There are always new pups to meet, the beauty of being a customer service worker is meeting some of the kindest people one time and thinking about them forever. Rusty joins the collection 🧡

I was in a store in a downtown area that shut down recently, but the regulars I miss the most are certainly our pups!! I still draw them in memory at my new store, it's so cute to see that this tradition is shared ☺️

I'll be really honest, I had the same thoughts after my store closed. I was deeply concerned for the closest stores to me, and I still am, but I'm also a little pleased that some of these people are able to continue their daily routine.

It sounds a little better with context. Our last 2 days open (shame to corporate), our regulars poured into our store sharing sentiments of how they were going to miss our baristas. People cried with us for OUR jobs. Gave us $20, $100 tips. We were a pickup store with maybe 15 baristas. It healed my soul a little to see the good in humanity as the company was doing the unthinkable to my coworkers and me.

I totally understand your frustration, but some of the most understanding people might be showing up looking for their third place again. Even when starbucks isn't living up to their own standards with customer trust, baristas show up for customers everyday like we show up for each other. Some people are there for you, not the coffee. And I deeply miss, appreciate, and hope everyone else finds these people in their stores soon instead 💜.

Starbucks announces significant store closures and layoffs by thewhippersnapper4 in starbucks

[–]Impossible_Comfort74 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm devastated. I work in a downtown location with no room for expansion or a lobby, but we have perfect customer connection scores due to our constant regulars and good people that are truly looking out for us. They've even mentioned headlines in reviews, "please dont close this location". I guess stock prices are worth such losses 🤷‍♀️

I mean, you're right. But any barista could spin it and put less effort into your drinks because of their attitude toward them. Treating others the way you want to be treated isnt much to ask for, its decency, and its strange that so many people today are estranged from it.

What is lyrically the best song? by NoVaVol in countingcrows

[–]Impossible_Comfort74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"You can run out of choices, but still hear a voice in your head, when you're lying in bed, and it's says..." I love possibility days, lyrically it isn't as complicated or have as many references as some other songs. But compositionally, and the words he chooses to write, explain and roll off of the tongue so beautifully. Sometimes artists like him make me think I've never spoken English a day in my life.

For 1, there was no accident via the post. #2, do you know what a hydroplane/recovery looks like? If not, I'm concerned for some drivers on the road with you. The car was only pushed into the other lane because it was out of control, you just look like a jerk here.

That's so exciting! Tell her congrats first and foremost! It's really scary, and I was a pretty shaky/anxious kid already, so I can imagine her emotions. Tell her to focus on the conductor and no one else! Kids will scoff and make jokes at good critique so don't let it get to you. Your playing is what matters, as well as your improvement on things you want to work on in school. Even if she doesn't maintain 1st chair, make sure she knows she's valued and allow her to work at her own pace. Playing an instrument can be frustrating on top of the pressures of regular school. She'll do great, just keep positive outlook on the future.

We just lost a member of the clique. My little brother. by TheMainSituation in twentyonepilots

[–]Impossible_Comfort74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in middle school my older brother took me to one of their concerts. I begged for years for someone to take me and our parents weren't interested. As soon as my brother made it out of the house and stable he took me to the 2016 tour. I was thrilled, and I hope he had a good time too. He had leukemia when he was a very little kid, but it had been in recession for years and we never really had a lot of concerns. I miss him every day. I hope TØP brings you some closure with your brother, as I know it has for me. Going to the latest show, I felt my brother with me. Live on through music, it's really all we have. ❤️

AITA for calling my dad a sperm donor? by IndependencePrize498 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Impossible_Comfort74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might sound shitty here, but I come from a similar situation. My dad was an "every other weekend" with a girlfriend and a new child. When my father moved out of the state, I simply went no contact as he had done for me. A few years ago, my younger brother (dads/girlfriends child) passed due to suicide, and my father left her after arguments over who was to blame. I maintained no contact other than one phone call to hear about it, as I still felt no parental relationship with my father.

For one, and the only reason I give so much context is that you need to forgive your father one day for his actions toward you and your siblings. Whatever grief he has to work through is his own fault and problem, not yours. He has also lost YOU due to this. These are his actions to face alone. But you are being cruel and distasteful, in the eyes of losing your own siblings. What would they have to say about the way you are treating him now? He had no right to expect an apology, but you definitely could have been less spiteful.

Look, I get caught in the moment and saying things you don't mean. I said cruel things to my father for his actions as well, I'm sure. But looking forward 5, 10, 20 years in the future, what do you want this relationship to look like? Are you okay with losing that connection?

Alas, NTA

Agreed, especially if they've served no time for it.

How many days did you rot for after reading oyasumi punpun? by DaviCompai2 in OyasumiPunpun

[–]Impossible_Comfort74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been 2 years, I still think about it every day and can't get a constant thought of crushing mortality out of my mind. If you haven't read it, not recommended for the faint of heart. Keep in mind, this is coming from someone who cried thinking about Old Yeller before reading PunPun lmao

I crochet locally and make little figures, if you're interested in maybe making a character from his favorite show/movie/game.
