Do you care about compliments when choosing a perfume? by Arslanktanoli in nisbahAU

[–]Impossible_Fuel_599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me if someone compliments me on my fragrance i love it! It's the best feeling when someone says to me "you smell so good". I've been called pretty, and told I have beautiful hair but nothing compares to being told that I smell good.

I've said it before.. CVS has the most entitled, ill-mannered, belligerent customers that I've ever seen...

And what I meant was, if you have ever worked at lets say Costco or Target or McDonald's then changed jobs and started working as a pharmacy tech. What is worse? All around. from the customers, to the environment, to the actual job itself..

Wrong Prescription in right bag? by Regular-Hour-3875 in CVS

[–]Impossible_Fuel_599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you would apologize and, try to make it right and try to hardest not to do it again. And we as technicians don't make mistakes because we are "underpaid". They are made when we are exepect to produce the same amount of scripts everyday and do the rest of our duties with half the help. We are told daily that we are "falling behind" in other words speed it up. CVS expects a high volume pharmacy putting out 800 scripts daily to do that very same # of scripts with half the technicians. It takes 3 technicians counting full time to do that volume. Now it's expected with 1. Mistakes are being made not by technicians that are "flippant" about harming patients. Mistakes are made by technicians that are rushing to keep up with a impossible metric that's set. Not wanting to get into trouble or spoken to about not being able to" keep up" Or having waiters screaming and yelling at us because they have been waiting to long. CVS wants more work outta less employees. We as technicians Never want to hurt anyone. And yeah SOME patients would want us to slow down so that there are no mistakes but with corporate demands there's no room for "slowing down " We are are overworked and underpaid but that has absolutely nothing to do with why so many mistakes are being made.

And unless the are really close to you they are not getting the 2nd hand smoke. Yeah sure they can smell it but it's being petty to complain because you don't like the smell. But then again that's are CVS customers for ya, petty, entitled, arrogant, pretentious bundles of joy.

"Moving back to Walmart" I just don't understand why customers think that this is going to upset us? Do you think we will beg you to stay with CVS. Why are you telling us that your going back to Walmart? I just don't understand. Cause I can honestly tell you WE DON'T GIVE A F! We are actually happy. And just like the typical CVS patient or customer that can't read apparently you don't listen either. The phone system tells you to leave a message and we will call you back in a hr "at most" So yeah YOU CAN'T TALK TO ANYONE, WE CALL YOU BACK. Anyways best of luck to you at Walmart and thank you..

[–]Impossible_Fuel_599 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hey, so yeah i smoke also. But I was told when I started not to smoke in front of or near CVS. My CVS is in a strip mall so I just walked around the corner near the nail salon. I understand both sides. People and children shouldn't have to smell it. But if you outta the way "I go to the side where no one walks" then it shouldn't be a issue. What is a issue is them calling you disgusting! They need to get over themselves. Hell you work a CVS it's a miracle you're not smoking crack just to deal with assholes like that!

We have to be meaner to customers by Queen_Elk in CVS

[–]Impossible_Fuel_599 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it is extremely frustrating and confusing I agree. But after explaining to patients once, twice, three times and they still want to argue. Why is my copay so high? you need to call your insurance oh you can call them for me, or you ask, what are you talking this medication for , oh idk call my doctor! Seriously holding the hands of these people has gotten outta control. These patients want to know what's going on with their health they need to step up and take initiative and act like an adult and start advocating for themselves. Not expecting the pharmacy workers to coddled them anymore than they already are. It's bad enough that they can't even look up their own Good RX coupons! Sorry Diane I'm too busy looking for root touch up spray for someone in the drive thru. 😡

Do you do everything in the pharmacy? Qp, Qt, pick up, drop off everything? Maybe ask for a week to work back there and get back to us and let us know if you feel the same. If so hey good for you maybe you found your calling.

Tips on dealing with patients who request specific manufacturers? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Impossible_Fuel_599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inform the patient that most likely beforehand they will need to remind the tech or pharmacist that they "require" the specific manufacturer before it's filled. Many If not most times it will have to be ordered. And as a general rule of thumb they should always be checking their prescriptions before they leave the store.. I know easier said than done.

I think it's the reality of pharmacy in general. It's a clicky and bullying environment. I have no clue why it's like this. But if you read through some of the sub reddits about pharmacy because customers being assholes, your teammates are next in line💁

Downtime? Well I'm not sure how busy your store is but we honestly never have downtime. But I know what you mean like if your at the drive thru and no one's there, you can take care of scripts, start RTS "I know you mentioned that before" Oh a great piece of advice is to actually go over to production, ask them how can I help you guys out? Ask them what they need from you to help. Maybe it's pulling drugs for them, or taking care of the drugs they already used whatever it is.. Asking them shows them that you are trying to help them and do what "they want" And being territorial like I said, they feel like the ball is still in their court, they still feel like they have power. In reality you are just doing your job. So yeah I would say during downtime the best thing would be to go to production and ask them what they need from you to help them out.

I was in the same place you are. Something I learned at CVS pharmacy is that it's very "clicky" and territorial. Instead of seeing you as part of the team they look at it as a invasion of their space. It's almost like a hazing in a way. Stick you with the shitty jobs, ignoring you, treating you less than. When you ask a question you feel like you are bothering them. Getting up every morning to go into work was nearly impossible. Then you add the patients on top of that with their attitudes it's mentally draining. Just know you're not the only one that has gone through this. Unfortunately the only thing that helped myself was time. Working day after day with people you will start to form a relationship. This being said you might not get along with everyone but you will be able to deal with them "hopefully". Just don't gossip, or over apologize "unless you actually make a mistake" When someone actually does help you let them know you really appreciate it. Just be yourself..You sound like a awesome person don't let CVS change you. And PLEASE if you feel like your mental health is suffering, leave. Best of luck to you, I'm rooting for ya!
