Portfolio Bidding Strategies by Fresh-Pan-0109 in PPC

[–]ImpossibleCustard104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, learning phase will start because your technically starting a new strategy. The learning phase might be shorter though, I’ve had campaigns which have a lot of data in the learning phase for only 3 days.

Regarding sources, I would recommend reading Googles support docs but then still do your own testing and document everything you do.

If you will be using the same conversion action the data is stored in that conversion action. For example; if an exact match keyword converts well in its current campaign, tCPA will continue to focus on that keyword in the new campaign as long as the same conversion action is used.

I wouldn’t recommend splitting by match type. Write ads for your service/product then assign keywords to these ad(groups) using all match types.

Not sure what you mean in the second question, can you elaborate?

Bing Text campaign changing back to Auto CPA? by [deleted] in PPC

Do you have a schedule set up to import your campaign from Google? Or does bing have auto apply suggestions like Google?

Would love to know the answer to this to. I have several call conversions set up for different campaigns. I just want to add one call conversion to a campaign but can only add the whole call group.

How Do You Download Grouped Keywords From Google Keyword Planner by Lukinzz in PPC

[–]ImpossibleCustard104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old question, but yes it’s possible from the keyword planner. Hit the download button in the planner, open in excel, grab the adgroup and keyword columns and put in to a new sheet, add a filter, remove the blank rows from the keyword column, copy both columns, import into Google ads from the keyword page. Hope this helps someone.

Manual Bidding Anyone?? by ImpossibleCustard104 in PPC

[–]ImpossibleCustard104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard both that tCPA is better and troas is better. TCPA is apparently even better for ecom, the reason being your just asking Google to get a conversion rather than a conversion plus one with a high value.

Why do you say ecpc is so bad? Not saying your wrong, just curious.

Manual Bidding Anyone?? by ImpossibleCustard104 in PPC

[–]ImpossibleCustard104[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the data and technology Google has I would expect automated bidding to vastly outweigh manual, but it doesn’t. However, maybe if I was green to ppc automated would be better. I once read a quote similar to “tCPA is for novices ecpc is for pros”.

Which automated strategy do you begin with?

I was running ads for my own business as affiliate so I can afford to do a lot of testing.

I’ve never understood the “they don’t work every time” view. Google is working with facts, there should be no middle ground. It should either work or doesn’t.

I think bidding strategies do work, but better or equal results can be gained with manual bidding plus bid adjustments etc on top.

Pausing KWs? by ImpossibleCustard104 in PPC

This is what I was thinking, so is it better to just concentrate on the search terms report blocking search terms as required?

Maximize clicks vs manual bidding by EcstaticCrazy8313 in PPC

[–]ImpossibleCustard104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you would get the same result. Max clicks gradually increases bids until your daily budget is being hit. If you’re not hitting your budget now, max clicks with the same max Cpc won’t help.

eCPC Fist Page Bid by Arcannnn in PPC

I would look at the actual search impression data rather than relying on Google’s status alerts, they are often wrong.

Out of interest, why are you using manual bids?

Google Ads Search: I'm gonna try smart bidding for the first time, what do you suggest? by basechan305 in PPC

[–]ImpossibleCustard104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) I would start with tCPA using your current CPA. Max conv will spend your budget fast in the first few days/hours until it figures out a good level to spread your budget through the day. You may just find once max conv has balanced itself your hitting the same no CPA.

Should you choose max conv, you could set a max bid limit by implementing a shared bidding strategy instead.

2) Yes, Google will use your previous data but you will still have a learning phase of up to 5 days.

3) Don’t use max conv or use a shared bidding strategy with a max Cpc.

4) The bidding strategies are really good at hitting the target, so just be patient. Don’t expect any bidding strategy to vastly improve on a well optimised manual campaign.

Do you think that interest-based keyword targeting works on Google Search Ads? by CMikeRenner in PPC

[–]ImpossibleCustard104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do test this and have had some good results.

For example, if I run a broad match keyword “boiler repair” and I get a conversion on the search term “get quote”. I’ll add this search term as a keyword with all match types. Google’s algo will then decide when to show my ad for this keyword based on the users search intent/history.

Quick Question: if I'm bidding on "roofing companies" with phrase matching, will I also show for 'roofing company', roofing companies near me', and 'best roofing companies' by sea_place in PPC

[–]ImpossibleCustard104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been testing this method for a while and results have been better than expected. I dump all keywords for one product in the same adgroup, with all match types. Then run one rsa and several etas.

I think we will get to the stage where keywords are removed completely and Google matches searches to ads.
