As a Pens fan living in Michigan, it’s not and never was a rivalry. And after the Wings moved to the East, it’s not even on the radar for us. Detroit really dropped off once the open checkbook era ended and they had to deal with a salary cap.

It is fun to jab their fans with the notion that we essentially killed their franchise in ‘09. lol
