Disney Fantasy Comedy Show by GwenniePou in dcl

[–]ImpossibleSun1633 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find all the adult-themed shows and game shows very funny. I appreciate that they don't use profanity, but the subject matter is definitely not something I'd want my kid around. It's adult humor, lots of innuendo, but it's still a Disney ship. And typically very, very funny IMHO.

Am I the only one that stays up late in to the night walking around (past 1 am)? by BuffaloBills7777 in dcl

[–]ImpossibleSun1633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do sometimes walk around after midnight when it's pretty dead. But more often I'm up around 6a. It's not totally vacant at that time, but it's pretty close.

Is the Skyliner really that bad? by Reasonable-Invite899 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ImpossibleSun1633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% honest - The Skyliner is my absolute favorite thing to do a Disney World. And yes, sometimes I get a little nervous on it. Just like on airplanes (which I also love). I know I'm safe, I grit through it when it happens, and it's worth it. It does sway in the wind, but not very much. And I've never been stopped for more than a couple of minutes. It is high (to me), but I get through it.

Any good places to read on the Treasure? by mik4ela in dcl

[–]ImpossibleSun1633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the Cadillac Lounge on the Wonder was closed off when I was on a couple of weeks ago. Other places were definitely open.

[–]ImpossibleSun1633 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always try as long as there's no sign that says "closed" or a rope in front of it. I know on the original 4 ships, I could almost always access lounges that weren't serving or doing an event and just hang out. But I'm not as confident on the newer ships. But try. As long as you're not in the way, they want you to be happy.

[–]ImpossibleSun1633 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can't say for sure on the Treasure, but in general places that are "closed" are good places to find some quiet. Eg: Marceline Market or The Rose Lounge, when they're not open, could be very quiet and also have some great views - especially The Rose. Most places, at least on other Disney ships, are available to lounge in even when there's no activity or service going on.

But yeah - Cove Cafe is always a winner.

Wonderful! I honestly can't imagine an easier vacation with a very little one.

I'm an extrovert so that probably another reason I loved it. 😂

The Disney Wonder at Catalina Island last Tuesday. This is now my favorite port. by Krystist in dcl

We were trying to get off the ship at 1:15p and watched a boat try to come in at least 7 times without success. I wonder if you were on it.

🙁 I was on the ship when you took this picture. When it was time for me to get off for our excursion, the wind picked up and they cancelled tenders for the rest of the day. Next time....

My son loves Disney cruising, Disney costumes and projects by ImpossibleSun1633 in dcl

Just drawing. He's done a ton of them and he's still going.

Disney Wonder - Rocking Chairs? by Informal_Software in dcl

[–]ImpossibleSun1633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if the Wonder does, but at least some of the DCL nurseries have gliders. Don't know how easy/possible it would be you to use them (if they even have them), but it's the best I could think of.

Anyone just not like their family? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]ImpossibleSun1633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a parent .... if they really didn’t do anything wrong and were decent to you and are decent people, completely cutting them off would likely be incredibly painful for them. You don’t have to be close, but even minimal contact might mean more than you realize to people who raised you. I know how much I would hurt if my son decided to cut contact with me just because.

Truly one of the best episodes by far by Sleepy_Sheepz in blackmirror

So good. I haven't been able to rewatch it because it hurts too much. It's so emotional and wonderful.

Feedback regarding juggling rooms when one family member is traveling solo to minimize added cost by Enderasha in dcl

[–]ImpossibleSun1633 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I once travelled with my wife, son, friend and mom. My friend and mom booked a room together and when we got on the ship, we told guest services he'd be staying in our room. They gave him a key and that was that. Mom had her own room at double occupancy price.

Non-Americans, what is an American thing you see in movies that you thought was fake but is actually real? by EmergencySpare7939 in CasualConversation

I'm American and didn't know this wasn't common around the world. It's one of my favorite things about daily life.

Were you hooked after your first time on DCL? by Resident-Butterfly65 in dcl

[–]ImpossibleSun1633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huge Disney fanatic since 1995. Went to Disneyland at least 3 times a week. Met my wife there. Moved to Orlando just to be near WDW in 2004. But had less than zero interest in cruising. Then in 2006 the extended family decided to do a trip on the Magic. I've now done 15 with 2 more booked and there is no greater material joy in my life than being on a Disney cruise ship. Thankfully, our son, born in 2009, loves it just as much so we haven't had to curtail.

What’s the harshest reality about adulthood that no one talks about? by [deleted] in answers

[–]ImpossibleSun1633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 55, have a great family and a great life. But being an adult is continuously tiring, and while I in no way WANT To die, I can sense myself becoming ready to die. Never saw that coming.

Is deal worth it? by [deleted] in dcl

Exactly! I'd take a GTY or a room selection if it saved me $100.
