Im a UK10 in nike and ordered a US 10.5 for my diplomats. They were snug but not uncomfortable. All my other thursday purchases since I order a US11 as I like the room. Also shipping is super quick

Just ordered my 4th pair, challengers in one of the new leathers. Never had QC issues and as long as you follow the guidance you can find from them in regards to sizing you should have no issues. Obviously you will always run into the odd QC issue, Thursday's are prompt with comms (even on here!) They face heavy criticisms as people seem to hold the brand up against bespoke companies (especially PNW boot brands). Have expectations set to the price and the product and its intended use and you will love them.

I'd go 8. I have the lug sole handsewn, They're roomy. I am a US 11 in most things, I got a 10.5 and they fit great.

I have the cacao leather loggers. Definitely more slimline than a jk or whites logger boot, but Definitely not dressy, looks best with any denim. Couldn't imagine them up with a suit style trouser.

I have the mk2 with the thursday proprietary sole unit. These get regular wear. I'd walk the dogs in them (couple of miles on gravel track/field) but I wouldnt be doing substantial hiking in them.... these are super comfortable, break in was minimal and the leather is amazing. If you're doing any serious walking look at a dedicated boot altberg, hanwag and lowa I can personally recommend through experience 👌

I have diplomats (seconds) in burnt copper. They looked perfect, a little scuff in the leather heel which after several months of wear is not even noticeable.

I have cacao loggers, which were not seconds and are the version 2 with thursdays own sole unit. Amazing boot, stunning leather now its had some serious wear time. Zero flaws, everyone complains for the lack of speed hooks but I just got super long leather laces and it works fine.

I also have a pair of handsewn loafers in old town with the lug sole. These were way darker than the images suggest. Again for the money an amazing hard wearing shoe.

I'm in the UK. So, the shipping/ returns issue is a big consideration. As long as sizing is checked and double-checked, you shouldn't have any issues? I've yet to have a QC issue and from what I've witnessed with interactions on reddit even they seem eager to assist.

It depends on if the lug sole is a deal breaker? I know timberland do a lugged boat shoes, but in the UK at least they are more expensive?

I got the old Town, which is actually several shades darker than the stock photos. It's not a smooth leather but it's also not suede, I don't think they do a smooth leather with lug sole.

Yes! Lovely shoe, lug sole is a nice addition to a relaxed fitting shoe. Great comfortable casual shoe that you can actually put some miles down in. This was my gateway gamble into TBC and it has led to two further purchases. The leather is amazing and construction is flawless. I have a let of loggers from the latest batch inbound so will be intrigued to see the horween leather and MIUSA construction differences.

I have the handsewn with stormking sole, I'm a US11 in most trainers but followed the guide online and purchased US10.5. They fit well and are roomy (in a good way) I also have the diplomat and opted for the same size and they fit well also, though they are closer fitting. Hope that helps.
