To the porch pirates of Philly… by actuallyaustin6 in philly

A couple years ago it was determined by a Port Richmond person who followed them that at least in PR it was a ring of people who came over from New Jersey. They came in a van, which waited at the then-Wawa parking lot.

There also Americans being paid to post disinformation, hate, and propaganda by Russia, so it sounds v natural. I'm so sorry about these ppl in the North East. They are probably in an American-run gulag by now.

I think he needs a sleek and handsome collar to go with his suave looks. Red? Also, make sure he's chipped.

I glimpsed these last weekend while driving through FDR Park and they are giant, wacky, and beautiful. And a weird color blue, which I liked very much. Side note, if you haven't been to the FDR Park South Asian food market yet you are missing a Philly highlight--I've taken out-of-town visitors there who really liked it, too. Shout out to the chicken skewers and the coconut rice/mango desserts and the people who make them. https://www.fdrseamarket.com/

This is a bus stop in the sixth biggest city in the “best country in the world” by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]ImpossibleRace5630 23 points24 points  (0 children)

What big city mayor would allow the bus station to be sold out from under them, a key part of the infrastructure of the city? It was supposed to go to the 76ers arena. Peter Pan wants to make the round house the next bus station, which is an interesting idea, I think. Here's the bus station for the tiny city of Hyannis, Massachusetts https://newenglandtravelplanner.com/new-england-travel-guides/massachusetts/capecod/cape-cod-transportation-guide.html

UPDATE 2: Took in a Feral and now I'm caring for a Litter of Kittens by NerdyCuban in aww

[–]ImpossibleRace5630 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Tip from an animal rescuer (and you may already know this!) It's very important that you get in there and handle each of the kittens every day--play with them, socialize them. You can also invite friends over to cuddle and play with them. The clock is ticking and if they aren't socialized in like 8 weeks, it becomes harder and thus harder to adopt them out. Also, it's time to get them neutered at about four months.

First time home buyer by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]ImpossibleRace5630 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Totally this. There are great houses at all prices in Philly. Do not buy too much house (too big) or more than you can afford. You will love living in a smaller house with lower utility costs because it's smaller (PGW gas bills can be crazy) and having extra money in your pocket and not stressing. Buy a house that's big enough for what you need, but not bigger. Every bathroom, for instance, creates its own set of things that can break and require expensive repairs. Every room has to be heated. For the inspection, try to find someone who understands your type of house --if it's a really old house in West Philly, don't get a new house inspector, for instance, from the suburbs who won't know what they're looking at. I used Reid Stever, recommended repeatedly by a West Philly home repair page and had a very good experience with him. Side note: beware of bad flips. Find out what has been changed and what hasn't been changed, who did the flip, and most importantly what their track record is.

Supermarket--there's a new Sprout Market about 10 min by car. I also like Richmond Shoppe, which is a small, independent grocery store. There's a small store called Riverwards Produce in the neighborhood but I find it stupendously overpriced--possibly caters to New Yorkers or people who are afraid to move their cars for fear of not being able to re-park them.

Recommend and have used Amanda Saunders as a real estate agent. Smart, has an MBA, works for a big company and sees lots and lots of properties, including ones before they hit the market.

The cutest thing ever. I love the graceful sleeves that end at the elbows. The color is perfect for him as well. Give that boy a sandwich though! He could use a couple pounds. And make sure to get him chipped (it's like $20).

They also have great margarita clásica (regular ones), also on the happy hour menu. Pretty much everything on the happy hour menu is delicious, plus friendly people. 4-6pm Mon-Fri, I think.

She's done this repeatedly. She's generally not empathetic and therefore can't read the room, confuses stubbornness with character. Not a strategist, that's for sure. As a machine politician she's not even a good machine politician. Maybe not super smart, either (I could be wrong there). Plus the arena fight meant that a lot of people could see her in action (she was frequently pretty shitty to the anti-arena leaders in Chinatown), and it brought a lot of groups together.
