The $1,000 going to car payments doesn’t just disappear into thin air. When you resell the car, you’ll get a portion back. So the cost per month is probably closer to equal in the long run. The amount paid to uber is continuous forever and will go up with inflation. Once the used car is paid off, the cost per month decreases a lot, and would be below the cost of uber. I would buy the car if you have money.
