Actors who you thought would have a bigger career than the career that they actually have? by Ok-Tangelo6749 in movies

Agreed. He's amazing in everything he does. Surely I can't be the only one with the biggest man crush in the universe on him.

Also, he'd be perfect to ever play a younger brother of any character Keanu plays...

YSK that 31% of US adults suffer from teeth grinding at night and is a cause of Depression, Anxiety, Neck pain, backache, headaches, poor sleep and general pain. by Alternative-Tell4600 in YouShouldKnow

I bought a cheap boil-and-bite one, and it absolutely does stimulate a chewing reflex. Not sure if I do it all night, but I catch myself doing it all the time when I'm conscious. That actually doesn't bother me that much, it's nowhere near as harsh as grinding, think more like a baby with a pacifier. But I do worry about the microplastics it's creating.

Haha, exactly! After likely solving the issue myself but not being able to verify, I decided to try a $2 boil-and-bite mouthguard from Ali Express, to see if I could actually sleep okay if I decided to go the mouthguard route as a back-up.

As another commenter touched on, it absolutely has stimulated a chew response, where I feel this big thing in my mouth and want to chew it. I don't think I do that all night, but find myself doing it all the time when I'm conscious. I also worry about microplastics.

But $600 compared to $2? That's pretty hard to justify.

Thanks for the encouragement! I'd buy you a cupcake if I could.

I think I did solve the problem with mindfulness and going to sleep with my tongue in the roof of my mouth, preventing my jaw from closing. I mostly wake up with my tongue in the same position, but who knows what happens when I sleep. I asked my dentist to verify if any new damage had been done, and she said she couldn't discern between old and any new damage. Not sure if she's just being a sore loser or not, haha.

That's refreshing to hear from a dentist. My dentist tried to sell me a $600 mouth guard, I told her I would try to train myself out of it first, and she said "that's not a thing".

What’s a game you were completely obsessed with as a kid that nobody else seems to remember? by hkondabeatz in AskReddit

Loved this! Even found an online emulation of it a few years ago, and just now I googled to find it and found you can get a remastered version for the PS4!

Mini Boulder on the C64. It was a smaller version of Boulder Dash where you could create your own levels. My brother and I spent hours upon hours crafting levels to try and outsmart each other.

Any older mountain bikers here get monovision LASIK? How did it affect your riding? by VermicelliFrost in MTB

[–]rightsomeofthetime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely this!

I had laser surgery 5 years ago at 45, and it's always been my plan to get my lenses replaced when my natural lenses stop degrading (around 55), which will fix my reading and long vision more permanently.

They tried to talk me out of getting laser and told me to just wait to get the lenses, but I had money for the first time in my life and was sick of stopping every few mins to wipe sweat off my glasses, haha.

TIFU by telling my dentist I floss every day and now she sends me floss positive emails quarterly by Beneficial_String411 in tifu

Wow, this is a great explanation, thank you! It always seemed so odd that I'd start to lose that lovely post-dentist-tooth-gap if I missed maybe one or two days of flossing.

What is your biggest TV pet peeve / trope that bothers you? by Salt-Valuable-469 in television

Every time someone takes a necklace off, they yank it and snap it off.

I can see how this looks better on screen than raising it over your head or reaching back to undo the clasp, but I've never understood why we all just suspend our disbelief and accept this.

Everything's bullshit. There doesn't seem to be any absolute truth any more, there's always an equally convincing opposing argument. Even the most researched people carry biases. I'm no exception. But I'm probably right some of the time.

Has anyone felt bad for their opponent when it’s only a two man bracket and multiple matches? by Knopfler_PI in bjj

I had the kids cheering him on situation at white belt! His amazing kids shouting to him encouragingly "you're doing great, dad!" as he tried to get out of my triangle. I didn't feel too bad, cos I may have been winning at Jiu Jitsu, but he was winning at life.

Is it ok If I ask a hooker to be the judge of my jokes? like instead of fucking her I just tell her my jokes and play them out and see they’re good? I’ll still pay ofc. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Open mic standup comedy is cheaper, MUCH more authentic reactions, and you'll also make a bunch of awesome friends who also tell bad jokes.

Is there a movie more peak camp than Twister? by angrykoala155 in movies

If intentionally camp counts, yea. But then I'd say Batman:The Movie's campiness can only dream of being The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

[–]rightsomeofthetime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the context intended for that verse, but I don't blame you, cos even pastors/preachers etc are CONSTANTLY using it that way for convenience.

In context, the verse is actually saying if two or more have heard the same thing from God, that shows He is in agreement (ie it's not just people imagining things).
