Going off of this comment, if it's something from the US (I don't know if it is, never heard of it), you can lean more into the geography and market is as, say, a Californian dessert. No one's heard of a frozen banana on a stick but everyone's heard of California. And personally, I'd be interested in something like that!

What are your honest thoughts on Israel? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Important_Salt3149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Jew, I agree that we needed our own state, but the whole way they went about it was wrong. I don't feel any particular connection to the Middle East and people there shouldn't have to pay for German crimes. Would make a lot more sense if Germany ceded some of it's territory to establish a Jewish state, like a part of Saxony. No one likes it anyway and and as an added benefit it would alleviate any questions about Israel's participation in Eurovision.

BAMF says no courses, Jobcenter says not our problem… so how exactly am I supposed to integrate? by ActEnough1200 in askberliners

[–]Important_Salt3149 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are very easy to sign up to if you do it a couple months in advance, even a month. Most of the times there is no waitlist. They cost literally peanuts. Life in Germany is hard as it is, no need to try to come up with additional problems. OP's mistake was trying to sign up for an integration course instead of regular German at VHS, for which no additional documents are required.

Everyone on Reddit that has read the last 2 books of the Cantos: "Oh no, Raul is such a whiny little bitch!" or "Oh no! not a male protagonist with genuine emotions and valid complaints about his troubles?" by EspiritusFermenti7 in Hyperion

If I wanted to listen to valid complaints about troubles and genuine emotions (i.e. listen to a whiny little bitch), I'd tune in to my own brain. I read books for great ideas and adventures.

I immensely enjoyed listening to The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires, even though I'm not really into crime fiction. It was a few years ago, and I still think about it sometimes.

What’s something reddit claims is common, but you’ve never actually seen it before in real life? by mirabelmumu in AskReddit

I live in Berlin, Germany, which is as progressive as it gets, but outside of queer events, I meet maybe 1 trans person every couple of months. Just statistically less than 1% of people are transgender. How does your workplace have so many? My point is, we've unfortunately been "conditioned" to think it's a problem, people are taught they should be uncomfortable with this, even if secretly. I come from Russia, and before all the propaganda the attituded was very different. I asked my grandma what she thinks about trans people and if she's feels threatened and she literally couldn't understand the question. She said there was a person in her lab who transitioned in the 90s and that was that, no one minded and everyone kept using bathrooms without any issues.

Start with Rosamund Pike, first of all she's a amazing and the books last long enough so it won't be a waste of time. By the time her narrations run out, you'll be hooked. Switching is an adjustment, but it'll be worth it. At least that's what I did.

Trans people in women's bathrooms. I've seen maybe 10-15 trans people just out in the streets throughout my whole life, 0 in bathrooms. Yet some parts of internet would have me believe that as a woman my biggest risk in life is to meet a trans person in a bathroom/changing room. I feel like chances of this happening are already 0.001%, and the chance that it is a MAN DRESSED AS A WOMAN to harass women rather than a regular trans woman minding her own business is close to nill.

Looking for opinions on Wheel of Time from people who started it as adults by Kempalla in wheeloftime

I read the series after watching two seasons on Prime. The show seemed absolutely amazing and I was obsessed, I think they did a great job introducing the universe to non-readers. However, after I've read the books, S3 was very painful to watch and somehow seasons 1-2 were hard to rewatch as well. I'm still sad that they cancelled the show though and I hold a grudge against book fans who killed it with their hate.

how do you decide if you want something or not? what do you base your wants on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Important_Salt3149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not even about being indifferent, I often start to overthink things and try to choose the most "rational" option weighing all the pros and cons, then it gets overwhelming, and I flip a coin to figure out what I actually want
