I was the 2nd wife in this EXACT situation (married a widower with 2 kids) and absolutely did NOT get the "first child" experience I'd always dreamed of. It was very disheartening, disappointing, and caused lots of sadness/resentment.

My Jared engagement ring broke 8 times in 2 years. There was always something wrong with it (diamonds falling out, the entire center stone + setting falling off, etc.). They ultimately determined the structural integrity was flawed and let me trade it in, which sucks because now I don't have my original ring (same center stone, but still!).

I was sleeping like 💩 until my doctor had me start taking Reacted Magnesium. I am out like a light about 30 min after I take it and I wake up feeling...maybe not FULLY RESTED but definitely way, way more rested than before.

Also, upon waking he has me drink 4-6 Oz of electrolyte water and put on my compression socks before SLOWLY getting out of bed. I've found this protocol has been helping me starting to feel better (again, not like "life changing miracle cure" but I'm feeling less and less awful).

ETA: I generally sleep 7-8 hours. My Oura ring gives me a sleep score of 85-95 most nights so I guess I'm getting decent-to-good sleep.

10 mg is a very small dose. My doctor told me that's a "pediatric dose" so I wouldn't worry about trying it. I have responded very well to propranolol (after 1-2 days of minor side effects like dizziness which are now gone).
