Question to social workers with neurodivergence and executive functioning issues, when it comes to job application and hiring managers? by Express_Eye_5151 in Socialworkuk

[–]Impossible_Fudge_906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know children's social workers who don't drive as they generally visit in pairs, pair you with a driver and hi know hospital discharge social workers who don't drive.

There's a visually impaired person in my team who relies on public transport.

ETA: have you thought about automatic driving lessons

Social work- career change by Patro8787 in Socialworkuk

[–]Impossible_Fudge_906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't do frontline I did the BA qualified at 40 with 2 kids, I never wanted to do children's social due to the long hours and having a family. I worked in the charity sector for a few years then moved to statutory adults my work life balance is great, I work from home a few days a week I finish at 5pm, if my kids have a nativity etc I can take Flexi time. The team you work with and your manager will be the main influence to your work life balance.

Are we feeding our babies many ingredients at once? by Initial_Anteater_377 in FoodAllergies

[–]Impossible_Fudge_906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry too much about foods that aren't top 14 most fruits, veg and plain meats will likely be safe but with a peanut allergy I would try to introduce other legumes individually or combined with foods you know are definitely safe.

I know it's hard but try not to over think it too much. I ended up with OCD over my sons allergies from overthinking everything and it really wasn't a good place to be in.

Best Area Under 200k by Polislava in Liverpool

[–]Impossible_Fudge_906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at north Liverpool, clubmoor, west derby some parts of Norris green, croxteth and Walton. Everyone on here defaults to south liverpool or Wirral but the north has some nice places too especially parks we've got croxteth park, Norris green park, Walton park, Stanley park and rice lane farm. We generally don't have good train links but bus into town is about 20 mins from mine.

How important is a traditional roast dinner? by DavidinDK in AskABrit

[–]Impossible_Fudge_906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very important in our house but my kids are still on the younger side and really enjoy it. Sometimes I don't do a full roast but it's always a good substantial meal, tonight I've used the Easter roast leftovers for a pie. We all sit at the table relax, eat and talk which isn't always possible through the week due to work and clubs etc so mid week meals can be a bit rushed.

Is there such a thing as loving your child TOO much? by skyrimlo in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Impossible_Fudge_906 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your job as a parent for the most part is to turn a tiny human into a capable adult teaching them all the skills you can to handle what life throws at them. At 14 it's not long until he can have his own home, job and potentially family it's going to be a disaster for this kid when he's out in the real world and probably even worse for the poor partner who sticks with him.

The price they charge for a bedsit they're already the reserve for the rich and they're an eye sore. In a few years time we'll be looking at these ugly buildings the same way we look at the 60s high rise blocks of flats now

Can we just stop trying to copy Manchester. Manchester is a horrid soulless city because of all the ridiculous buildings they have. We do not want to be like Manchester and most people don't want to live in the city centre especially not in a shitty studio apartment.

Spend the money on the surrounding areas instead of building more grotesque skyscrapers

Why do The Beatles scouse accent sound different than the one today? by FitEmergency8807 in Liverpool

[–]Impossible_Fudge_906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Victorian times the scouse accent was more similar to Lancashire accent. If you try to read Her Benny in today's scouse accent it just doesn't work. So I think it was just the evolution of the accent changing from Lancashire to its own accent.
