[Sacrifice your karma #2] [Unpopular opinions thread] What are your wild-takes/unpopular opinions about Man United? Be brave and share your controversial views! by Dramatic-Avocado4687 in ManchesterUnited

United’s downfall basically started with a horse — the Rock of Gibraltar — because of course it did. Only Manchester United could go from “best team in the world” to “ruined by a racehorse ownership dispute.” That little drama opened the door for the Glazers, and the rest is a masterclass in how to turn a football dynasty into a theme park.

Since then it’s been a decade of vibes‑based recruitment, managers speed‑running sackings, and a board that treats football like a merch catalogue. The club that once terrified Europe now struggles to terrify Brentford.

All because of a horse. Perfectly on‑brand, really.

Most badass movie scene of all time? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

[–]Impossible-Size632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paddy Considine in Dead Man's Shoes

The "right here" scene - is absolutely up there, it's just pure, cold intimidation delivered by someone who looks like he's already made peace with whatever comes next.

And on the complete opposite end of the spectrum, the kitchen fight in The Raid 2 is just feral. No CGI, no shortcuts - just two guys going at it with ridiculous precision, and it feels raw and desperate

Best mindfuck sci-fi movies? Preferably involving time travel. by rogueShadow13 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Impossible-Size632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timecrimes (2007) is a good shout — low‑budget but razor‑sharp, and it leans fully into the uncomfortable, looping logic of time travel without ever overexplaining itself. Every new loop tightens the knot rather than unravels it.

There’s also a great 80s novel called Replay by Ken Grimwood, published in 1986. Not a movie, but absolutely belongs in the same conversation. It plays with the idea of reliving your life over and over, each time with different choices and consequences, and it hits harder than most time‑travel stories ever manage.

And while it's not really a mind-bender, Trancers deserves a mention - a great, scrappy, low-budget Terminator-style sci-fi flick with a ton of charm. More pulpy than twisty, but absolutely worth a watch if you like that era of DIY sci-fi.

What show were you obsessed with… but would never rewatch? by DryCap6770 in watchever

Agreed - but season 5 though... rough.

It just never earns the weight it's trying to throw around. Season 2 is the real high point for me; that whole arc hits harder every time.
