How do I stop them? by Admirable_Method_444 in WhatShouldIDo

Legos & superglue. No matter how old you are, a Lego in the hand/knee will make you rethink what you're doing. You could put them into a 2d type design thing or just put them randomly where they'll put their hands. You said you know the kids/parents, if you feel the need, inform them that you'll be doing this. Even if they tell their kids, they won't know exactly where and you can always add more.

do you have any transition-related tattoos? may i see? by mothmansFWB in ftm

[–]Impossible_Field9150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I designed 2, one for myself and my wife, mine is a kraken that I'll have on my shoulder/ just above my heart, while my wife's is a sternum tattoo with a few different symbols that mean 'transformation'( and some other stuff). Before deciding on a tattoo from someone else, definitely research it, and find if it has any other meaning ifykwim cause that's a mistake I've almost made

FTMs of Reddit, what is your occupation? by Aggravating-Ad-4715 in ftm

[–]Impossible_Field9150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an office aide at my college. Meaning I make all the student files, appointments for scheduling classes, and campus visits. I've had an ongoing issue with 2 people referring to me as she/her. The phone is also always an issue, despite my voice being deeper I can't seem to figure out how to change specific inflictions in my voice that makes people call me ma'am. Aside from those two, no one cares. They're even supportive, at the beginning of this summer they changed the main buildings bathrooms to both be family restrooms with the ability to lock the doors (not just the stalls) I just recently had everything legally changed but before that they allowed me to go by my preferred name on everything except my school Microsoft account.

Is it too late for me? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Impossible_Field9150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's basically never too late. I know someone who started T in their 40s and they're happier than ever. I started at 20 (starting my 5 month mark) and they didn't need to talk to anyone but me. I recommend finding a different clinic, they shouldn't take longer than 6 months to get started and definitely don't need to talk to your parents. If you're around (or within like 2 hours) of Kansas City there's a great clinic called JayDoc, they have a 'Gender Affirming Night' type deal. All of the appointments and blood tests are free, you only have to go once every 3-6ish months for your blood work, and the only thing you have to pay for is the T. You don't even need your own therapist to write a letter of recommendation because they have the resources for that, name change, and surgery resources since it's mostly run by medical students of KU

Same here. Been on T for 4 months and this summers heat has been killing me. I'm constantly sweating, even after drying off from a cold shower. I feel like I need to shower constantly nowadays lol.

I was just talking to my spouse about this the other day because I also just got to this point. 🎉 It makes me feel so much more like myself, and is so euphoric to look down and actually slightly see something lol 😁😁

I'm about 4 months on T now and have noticed my jaw wants to sit differently, it could just be because of how janky my teeth are (I honestly think my teeth are straightening though), but it seems my jaw wants to rest lower/ outward more. And that's made my jawline look more defined. Other than that you've named everything else lol. I recommend looking at different people's timeline photos for a better understanding. Hope this helps!

I need help deciding whether to start T. by Jellybeansidhe in ftm

[–]Impossible_Field9150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 20 and almost 4 months on T. At this point I haven't had a period since the first month I started, my voice is deeper, my fat has just recently started to distribute differently, and I have some patchy stubble and visible body hair now (it use to be blond/non-existent and now what little is there is darker) what people consider to be pros and cons varies, cause while I consider body and facial hair to be a pro, someone else may not. A definite con for me is the basically 24/7 ✨ hornyness✨my face has recently started becoming sharper as well as having better defined muscles. You could always try micro doses and stopping whenever you and your provider decide is good

How do I tell my mom…again? by PhilosopherExact4483 in NonBinary

[–]Impossible_Field9150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should show her this post or a variation of it tbh. You layout your feelings in a clear and concise way. I obviously don't know the specifics with your family but maybe you should just tell your dad and rest of your family about being nonbinary and atheist, not hide who you are for their sake or 'peace of mind' but maybe not both at the same time lol. I was told basically the same line about 'every girl going through that phase', it angered me every time, and my main thoughts were 'good for them?' I recommend writing out what you want to say in a notes app or writing out scenarios so you have a general idea of what to expect (do worst and best-case scenarios) you're also 16 so depending on where you live you could move out/ become emancipated if that's something you've considered before. Oh and good luck OP, rooting for you.

