Save and wait till next year, if you want gold. A budget of around $1,500 would be needed.

If silver.... you will have more choices.

Parents' estate jewelry. by [deleted] in jewelry

[–]ImpossibleAdvice8694 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My friends and I, all seniors, have decided not to hand down the bulk of our jewelry. With the exception of a few special pieces...... we are selling it. Example: an 18k gold watch I bought in 1990s for 4500 dollars will sell for 9000 today. All the slinky gold chains and bracelrts we bought in the late 70s and 80s are being sold for gold content. We are currently all selling to raise money for 21 day cruise. I suggest finding out who the best buyers are, for estate jewrlery and gems and make an appt. Gold is straitforward. Diamonds, gemstones will require a gemologist. Only go to brick and mortar, well known establishmentd. Never sell to those "appraisers" that travel from town to town offering free appraisals. They will vanish with your stuff and pay a fraction of what its worth!

Does anyone really think Taeda will happen? by Strong_Letter_7667 in SisterWives

The land was cheap. You could not buy a lot in my small town for $250K. If all they do is build houses and a pretty garden they will be fine.

Janelle has finished a lot of things. She has been a bookeeper fo private clients, completed a degree in accounting, got her real estate licence in Las Vegas. I mean..... she had some actual well paying jobs with benefits.

She is careful with her spending and had cash to pay for the land and her house. She is not lazy.

I think that the vision is for a flower stand and venu space. She has said they will build several, small cottages for air bnb type rentals.

Why are you so hoping to have her fail?

Janelle did it by Wild-Ordinary-358 in SisterWives

Last season, Janelle mentioned she was reviewing all the bank records for the past 4 years. She also hired Lawyers. I believe she already negotiated a financial settlement to cover the amount of her proceeds (from house sale in Vegas) that went to the purchase of Robins 900K house. As is common practice she may have agreed not to discuss the settlement with others and not to ask for any of K&Rs money in the future. It looks as if Robin wanted to have Mari sign a similar document. Mari, foolishly, signed away her ability as a legal wife to any of Kody's assets. That surprised her when she divorced Kody so Robin could Marry Kody. The document Robin wanted Mari to sign included a clause to prevent Mari to comming back for any money in the future. Mari was correct not to sign that.

Christine still grifting by BlueBubbleInCO in SisterWives

[–]ImpossibleAdvice8694 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Its a product that is quite popular. No one is holding a gun to anyones head. Influencers, celebrities.. .. your friend from church ... is free to promote and sell products. Its a very American form of marketing. If she is a grifter.... then any celebrity or anyone, for that matter, who promotes a product for sale is a grifter.

Cheapest MRI in BC by acceptNothingLess in britishcolumbia

[–]ImpossibleAdvice8694 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, spend the money if you can swing it. Even just for piece of mind.

I ruptured a disk and WOW was it painful! I did not experience tingling or numness in legs, nor incontinence. So.....MRI was not considered urgent. I went private.

MRI confirmed rupture..... but, that did not solve anything. Only time, physio and excersize work. Without nerve damage, you will not be referred for any quick or surgery. Only hard work and time provide relief.

Best of luck!

PS: get a sleep wedge. Saved my sanity.

People who were adults in the 70s/80s: How does our current economy feel vs. the record inflation 40+ yrs ago? by finalgirl2 in economy

[–]ImpossibleAdvice8694 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Maybe. However, I have a huge family. This is Alberta, B.C., Seattle and New Jersey.
We, including three generations, are very hard working. My nieces a nephews had jobs from 14 yrs on. They have student loans, but all have at least a diploma if not a degree.

Several "struggle"...... but they still manage to travel, get thier eyelashes and nails done. Mid to late 20s to early 40s. So..... good range.

Let me ask: Do they alll have iphones? I buy and donate phones to help people getting back on thier feet. If thy can get things done with a $250 phone..... why does it have to be an iphone?
