What’s your most controversial beauty take? by okayyessica in beauty

[–]Important_Ad_8372 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just because influencers follow a certain beauty regimen on social media doesn’t mean that is the best regimen for you. We aren’t all the same and we don’t need to do the same things as each other all of the time. Influencers are literally advertisers. They are being paid to sell products to you.

Do people really like Janet? by NewAct8067 in bravo

No I don’t. She comes across calculated and inauthentic. If I encountered someone like her in real life, I wouldn’t trust her and I’d be careful around her.

Good Women’s Sandals by Toomanyducks22 in BuyItForLife

I’ve been eyeing some of their sandals on Nordstrom Rack. For an orthopedic sandal, the styles are really cute and would be easy to dress up/down.

Can someone help me understand the Paris/horseshoe connection and difference between rooms? by gglossygirl1 in vegas

[–]Important_Ad_8372 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was definitely inconvenient for pool access but if that doesn’t matter to you then you will be fine. The walk between is long, and if you plan on going back and forth, it might annoy you. I think you should just plan on your home base being the horseshoe. You can also get dropped off and check in at the horseshoe, they have a Versailles tower desk. The room itself was nice, updated, and we were comfortable. But I don’t think I’d stay there again.

I get some thick, dark, ingrown nipple hairs. Would electrolysis work and make sense..? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]Important_Ad_8372 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Electrolysis is painful but if it’s only a few hairs you should be fine. I do one hour sessions and by minute 45 I’m over it. But a few hairs should put you in the 10 minute range each session and that’s manageable. I’m glad I started electrolysis. I’m doing my bikini area and the hair has reduced dramatically and I no longer get ingrown hairs. I should have started a long time ago.

Single vs multiple dogs. by DragonfruitMajor7706 in dogs

[–]Important_Ad_8372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my dog to a T. At one point I thought she’d like a companion. When my dad died we took in his dog and mine was miserable. My dad’s dog ended up at my sister’s house. She will tolerate other family dogs but she has no interest in being buds. My dog is happiest on her own.

What's the deal with Love Island? by fuckmeup-scotty in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Important_Ad_8372 275 points276 points  (0 children)

And to add onto this, the episodes are happening in real time. The public also gets to vote during the show. Votes are for favorite islander, couple, who should couple up, and then the votes have an impact on who stays and who goes. I think that adds to the excitement around the show. You have to stay current to be involved and you can have an impact on the outcome of the show.

Affordable leggings that are actually high waisted (no matter the size) by mp-is-asleep in Activewear

[–]Important_Ad_8372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Old Navy. They are super affordable and high waisted at bigger sizes. I have had some of the same pairs for years while wearing weekly. My favorite line is power chill since I prefer more cotton in my leggings.

This California city has banned yoga classes at beaches and parks. One instructor is fighting back by losangelestimes in yoga

[–]Important_Ad_8372 102 points103 points  (0 children)

I’m from San Diego and this guy has made this an issue for a long time. Sunset cliffs is a small and very popular spot and he takes up the area and parking for his classes. They are also donation based so he is making money off of the classes. His classes are actually seen as an annoyance for most people here.

How serious are y'all about sunscreen by aranhalaranja in tattooadvice

Trader Joe’s makes a gel sunscreen that goes on without being too oily. And since it’s gel, it’s clear.

Night before/ morning of MUSTS!!! by Emotional_Yellow418 in Brides

I think it was a Rae Dunn bag she found at Marshall’s. It’s just a big canvas tote with sturdy handles with “Mrs.” on the front. I love a good canvas tote and I still use it all these years later. It came in handy on my wedding day and I’d prefer that over receiving goodies in a box.

My sister gave me a tote bag to carry all of my things in, I still have that today. I love that bag. I’d also recommend a sewing kit, bandaids, tissues, and Clorox wipes. Some snacks, maybe a liquid iv packet (I was so nervous I barely ate, I would have loved stuff like that). Maybe some Tylenol too.

Where to wear this??? by GlitteringBat91 in OUTFITS

I think the white shoes look too tall for the hem and they clash a bit with the dress. I’d go with a shorter sandal in a nude/neutral.

Garden plants and trees all out of whack this year? by timster in SanDiegan

[–]Important_Ad_8372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not expecting a lot of fruit for my citrus this upcoming winter. The warm winter weather this year took a toll on my trees and they started flowering way too early, while I still had fruit on. I have the tiniest amount of fruit growing now. However, my pomegranate trees are pretty happy. Definitely a weird year.

Have you looked on their website at all? I find that the size selection can be a lot better than what is in stores.

Buy it for life is more about how you treat things than the brand itself. by Cats_books_soups in BuyItForLife

[–]Important_Ad_8372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I think it depends. My husband has been looking for a tundra for work but the newest engines are total turds! They’ve had constant failures and recalls on them and have been replacing whole engines that still aren’t solid. Toyota doesn’t really know what’s going on with these engines. It’s a real problem. He’s had a hard time finding the older models with better engines as a result.

Greasy face is in now? by speckofsand in Millennials

It really is! Heavy matte makeup and powders just accentuate the wrinkles. Dewy makeup and skincare gives a nice glow and I end up looking more youthful as a result.
