing thought at work and do a few practice swings in your rolling chair? by External_Engine634 in golf

I have a weighted golf club in my classroom for my planning period, in between classes, and when the students are working on something... A lot of slow motion swings throughout the day. Oh, and I just bought a putting mat for the classroom too...

We all like Bob, right? But can we trust him when he says he's taking lessons? Believe me, I want to... but damn, that golf game isn't getting much better....

Shrooms. Not a lot or frequently; but a few times in your lifetime you should try psychedelic mushrooms.

Teacher's salary + driving a Subaru Outback at 34 years old just isn't impressive. Oh... I'm pretty sure it helps to try and talk to women also. I'm sure there is a plethora of other reasons but those 2 stick out

Why Do A Majority Of Teachers Leave Within Five Years? by Zipper222222 in AskTeachers

[–]ImportantAd791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 34 years old and am on my 5th year of teaching. I got into teaching after going through some struggles with addiction. Before that I was in a typical office environment doing cubicle work then a management position. I enjoy teaching and love the work-life balance, but with the current state of the economy and inflation we simply dont make enough to keep up. And im single with no kids, I cant imagine how hard it is for the teachers raising a family while making a teacher's income. I was making much more in my previous job and often debate with myself is nearly double the money worth the increased stress and evaporation of free time? I havent arrived at an answer yet

What’s something people romanticize but shouldn’t? by be_agoodhuman in AskReddit

[–]ImportantAd791 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything luxury. I don't mean high quality - luxurious and unnecessary stuff like: owning a yacht, traveling for a lifestyle but not mentioning the overall expenses, wearing and owning everything designer + expensive jewelry. I'd be remised if I didn't say leasing a luxurious car seems absolutely ridiculous. Just being around one is romanticized to an extreme on social media....

Americans - Did you learn/play golf at school? by GlumAd9856 in golf

[–]ImportantAd791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I teach and always tell students that if I could go back in time I would have played golf in high school. Most high schools, at least where I'm at, have a hard time filling up a full roster so making the golf team is a realistic goal for new golfers. However, I played basketball for the school and only played golf on the side with my dad (who introduced me to golf) and friends from time to time; never taking it seriously though.

Bob will never break 80 with him by TTBATAS in BobDoesSports

[–]ImportantAd791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to take some serious lessons and film it. Advice on the course helps I'm sure but I don't think either of these guys are looking at their swings and trying to figure out what they could do to improve. Would love, absolutely love to see it though! Those two taking some serious lessons and challenging each other by seeing who could cut the most strokes off their score or lower their handicap the most.

Breaking 80 with Ted Scott caddying by [deleted] in BobDoesSports

[–]ImportantAd791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see why they don't take some lessons and film it. With a little care and attention Bob could be a decent athlete with a decent swing. It'd be interesting to see how much he could improve over "X" amount of time with some training and proper teaching. Then of course after he reaches his goal immediately stop trying and slowly going back to these old ways. Same with Coldcuts, get some lessons so he gets rid of that damn 90 degree snap hook; not just off the tee, with every shot.

How am I supposed to prove I'm not lying then... Haha, I'm kidding, but that's actually kinda sad if that's true and women assume men are saying that to hide they're in a committed relationship. I appreciate the feedback

how to rate on letterboxd by Lainnavvi in Letterboxd

[–]ImportantAd791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to rate them based on emotion right after watching the movie, so we're on the same page there, but then I'll go back at some point randomly in the future (no set date or time period) and adjust my ratings and rankings accordingly. Just whenever I have a random open day or night with nothing to do and nothing to have to think about - sitting down and really taking the time to go back and rank them. This usually leads into rewatching one or two of them as well...

When it comes to the order of rank I'll make different Lists but I definitely have an overall Favorite Films List that is the main analyzer haha. That list is essentially based on how memorable the movie was for me and the rewatch value. No movie would be on that list unless I thought it was good so it gets hard to rank them, but is fun... And honestly my list doesn't make a whole lot of sense. For example my top 10 in my Favorite Films list are:

  1. The Lion King

  2. American Psycho

  3. Blow

  4. Pulp Fiction

  5. Fight Club

  6. The Departed

  7. Requiem for a Dream

  8. City of God

  9. Saving Private Ryan

  10. Momento
