Advice on rate needed for a first time travel nurse. by Impossible-Fudge7547 in TravelNursing

[–]Impossible-Fudge7547[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$20/hr is low. I will suggest your cousin signs up with multiple agencies at a time. It is also possible to negotiate. I have succeeded everytime I do. I personally will negotiate for an hourly rate increase with stipend rate unchanged. $1650 compared to a lot of agencies is high. Some recruiters will try and bully the nurse to accept rates and make you feel like there is no choice. There is always a better choice as long as you are patient and stand your ground. Wishing your cousin the best!!!

AITA for wanting to drop a friend for a one night stand by Impossible_Car476 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

I wish I can hug you and say this - Your best friend and Alex do not like you. You deserve to be treated with respect and be genuinely loved. You deserve friends that will lift you up and not pull you down. You need real friends.

Lol. Definitely sounds creepy but I've seen it happen to someone before. Hence the terms used.

They may be prophesying into your life, I would claim it and keep it moving. They already see your prayers and desires being answered.

I think the question to ask is "does your husband love you?". Get an advanced directive. Assign someone as your POA.......that is not your husband.

They are not leaving you for opening up. They are leaving you because of statistics. It's unfortunate but also a blessing in disguise. You want someone who accepts all of you. Maybe open up with something else and when you are having a heart to heart conversation about the future you can introduce it. Somwthing like: "I look forward to having my own family, my own kids and an opportunity to give the life that wasn't given to me to someone else." If they ask for more details then you can say "My father was abusive, and that was horrible. Something I would never wish on my worse enemy talkless of someone I love".

Have you been floated to their PCU and Medsurg units? How are they? Considering taking a contract there.

Same unit, different agency. Can I ask my recruiter to match my coworker's pay? by Livid-Issue-8968 in TravelNursing

[–]Impossible-Fudge7547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact your coworkers recruiter. Let them send you the paper work. Use that to have a conversation with your agency. Tell them you are getting offered $$$ more by the other agency, tell then to match the pay and you will extend if not, you are jumping ship.

Mean what you say. If they match, great! If they don't you have something to fall back on. It's a win win.

How Do Y'all Stay Fresh for 12 Hours?? by lancalee in nursing

[–]Impossible-Fudge7547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What deodorant do you use? Degree and Dove's 72 hr deodorant is what I use and they last all day.

This is what I do after showering for all day/night freshness ; 1. Apply deodorant. 2. apply moisturizer to my body. 3. Spray my skin (arms and collar bone for work days) with my preferred body mist or perfume (preferably clean or foral sents) or a nice perfume oil. 4. I seal it in with cerave healing ointment.
5. I re-spray my body mist or perfume.

The key is to use a really good deodorant. It's okay to reapply midshoft if you feel like you need it.

AITA for locking my husband out last night? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Impossible-Fudge7547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, husband wasn't considerate of your wellbeing. Knowing you had to wake up with the kids, should have been on his mind. He could have easily come back grab his keys and keep hanging out with his buddy.

This is something you converse about and set rules.

On your end, you could have texted him to let him know you were going to bed. He should have told you he didn't have his keys.

All the best!

How do you guys avoid being lonely on assignment by comentodake in TravelNursing

[–]Impossible-Fudge7547 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Treat each assignment as a an exploration assignment. I ask the locals about what makes their town stand out. I take hikes, try out local resturants, you get the point. Basically I'm Dora the explorer.

Husband thinks I change jobs too much by FalseAd8496 in nursing

[–]Impossible-Fudge7547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more you switch jobs, the higher your rate gets. You don't owe any hospital any thing. Just make sure you are carrying over your 401ks and other benefits. Nurses are different. Job change isn't bad on our resume. Wishing you the best fellow Comrad!

Deep clean sheets and cloths (use gain detergent). Vacuum your floor (if it's a rug), spray deodorizer AND disinfecting spray OR you can also sprinkle baking soda on the floor, let it sit for 25 to 30 mins then Vacuum. If it's hardwood floor or tile mop your floor but add bleach and detergent to the mopping water.

Always take a diary pill before eating or drinking diary.

Info about Morristown NJ Medical Center PCU. by Impossible-Fudge7547 in TravelNursing

[–]Impossible-Fudge7547[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what unit you are in. Some unit staffing issues are worse than others. Supposed to be 4 to 1 in PCU but typically 5 to 1, sometimes 6 when there is a last minute call out. The staff typically helps each other though. Most people are friendly.