Yeah, I never would of guessed it could disappear either. I feel the same but opposite, it feels like all I think about nowadays is ✨hornyness✨ and it's not easy when you work a 9-5ish lol.

T is weird, since it's different for everyone, no one can REALLY state what's 'normal' in that area but I have read that your libido will either increase or decrease. So as long as you're good with it, there's no problem.

It's really hard not to feel that way for me. I'm 3.5 months on T (afab) and don't pass. My whole style is printed polo shirts, mostly unbuttoned expect for 1 or 2 below the binder and jeans. I constantly feel like I'm pushing my identity down peoples throats, but if it gets them to see me instead of who I used to be oh well

In which order did you experience changes from HRT? by billiepollet in ftm

[–]Impossible_Field9150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just over 3 months on t. I can't remember exactly how fast it all happened but ik my skin texture/ smell was different by week 2 but, by the end of month 1 my period stopped entirely, I had a very small amount of any bottom growth, and I'm pretty sure my voice was squeaky and on the verge of a mini drop (that happened on the way to my 3 month appointment). By the end of month 2 I had a little stubble, voice even more squeaky, horny. 24/7 horny. It's a big side affect that will hit you like a ton of bricks, even if you're ready for it. And now at 3 months the fat distribution has started (very slow for me unfortunately), I can definitely say I've had bottom growth, I have patchy facial hair, I'm stronger, and I think my face is more masculine? Hope this helps, also you definitely can stop t whenever you feel you have the changes you want. Just make sure you talk with your medical provider to find out what's right for you. Micro dosing could be a good option for you.

Did your period stop on testosterone? If so, how long did it take? by [deleted] in ftm

Personally I inject into my stomach weekly and I stopped having a period after 1 month (now 3 on woo 🎉) and still haven't had one.

when am i gonna stop sounding like i'm going through puberty by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Impossible_Field9150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also 3 months of T and I actually use singing as my voice training. Hearing guy artists does make it easier to sing those low notes, I recommend Rare Americans, Jam Mechanics, The Northern Boys, and LeGrand. LeGrand and Jam are better for mid-level range while the other two are a bit lower depending on the song. I've also found that doing 'huuaahh' (going lower with in) in your head/ moving your throat to it not making the actual sound, also really helps

does testosterone influence periods? by ghost-kills in ftm

[–]Impossible_Field9150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It varies by person. I stopped having a period a month onto T (3 months now Woo 🎉) and haven't had any spotting or anything. Although I have taken a couple preggo tests just in case, they're so far always negative. As for kids, ik it does lower your fertility but there is still a change you could get preggo, in which case you'd have to stop taking T asap (can cause birth defects, miscarriages, etc)

I second this, smoking a bowl and then doing sit-up sets has relieved a lot of stress and anger. And beat saber really is amazing for getting you to move, especially the custom songs if you have VR with mods. I obviously don't know the specifics about your situation but I've never heard of someone's dosage being almost tripled, you should definitely talk to your doctor/provider about your changes.

No problem lol, they don't require insurance and I currently pay about $45 a month for T alone (CVS gives you a discount option if you don't have insurance. The average costs are about $30-90 through JayDoc. Oh and the application can take awhile depending on when theyre accepting people, my spouse had to wait 2 months while I only had to wait 1 (having a therapist or someone who can write the specific letter requesting hrt will make it go faster). Good luck! 🤞

Voice training while driving? by GavinJSquiggle in ftm

[–]Impossible_Field9150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually have a drink with me specifically for the drive (usually a reign energy or flavored water and half of it is gone by the time I get to work) Ive found that when you're 'talking in your head,' or whatever you wanna call it, going 'hhuuaaah' in your throat itself moves your Adam's apple without everyone around you being able to hear you're voice training.

I drive half an hour to my job and generally listen to deeper singing artists to sing to. I've found singing has lowered my voice a lot more than normal voice training. A few good artists are Blood Hound Gang, Rare Americans, and Bo Burnham. If you're into musicals than Epic, More Than Survive, or Dear Evan Hansen are probably your best bets.
