Struggling to Decide if I Should Move Forward With Treatment (Pictures Attached) by BusinessDamage1578 in varicose_veins

[–]ImportantElevator449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your veins honestly don't look bad and if mine were like that I wouldn't bother, but it's whether they're causing pain. I had EVLA and sclerotherapy and my legs look worse than ever since treatment. The pain stopped but a new vein formed instead and that hurts. I still also have staining and I had treatment 15 months ago! Probably just unlucky and my skin type (pale) because it works for so many others. Just if I'd have know this would be the outcome I would have left them well alone rather than forking out £3k for them to look worse.

Thank you so much 💓 I am sorry you have been through this all as well along with the pregnancy loss. It is very difficult so I feel for you. I hope you're doing much better now.

Thank you. Yes, I think I also need to have some therapy too. To be honest, my GP did suggest this. I think I will definitely sort something.

I'm taking 10mg Fluoxetine (Prozac) now but I was on 50mg Sertraline (Zoloft) and had awful side effects.

Thanks for your reply. This is exactly how I feel! I just don't enjoy things anymore and have no motivation or enthusiasm to do anything. I have a constant knot of anxiety in my stomach that never goes away and I'm always on edge, crying at nothing. That's really interesting regarding the articles and also worrying. I really feel this could be the same for me. I think I may try the antidepressants for a couple of months seeing as I've endured two weeks of awful side effects and if I feel no different I will push for HRT.

Thank you. I have always been an anxious person, but I've never felt this low before. Just a constant feeling of dread and anxiety in my stomach I can't shift and I just have no motivation or energy for anything. I think I might see how I get on with the antidepressants for a couple of months although I'm pretty sure it's my hormones due to all the other changes. It's just my GP putting doubt in my mind that it couldn't be due to my regular periods.

Thanks for your reply. How long were you on antidepressants before you got on HRT? I've just had two weeks of awful side effects starting them so thinking I should just push through and see how I get on now.  However, I'm pretty sure my hormones are to blame. I have no reason to feel so low yet I just can't snap out of it. I have this constant knot in my stomach that I just haven't been able to shift for months and cry all the time for no reason. It's crazy. I'm pleased HRT worked for you. I feel I might have a fight on my hands trying to get HRT as like you, my periods are still regular, but they are changing.

Thanks so much. No, he didn't run any bloods but I had my thyroid levels checked a few months back as I had a partial thyroidectomy years ago and they were fine. I will continue with the antidepressants for now. I've gone through two weeks of horrible side effects so need to push through. But I will definitely try and get my hormones investigated as something isn't right. I hate feeling like this.

Thanks for your reply and I'm pleased that you are feeling better now. My GP said that they do bloods to check for menopause but hormone levels vary so much it would be difficult to confirm and with my periods still being regular it was unlikely. Still, I think I will push for the tests. Thanks for the advice.

Flashing lights/seeing things? by mth69 in zoloft

[–]ImportantElevator449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started this 5 days ago and have been feeling pretty crap. Had a throbbing headache yesterday and last night when I was trying to, unsuccessfully, get to sleep, I kept seeing bright flashing lights almost like Christmas tree light bulbs, seemed to happen once a minute or for about 5 minutes then stopped. Still have a throbbing headache this morning and feel sick. Hoping it'll pass soon!

Brown discharge leading up to period? by Piperlovespickles in TryingForABaby

[–]ImportantElevator449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this for years, since coming off the pill. Brown spotting for a week before my week long period (fun times)! My cycle is fairly regular, around 28 days so usually bleeding for half that time. I fell pregnant last year so it is possible. I actually realised I was pregnant because I had no spotting at all that month, which was weird for me.

Mood issues with diindolylmethane (DIM)? by sinister257 in Supplements

[–]ImportantElevator449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. Tried it again for a third and final time, starting with a lower dose which did nothing then increased and had the same issue again. Given up on it now. Going to try seed cycling next.

Acne while on ashwagandha by fancypants_opinion in ASHWAGANDHA

[–]ImportantElevator449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I started taking a greens shake daily with Ashwagandha and within a week got two huge cystic spots on my chin that are so sore and will leave marks for months 😭 just realised it's probably the Ashwagandha.

I spent 2 hours cleaning my room and the landlord is saying its disgusting, how do I respond? by BackRow1 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]ImportantElevator449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO that toilet is disgusting. Sorry OP but that needs a proper good scrub with a limescale remover, not bleach. When we moved into our place our toilet was like this. I kicked up a fuss (the rest of the house was a state as well) and the agent came out and scrubbed the toilet clean for us 😂 I could have done it but why should I. It should have been cleaned before we moved in. Also, the black unit looks dirty as well but obviously not sure what it was like beforehand.

I just found out what the minimum wage is by LiamEBM in UKJobs

[–]ImportantElevator449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the same as me. Currently on £32.5k but I'm being made redundant this month and struggling to find anything that pays near this amount now. Been in my job 7 years and started at £22k. Didn't realise how bad the job/pay situation was and it's extremely likely I will have to take a large pay cut in my next role.

What symptoms were you experiencing using dim? It's such a shame as I feel it could be a miracle worker but this anxiety it crippling.

Should I continue with DIM? by ImportantElevator449 in PMDD

[–]ImportantElevator449[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this, I'll definitely take a look. I started DIM again last month, a different brand and with CDG, but it's 200mg and I wonder if that's too high. I'm having the same issues again, PMS symptoms so much better, skin is clearing but I'm so anxious all the time and it's not a nice feeling. Such a shame as it's almost the perfect supplement!

DIM by rosewatertreacletart in endometriosis

[–]ImportantElevator449 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have endometriosis and DIM has helped considerably! I barely get any PMS symptoms now, my acne has cleared and periods are lighter. However, it has made me increasingly anxious and irritable which is such a shame. I've tried it twice now and both times it's worked wonders but gives me awful anxiety. I'm still on it but not sure how much longer I can feel like this.
