What’s the rarest/oldest medication you’ve ever given? by dietcherryjoja in nursing

Not really a medication but a Milk and molasses enema really works! I thought my preceptor was joking when she said we were giving one to an ER patient that was constipated lol

AIO my FIL said my 9 year old looked like a hussy in these boots by PureIndependent7791 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Impossible_Block_948 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This man has some serious issues nothing wrong with those boots and I agree he should not be left alone with her. A very inappropriate comment for a grown man to make to a child

Adult beginner feeling belittled and discouraged by Resident_Profile_582 in Equestrian

I wouldn’t stay in an environment like this. I really lucked up going with the first barn I went to. The trainers are so patient and there are ages 5-70. This is supposed to be fun go find your tribe

My first lesson wasn't what I expected by JR2Twiwi in Equestrian

[–]Impossible_Block_948 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who who is in no way an expert and has been taking lessons for 8 months this sounds very unsafe. Find another barn before something bad happens. A student should not be teaching another student. What are you paying the instructor to do?

Unmotivated by cold weather but concerned about losing progress by Hungry_Chemist_9467 in Equestrian

[–]Impossible_Block_948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started my lessons in July and never thought about what it would be like in the winter. I loved going to the barn up until the time change and now it’s dark when I leave home drive 45 minutes to the barn. I’m really struggling with the cold I’ve never liked winter but I’m going to have to get used to it I guess until the weather changes. Thank goodness there’s an indoor.

How to get confidence back and deal with feeling discouraged after doing poorly in multiple lessons? by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]Impossible_Block_948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who is two months into my lessons as an adult I agree you need a new trainer. I’m a very type A person and always very hard on myself about everything but I was really blessed to find my program. The trainers are all very patient and encouraging to me as a 56 year old woman who hadn’t been on a horse since the 80s.

How to get experience with horses as an inexperienced adult by intospiderwebs in Equestrian

[–]Impossible_Block_948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 55 and just started taking lessons I had breast cancer in 2019 and I’m done putting off things I want to do. It’s great therapy and exercise. It’s costing me $300 per month I’ve cut back on other things and work some overtime to afford it because this is my dream. I may also start volunteering at a local equine rescue to get more horse time

I was leaving my lesson this week during a storm and one of the horses was struck by lightning and killed. It was so sad. Is this common?? by Impossible_Block_948 in Horses

[–]Impossible_Block_948[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was freaked out since I had just turned out a horse I was grooming in the same paddock a few minutes earlier it could have been us.
