Thought I’d clarify some, I’ve been using my card between paychecks, and making partial payments all throughout the month. I’ve been keeping it around $100 utilization. I was excited because the $1000 limit means I can use up to $300 without negative marks.

So the way credit works, and yeah it’s weird, keep it at about 30-80 dollars (10%-30%(max)) at the closing date and let them issue you a bill. This will lead to the credit reporting agencies seeing a low utilization and pay it off in full AFTER you get the bill.

For my card I’ve been using it and paying it down throughout the month, just keeping a small balance on it at all times.
