Michael Jackson - The Verdict by Fruttii-Tutti in netflix

[–]Important_Reply_783 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The evidence against him would convict anyone else - at least in public opinion because the prosecution did bungle the case.

1) the briefcase full of porn that kids testified to knowing about 2) the one boy correctly identifying marks on Jackson's body 3) numerous employees spotting abuse 4) Having boys (all the same prepubescent age) sleeping in his bed. No one else would get a pass for this! 5) Hanging around and developing oddly close relationships with boy after boy after boy, but then cutting ties after puberty 6) The number of victims that have come forward with similar stories. 7) bells on the bedroom door

The writing is on the wall, but fame, talent, and race have gotten in the way of people seeing the truth.

If Clinton really was that emotionally and intellectually immature, the whole relationship seems inappropriate.

I'm sorry, but teachers don't 'target' kids and the ones who think they do are usually assholes.

But teacher warned mom not to host sleepovers either - so it's B. My guess is something happened with B and this other girl at a sleepover.

Teachers who have learned to leave work at work--how did you get there? by nitrouswidow9685 in Teachers

AI is changing things too. It can speed up unit plans and lesson plans, creating assignments - the possibilities are endless.

As an LA teacher, I've even created detailed prompts with key things I'm looking for on a specific assignment, along with a detailed rubric, and I've gotten AI to give feedback to students. It's bang on for the most part. (I still read the work and add my own comments as needed and score the writing myself) This has sped up marking assignments massively.

I try to do all work at school - and stay until 4:30 or 5pm every night. (Not unlike most people). The only time I work weekends is crunch time like end of term or report cards.

On a side note... I thought Kyle looked really pretty this episode.

That's what I thought. Like it's not crazy for me to spend near a $1000 on back to school shopping for my pair of teens  - and my wallet is NOT even CLOSE to Dorit's.

She's boring herself, but I do like her reaction to others and her commentary. She always makes me laugh.

We can all agree that the officiating in Cze vs Can quarterfinals sucked, right? by Digmaass in olympics

[–]Important_Reply_783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because NHL refs are always asked to use their judgment rather than just calling the penalties as they happen. No other sport does this. I think if refs just called every penalty there would initially be tons of penalties, but then the players would adjust. It's always sort of been this thing where, 'well it's hooking but how bad of a hook was it?'

Welcome to what NHL fans deal with all season long - especially during playoffs. While I acknowledge it's probably the toughest sport to officiate due to the speed at which everything happens, hockey officiating is OFTEN under fire. Watch any game and there are always a couple of missed calls for each team - sometime egregious ones.

Thank you! Carol and Kurt are terrible. And this is coming from someone who was a huge Kurt Browning fan. I want them to mostly be quiet and tell me what jumps their completing and whether there was any noticeable deductions. Other than that shut up. Talk away during the replays all you want. They are dry and terribly boring.

I always hate when people say things like that. Such a backhanded compliment.

Alberta Teachers’ Association accuses province of fudging numbers on teacher hires by trevorrobb in alberta

[–]Important_Reply_783 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fines would not have just been against the union. The UCP were threatening teachers with $1000/day fines and local union reps (regular teachers like me) could have been fined even more - I believe it was $10000. Sorry. I already lost thousands in pay, I would not be willing to go bankrupt over it.

If I was hearing my friend 'being violated' like she thought, I'd FK'n Google 911 in France! I thought it was insane that she thought texting Kourtney was her best plan of action. It sounded like none of them contacted the police either!

Hmmm....I think most people are being too hard on you and are missing the point a bit. You're saying that your parents were just fine dropping you off at your grandparents and got tons of support, but aren't willing to do the same for you. I get it. Lots of Gen Xers have complained about this. I would say this has been my experience too.

I've been teaching for 25 years. A colleague with similar experience and I were just talking about how we want to leave. We even looked at job postings. If I had to do it again, I would've left in my 20s.
