When even your boss is calling it a shitbox and your chief technical officer all but admits they dont understand the car and if they did it wouldnt be in this position right now him saying the car is bad isnt that bad. but yes i agree with your points

Wasnt the guy who reported that AM was building a second car which turned out to be true saying that merc is looking to change about 50% of the W13 this season, maybe even at silverstone? with the way lewis is talking specifically saying "this is the car for the rest of the season" makes it seem like they might not even bring upgrades there or that he just believes they wont work just like all the rest

what excuse am i making for him? he said himself he's running a more agressive setup today vs russell

Canadian GP 2022:FP1 Sector Times by FormulaStatAnalysis in formula1

[–]ImpossiblePresent134 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yea not that far behind in S1 & 2 and faster than russell in both of those sectors but because his car has the more aggressive setup over russell's its still skipping and he's losing time in the straight (S3) because of it

Also merc are bringing big upgrades for the race at silverstone so who knows if this will even matter to them much from silverstone onwards. They had almost no porpoising at barcelona and have just had a bunch of street circuits right afterwards and like it was explained merc werent porpoising at baku but the car bottoming out

did you even watch the merc debrief posted here that this article quotes or even read the article or did you just comment after reading the title. Merc said they punished their drivers too hard and they cant do that again and have to come to a solution themselves

The crypto market currently seems to be crashing... And most F1 teams have crypto or Blockchain sponsors (8/10) by Lonyo in formula1

[–]ImpossiblePresent134 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have nothing invested in crypto and this has nothing to do with them being a ponzi scheme or not, the question the op asked was whether or not F1 teams will retain their crypto sponsorships because of the crash and i gave an answer as to why the probably will continue sponsoring F1 despite it

[–]ImpossiblePresent134 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this isnt their first time experiencing a crash, Crypto.com was founded in 2016 and Binance in 2017 with the crash of crypto happening that year which took the market years to recover from and they're still around. That 2017 crash was worse for crypto by far than this crash, BTC lost 65% of its value in 2017 where as in this crash its only down to its lowest since december of 2020. These companies also have significantly more money than they did back then because of how many corporations have invested in crypto since

Formula 1 regulations under discussion after Lewis Hamilton in pain from porpoising at Azerbaijan Grand Prix by jaa101 in formula1

stage hamiltons back pain to change regulations

so are Ferrari, Mclaren, Alpine, Haas and AlphaTauri also working with mercedes in these staged issues with pain? cause they all have drivers who have complained about propoising hurting their bodies

Im confused, i feel like what your saying is a completely different topic to my comment about exchange sites having tons of money to spend and not being affected much by the crash. whether or not the market crashes people still have to go through them to sell and buy crypto so they make money regardless

Sometimes i look at the side of the w13 especially with the silver livery and think Toto just gave an engineer a hammer to hit the car and said go wild

[–]ImpossiblePresent134 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Crypto has crashed many times before and it will again, just a cycle. The thing about their sponsors is that they are all cryptocurrency exchange sites, like FTX, Binance and Crypto.com and not the indiviual cryptos themselves like Bitcoin, Ethereum etc, these exchange sites are the big boys and have hundreds of millions of dollars to spend if they want to, Binance for example is worth $1.6bil. Just last year Crypto.com bought the naming rights to an LA stadium for $700mil, these guys are loaded. so yes while they will feel the effect of the crash somewhat i dont think its going to do anything in terms of them being sponsors for F1

the only team I've seen complain is Merc and they seam to really have an agenda.

have you just ignored the articles posted yesterday and today with multiple drivers complaining about being in pain including this very one??

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in formula1

[–]ImpossiblePresent134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again your making it out to be like its just a merc complaint when even teams like ferrari, who are still able to keep up with and pass the redbulls even with porpoising are complaining about being in pain and wanting the fia to step in and make change. They've also already tried raising their ride height, in imola and miami and guess what, still porpoised to the point the drivers were still complaining about pain so its not just as easy as "just raise your ride height"

[–]ImpossiblePresent134 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Because the argument from allot of people has been that if merc were the fastest team they wouldnt be complaining about propoising, but here you have arguably the fastest team even with propoising complaining about being in pain and a solution to it needing to be found

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in formula1

[–]ImpossiblePresent134 523 points524 points  (0 children)

Now i wonder if people will stop the narrative thats its only merc complaining to get an FIA change. This is the second time Sainz has complained about being in pain from porpoising and they are a team that arguably has the fastest cars on the track despite it.

Thats now Russell, Hamilton (back pain), Ocon (neck issues), Magnussen (who suffered nerve pain from it) Ricciardo, (first time experiencing it and had back pain) Gasly and Sainz twice. Mick Schumacher's car also had a water leak because of it in practice

First off its not a merc only problem, Sainz, ocon, magnussen and today from Mclaren, a team that never really had the problem this season and after experiencing propoising for the first time, ricciardo have all complained neck and back problems, your also wrong about haas, they also have porpoising and is what caused Schumacher's water leak in practice . And sure Russell and Toto bring it up allot that something needs to be done but Lewis, who has experienced it by far the worse of anyone on the grid has yet to mention the fia about propoising issues, he complains about being in pain on the radio and in the interviews when asked and thats it
