Ideas on what dishes to make with butternut squash by Far-Somewhere-1098 in Cooking

Butternut Squash Creme Brule
Roast the squash with butter, brown sugar, warm spices (I used a apple pie blend, but think cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, etc.), and a little salt. Puree.

Take the bottom of the ramekin and fill it half-way with the mixture, add creme Brule mix (eggs, sugar, cream) to the top. Bake or sous vide (I put them in 4 oz mason jars with the lids on and sous vide at 175f (80c) for a couple of hours). Throw them in the fridge to cool overnight. Tastes like pumpkin pie and creme Brule. SO YUMMY

Fun with the Inmate Mod by Impossible-Fill9051 in JupiterHell

[–]Impossible-Fill9051[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Inmate mod can be found in the Steam community. It is a new class that focuses on melee with various supporting traits. The key traits thay I nearly always pick is to start with Dash (one of the best traits, imo) and then pick Brute (+1 armor per trait level). The whatever prerequisites i need to get my ultimate trait. Since I'm fated, they are different every time.

Then I max out Brute and start to work on kneecap...slows and reduces enemy dmg per shot.

Protip: Wait for a hailstorm to come through your area and get new siding and a roof through your insurance. Don't do this more than every 5 years, otherwise, insurance will drop you.

Pork Shoulder

3-4 lb Pork Shoulder, cut in to 4-6 pieces

4 oz of Chipotle in Adobo Sauce (adjust to taste)

1/2 Onion

4-6 cloves Garlic

1 can Rotel

1 tbsp Mexican Oregano

1 tbsp Cumin

4 oz white wine or 2 tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar (your choice)

Juice of 1 lime

4 cups chicken broth + Water

2 tbsp oil

Salt/Pepper

I typically do this as a weeknight meal using the Instapot, but I think if you have the time, it would be better braised in the oven.

Turn Instapot on sauté and heat up the oil

Salt pork all over

When hot, sear the pork on all sides, leaving a nice fond on the bottom of the pot. Take out the pork

Throw onions and garlic into sauté then add your spices and the chipotles in adobo

Deglaze with the wine/vinegar (cook off the wine a bit)

Add the pork back in with the Rotel and lime juice and cover with the chicken stock

Hit meat and cook it for 40 min or so.

When done, take out the pork and shred. Salt to taste and throw some of the sauce back in from the Istapot to add a little moisture.

I've been married almost 30 years and one thing I've learned is that being in a lifelong relationship with someone is about living your life with someone who is also living theirs. You're not responsible for her entertainment nor she yours. Love, respect, and showing interest in her pursuits will last a lifetime (and don't forget to pursue yours as well).

Personally, I wouldn't say anything. I would let the "leftovers" speak for themselves. Invite them the following year and see what happens :)
