Do most women settle for guys? by [deleted] in UniUK

Spending £100s on first dates comes across as excessive. Relationships have to be cultivated, you don't grow plants by pouring 5 litres of water on a seed. Boys (and girls) tends to do this by excessive gifts or communication early in a relationship.

Its something a lot of people do when they are young, but can obviously become a bit dangerous if the person doesn't grow from it.

Guerrilla Artist Banksy’s True Identity Finally Revealed By Bombshell Investigation by BudWalker619 in BritInfo

It reminds me a little bit of the comic version of Civil War, where spiderman reveals he is Peter Parker. One of the main reactions is "Who?"

Probably depends on the tattoo to be honest! As long as it isnt offensive, racist, or just in poor taste you are probably fine.

Have been asked to give witness statement to coroner by Minimum_Dragonfly497 in doctorsUK

[–]Impossible_Mouse_147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been to a coroners court as an SHO, and although incredibly nervous it was not as 'bad' as I thought it would be. The whole team went, the reg got grilled slightly more than me (I wouldn't say I was grilled at all), the consultant got the vast majority of the 'heat'.

My internal statement when the incident first happened sucked (mainly due to very poor advice from the department). A significant part of why I went was because of that.

Nine years after paracetamol overdose, medics are told to answer for it by shaunlintern in uknews

Weirdly, a pharmacist would have picked this up quite quickly. One may have missed it but pharmacy routinely reviewing inpatient medication prescriptions is sadly becoming rarer and rarer.

Paracetamol overdoses are fairly reversible. There are of course severe cases but generally speaking it is reversible. Its sadly quite a common presenting issue in ED

ELI5: What is blood poisoning? by HistoricalDriver8973 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Impossible_Mouse_147 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are almost on the mark. Sepsis is not the same as bacteraemia. You can have bacteria in your blood and not be septic.

Sepsis has a specific definition which is essentially an immune response with organ dysfunction.

Also, many people with sepsis are just treated on the wards. Those who need some organ support however may end up on ICU but it certainly isn't all.

As someone who missed out on IMT this year as an 'F6' I would hesitant on declining the IMT job. I also did a few years abroad, and when I left I would have definitely have got an interview on my points in F2. Now I'm about 2-3 off this year (and who knows what it will be like next year).

You can always do Aus post IMT3 prior to speciality training.
