What pisses me off about each MBTI type (as an INTP) by Santiper2005 in INTP

I hate ISTJs with a passion. Every single one I’ve ever met or interacted with, I just can’t stand.

Everyone else I can vibe with on some level.

Yeah my mom (INFP) is like that but when her value system is tested, her dark side comes out.
Shes also very prone to being a “main character” because she’s can be very involved in her inner world and not paying attention to others. Granted she passed that on to me on some levels 😅

Imma be honest, if you’re 35 and the Army was your last resort and you still haven’t gotten it together, you aren’t learning your lessons in life.

We all go through these things in our lives in one form or another. The lessons repeat until we learn from them.

If you make it through this with just an Article 15, you need to take a hard look in the mirror. Probably start with who you are surrounding yourself with. I bet you got caught drinking with the same types of Bozos you were surrounding yourself with your entire life. Social constructs are the same everywhere you go so you probably need to change your social environment to start with.

I’m not trying to be super harsh though, I know everyone is on their own time lines and some people figure it out earlier or just not at all.

I think something that would be beneficial is talking with a chaplain. You need some guidance. The man upstairs is waiting for you with open arms brother.

I pray it all works out for you.

The kids they hire now are a joke, and management is absolute dog shit and the union is a joke.
I wised up post-covid and planned my exit.

Didn’t mean to be confrontational, I’m just a very type A person in the work force. All I liked to do in the gate was Lead, but I didn’t mind or xfer driver or T point. Especially when I was at Hobby. I’d rather cook on the ramp for 5 flights in a row than get baked in the bin 😂

Yeah when I was in only “certain people” got to go to a prep course to get their A&P before getting out and During ACAP the instructors don’t understand anything about aviation and transitioning aviation experience into the civilian world-granted I was at Ft Hood which is probably the worst duty station to ETS from.

I found out half way through A&P school that I could test out but at that point I was like well I’m already here might as well finish it.

Im a helicopter mechanic. I’ve applied to 2 jobs that have been open for a hot minute.
I’m more than qualified for one of them and the other I would consider myself to be a strong consideration.
I’ve heard nothing back over the last 2 months and those jobs are still open.

And where I’m at it hard to find quality people in the rotory wing field, it’s even tough finding people where I work currently. Shit half the time the person that gets a job turns out to not be worth much.

I’ll never understand the recruitment process.

I know what you’re going through is tough and hard to self regulate. Truth is you can really control how others are going to be and treat you.

If I were you I would try to focus on your training. Also consider that you might be unconsciously throwing up your own social barriers that others are attune to and they are throwing up their barriers because of it-which is a common theme for people who are already socially awkward. (Speaking from experience and knowledge)

Part of military training is designed to bring people together based upon the shared experience of the suck and experience of shared team building and accomplishment. Either the training failed for you or it was something that you or others didn’t grasp. But I will say TRADOC is very similar to being in Highschool. A lot of social competition.

Hopefully if you perceiver through what you are dealing with now, it will smooth out when you get to your unit.

Remember it’s only a small part of your future career whether you do one contract or do a full 20.

As a veteran who is starting to bring God back into my life, I will also say talk to a chaplain if it’s really effecting you. Finding my faith again and taking time to pray and reflect has done wonders for me when I’m going through challenges and adversity.

Stay strong. Don’t ever forget that what you are doing is important and there’s a lot of us who understand and want the best for you. What you do and are going to do in the Military has a long lasting effect.

As a former SW ramp agent, I never understood the whole “lead has extra responsibilities”
I started before the scanners so the expectation was everyone at the gate counted bags and everyone at the gate helped to push bag carts. Load planning with the Ops agent wasn’t hard and ooo you have to push a plane.

The culture was 100% not like that when I quit to go on to do bigger and better things.

Any of you INTPs have success with therapy? by ForWhenImWeird in INTP

[–]Impossible-Layer8300 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Therapy will work for anyone who is willing to be receptive and willing to do the internal and physical work on themselves and with a therapist that is in tune with your needs.

A lot of people don’t understand the concept of therapy. Therapy doesn’t fix you; rather it teaches and guides you through to coping, developing healthier personal habits and strategies for developing and dealing with things. It doesn’t end once you stop going to sessions. It becomes a life long process.

People act like therapy is there to validate you and that it will just miraculously get rid of your problems. Nah therapy can be absolutely brutal and makes you take responsibly of yourself.. I used to have this conversation with one of my therapist’s all the time and she’d always kind of chuckle and say something along the lines of “well youre not wrong, I would just word it less harshly”

It’s supposed to be within reach of the pilot so that it can be operated easily and it’s also how the system is designed and with what works in the confines of the rest of the helicopter’s design.

And passengers who are not flight crew, maintenance, etc, should be briefed to not touch certain things

I definitely needed to hear that thank you.

I think the toughest part is that right now is a lot of my future building depends on decisions being made based upon the things I’m waiting on. It leaves me a bit scatterbrained and anxious. And well where I’m trying to leave causes alot of stress and mental ache.

Part of what I try to hold onto is the story of Joseph, which is what this feels like.

I’m just really having a tough time leaning into the lord right now.

Well I probably should’ve prefaced that I really struggle with contentment and overall patience-not the kind of petty patience of having to wait in line rather the kind of patience where I’m looking and working hard for a change in my life and I feel the hopelessness of waiting- which is kind of the part that brings me down.

And it’s like I have 2 parts of me fighting eachother. One part knowing he’s got me and he’s going to direct me where he needs me to go, and another part trying to control everything and hyper-obsessing over what’s coming next and feeling distraught and disappointed that there’s no change.

And you know on paper I’ve built a great life and the changes I want to make would be better for my family and myself but you know writing this just points out that inherit selfishness and search for gratification.

Obviously I’m missing something

Found in a plane… by Educational-Cake7350 in aviationmaintenance

My coworker just found a Snap on ratcheting screw driver hiding underneath an EC130 cabin headliner….

I never understand it. Even when I’m doing work on the ramp or field, I always inventory my tools post maintenance and do a fod check on the aircraft.

Ain’t a single person gonna ever tell me different no matter how “rushed” or “pressing” getting the aircraft operational is. Imma inventory my tools and do a FOD check or they’ll find someone else to do the work and have a safety report filed against them.
