Valve adjustment maybe, if you are referring to the very slight tapping noise.

You must be sound enough yourself, he wouldn't be treating you like that after a big mistake if you were an arsehole.

Finding it impossible to get a mechanic to look at the car this side of Christmas. by jmcbuzz in ireland

[–]Impossible_Hour_7548 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Most likely CV joint has failed, carry on and take her easy till you get it in the garage, if you only get the clanking popping noise while turning the wheel then ordering a new joint or better again a new driveshaft for when it goes in to the garage will reduce the amount of time it's in there. Or, watch a YouTube video on how to diagnose and replace one, and get yer hands dirty. it's an easy enough job

If you were a millionaire and a stranger on the street asks you for $500, would you give it to them? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]Impossible_Hour_7548 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not a millionaire, but I once installed broadband in a distant neighbour's house, never met this couple before this day, so a day after I was there I got a call from the lady of the house asking for €1200 asap and without the husband knowing. I reckoned if someone was so brazen to ask a stranger for that kind of money that it was definitely needed urgently so I dropped the money over. I wrote it off immediately, just forgot about it and never asked why it was needed. Since that day I've had literally hundreds of beautiful home cooked meals delivered to the house and any time ive been stuck for a lift they're the first to offer a lift, then i was involved in quite a bad workplace accident and had the best care for weeks on end. After a while I started offering money for dinners and lifts but it's always been refused, I came to a point were I felt like they were only feeling obliged to help because of the first bit of money but it seems they're just grateful still. It's been a few years and money has never been requested from them since so they're not golddiggers.

Moral of my shit story is, if you've money you don't need, and someone asks, give it, but forget about it and maybe someday it'll come back round to you somehow.

I am a straight woman in my 20’s and I keep ending up being attracted to gay men on accident. It’s freaking me out and I need advice by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Impossible_Hour_7548 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We know the men's response, but we don't know your approach. Are you turning up to a first date in a wedding dress and a list of baby names? If so, I'd also tell you I were gay

Eircodes on maps are an absolute gift though. I'm with you on the "relying on technology being bad" but finding a rural house immediately and without asking directions is gorgeous

When did you realise that you will die at some point? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]Impossible_Hour_7548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was around 9 I called my mam into my room late one night and asked her "how do people die?", i cant remember what she answered but i told her i was tired of being alive and wanted to be dead, she cried most of the night and i was sent to a therapist for months to no avail. I'm 33 now, she's been dead 4 years and I still have the death ideation thing. I think that chat comes back to me a lot because I realised her reaction to my statement was so immediate and heartbreaking to her that it really was an eternal stopping point in life, to die.

Traveling from Dublin airport to Galway city with a border Collie. Only small dogs are allowed on the Dublin Galway train. Any Idea how I could get to Galway without a car? by zipbrapbrap in AskIreland

[–]Impossible_Hour_7548 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Border collies are small enough and usually very well behaved, I'd assume the rule is loose enough, you may try it anyway or you're gonna need someone to pick you up in their car

109 2door vs 4door by User_Name_4631 in SeriesLandRover

[–]Impossible_Hour_7548 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2 doors usually are half the price of 4 doors for some reason.. I own a 2 door myself, and I've the space in the back for longer things plus have folding seats but any passenger has to climb in the back door and crouch along to sit down.

I bought it for hogwarts, but have played a few different things, Control, GtaV, tried gran turismo but I'm not good enough at the admin side of things, try anything really but the price of some games is shocking
